A convex treatment of numerical radius inequalities

In this article, we prove an inner product inequality for Hilbert space operators. This inequality, then, is utilized to present a general numerical radius inequality using convex functions. Applications of the new results include obtaining new forms that generalize and extend some well known results in the literature, with an application to the newly defined generalized numerical radius. We emphasize that the approach followed in this article is different from the approaches used in the literature to obtain the refined versions.

Buzano, Kreĭn and Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities

The Cauchy-Schwarz, Buzano and Kre\uın inequalities are three inequalities about inner product. The main goal of this article is to present refinements of Buzano and Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities, and to present a new proof of a refined version of a Kre\uın-type inequality. Applications that include Buzano-type inequalities for certain operators, operator norm and numerical radius inequalities of Hilbert space operators will be presented.

Further numerical radius inequalities

In this article, we present some new inequalities for the numerical radius of products of Hilbert space operators and the generalized Aluthge transform. In particular, we show some upper bounds for $ω(ABC+DEF)$ using the celebrated Buzano inequality, then some consequences that generalize some results from the literature are discussed. After that, inequalities that involve the generalized Aluthge transform are shown using some known bounds for the numerical radius of the product of two operators.

Norm and numerical radius inequalities for operator matrices

Operator matrices have played a significant role in studying Hilbert space operators. In this paper, we discuss further properties of operator matrices and present new estimates for the operator norms and numerical radii of such operators. Moreover, operator matrices whose real and imaginary parts are positive will be discussed, and sharper bounds will be shown for such class.

Some weighted numerical radius inequalities

The weighted numerical radius of a Hilbert space operator has been defined recently. This article explores other properties and uses this newly defined numerical radius to obtain several new interesting inequalities for the weighted numerical radius and the numerical radius. In particular, new identities for the numerical radius, further comparisons between the numerical radius and the real and imaginary parts, and some inequalities for sectorial operators will be presented.

Matrix Fejér and Levin-Stečkin Inequalities

Fe{j}ér and Levin-Stečkin inequalities treat integrals of the product of convex functions with symmetric functions. The main goal of this article is to present possible matrix versions of these inequalities. In particular, majorization results are shown of Fejér type for both convex and log-convex functions. For matrix Levin-Stečkin type, we present more rigorous results involving the partial Loewner ordering for Hermitian matrices.

More About Operator Order Preserving

It is well known that increasing functions do not preserve operator order in general; nor do decreasing functions reverse operator order. However, operator monotone increasing or operator monotone decreasing do. In this article, we employ a convex approach to discuss operator order preserving or conversing. As an easy consequence of more general results, we find non-negative constants $γ$ and $ψ$ such that $A\leq B$ implies $$f(B)\leq f(A)+γ{\bf{1}}_{\mathcal{H}}\;~{\text{and}}~\;f(A)\leq f(B)+ψ{\bf{1}}_{\mathcal{H}},$$ for the self adjoint operators $A,B$ on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ with identity operator ${\bf{1}}_{\mathcal{H}}$ and for the convex function $f$ whose domain contains the spectra of both $A$ and $B$. The connection of these results to the existing literature will be discussed and the significance will be emphasized by some examples.

Advanced refinements of Young and Heinz inequalities

In this article, we prove several multi-term refinements of Young type inequalities for both real numbers and operators improving several known results. Among other results, we prove \begin{eqnarray*} A\#_νB&+&\sum_{j=1}^{N}s_{j}(ν)\left(A\#_{α_j(ν)}B+A\#_{2^{1-j}+α_j(ν)}B-2A\#_{2^{-j}+α_j(ν)}B\right)\leq A\nabla_νB, \end{eqnarray*} for the positive operators $A$ and $B$, where $0\leq ν\leq 1, N\in\mathbb{N}$ and $α_j(ν)$ is a certain function. Moreover, some new Heinz type inequalities involving the Hilbert-Schmidt norm are established.

Means refinements via convexity

The main goal of this article is to find the exact difference between a convex function and its secant, as a limit of positive quantities. This idea will be expressed as a convex inequality that leads to refinements and reversals of well established inequalities treating different means. The significance of these inequalities is to write one inequality that brings together and refine almost all known inequalities treating the arithmetic, geometric, harmonic and Heinz means, for numbers and operators.
