Superstable cycles for antiferromagnetic Q-state Potts and three-site interaction Ising models on recursive lattices

We consider the superstable cycles of the Q-state Potts (QSP) and the three-site interaction antiferromagnetic Ising (TSAI) models on recursive lattices. The rational mappings describing the models' statistical properties are obtained via the recurrence relation technique. We provide analytical solutions for the superstable cycles of the second order for both models. A particular attention is devoted to the period three window. Here we present an exact result for the third order superstable orbit for the QSP and a numerical solution for the TSAI model. Additionally, we point out a non-trivial connection between bifurcations and superstability: in some regions of parameters a superstable cycle is not followed by a doubling bifurcation. Furthermore, we use symbolic dynamics to understand the changes taking place at points of superstability and to distinguish areas between two consecutive superstable orbits.

Potts Models with Invisible States on General Bethe Lattices

The number of so-called invisible states which need to be added to the q-state Potts model to transmute its phase transition from continuous to first order has attracted recent attention. In the q=2 case, a Bragg-Williams, mean-field approach necessitates four such invisible states while a 3-regular, random-graph formalism requires seventeen. In both of these cases, the changeover from second- to first-order behaviour induced by the invisible states is identified through the tricritical point of an equivalent Blume-Emery-Griffiths model. Here we investigate the generalised Potts model on a Bethe lattice with z neighbours. We show that, in the q=2 case, r_c(z)=[4 z / 3(z-1)] [(z-1)/(z-2)]^z invisible states are required to manifest the equivalent Blume-Emery-Griffiths tricriticality. When z=3, the 3-regular, random-graph result is recovered, while the infinite z limit delivers the Bragg-Williams, mean-field result.

Magnetic properties and concurrence for fluid 3He on kagome lattice

We present the results of magnetic properties and entanglement for kagome lattice using Heisenberg model with two-, and three-site exchange interactions in strong magnetic field. Kagome lattice correspond to the third layer of fluid 3He absorbed on the surface of graphite. The magnetic properties and concurrence as a measure of pairwise thermal entanglement are studied by means of variational mean-field like treatment based on Gibbs-Bogoliubov inequality. The system exhibits different magnetic behaviors, depending on the values of the exchange parameters (J2, J3). We have obtained the magnetization plateaus at low temperatures. The central theme of the paper is the comparing the entanglement and magnetic behavior for kagome lattice. We have found that in the antiferromagnetic region behaviour of the concurrence coincides with the magnetization one.
