Ballistic transport in periodic and random media

We prove ballistic transport of all orders, that is, $\lVert x^m\mathrm{e}^{-\mathrm{i}tH}ψ\rVert\asymp t^m$, for the following models: the adjacency matrix on $\mathbb{Z}^d$, the Laplace operator on $\mathbb{R}^d$, periodic Schrödinger operators on $\mathbb{R}^d$, and discrete periodic Schrödinger operators on periodic graphs. In all cases we give the exact expression of the limit of $\lVert x^m\mathrm{e}^{-\mathrm{i}tH}ψ\rVert/t^m$ as $t\to+\infty$. We then move to universal covers of finite graphs (these are infinite trees) and prove ballistic transport in mean when the potential is lifted naturally, giving a periodic model, and when the tree is endowed with random i.i.d.\ potential, giving an Anderson model. The limiting distributions are then discussed, enriching the transport theory. Some general upper bounds are detailed in the appendix.

Dispersion for Schrödinger operators on regular trees

We prove dispersive estimates for two models~: the adjacency matrix on a discrete regular tree, and the Schrödinger equation on a metric regular tree with the same potential on each edge/vertex. The latter model can be thought of as an extension of the case of periodic Schrödinger operators on the real line. We establish a $t^{-3/2}$-decay for both models which is sharp, as we give the first-order asymptotics.

Quantum ergodicity for expanding quantum graphs in the regime of spectral delocalization

We consider a sequence of finite quantum graphs with few loops, so that they converge, in the sense of Benjamini-Schramm, to a random infinite quantum tree. We assume these quantum trees are spectrally delocalized in some interval $I$, in the sense that their spectrum in $I$ is purely absolutely continuous and their Green's functions are well controlled near the real axis. We furthermore suppose that the underlying sequence of discrete graphs is expanding. We deduce a quantum ergodicity result, showing that the eigenfunctions with eigenvalues lying in $I$ are spatially delocalized.

Empirical spectral measures of quantum graphs in the Benjamini-Schramm limit

We introduce the notion of Benjamini-Schramm convergence for quantum graphs. This notion of convergence, intended to play the role of the already existing notion for discrete graphs, means that the restriction of the quantum graph to a randomly chosen ball has a limiting distribution. We prove that any sequence of quantum graphs with uniformly bounded data has a convergent subsequence in this sense. We then consider the empirical spectral measure of a convergent sequence (with general boundary conditions and edge potentials) and show that it converges to the expected spectral measure of the limiting random rooted quantum graph. These results are similar to the discrete case, but the proofs are significantly different.

Anderson Localization for a Multi-Particle Quantum Graph

We study a multi-particle quantum graph with random potential. Taking the approach of multiscale analysis we prove exponential and strong dynamical localization of any order in the Hilbert-Schmidt norm near the spectral edge. Apart from the results on multi-particle systems, we also prove Lifshitz-type asymptotics for single-particle systems. This shows in particular that localization for single-particle quantum graphs holds under a weaker assumption on the random potential than previously known.

Some abstract Wegner estimates with applications

We prove some abstract Wegner bounds for random self-adjoint operators. Applications include elementary proofs of Wegner estimates for discrete and continuous Anderson Hamiltonians with possibly sparse potentials, as well as Wegner bounds for quantum graphs with random edge length or random vertex coupling. We allow the coupling constants describing the randomness to be correlated and to have quite general distributions.
