Using an implicit function to prove common fixed point theorems

In this paper, we prove common fixed point results for a self-mappings satisfying an implicit function which is general enough to cover a multitude of known as well as unknown contractions. Our results modify, unify, extend and generalize many relevant results of the existing literature. Interestingly, unlike several other cases, our main results deduce a nonlinear order-theoretic version of a well-known fixed point theorem (proved for quasi-contraction) due to Ćirić (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. (54) 267-273, 1974). Finally, in the setting of metric spaces, we drive a sharpened version of Theorem 1 due to Berinde and Vetro (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012:105).

Common fixed point theorems for Hybrid generalized $(F,φ)$-contractions under common limit range property with applications

We consider a relatively new hybrid generalized F-contraction involving a pair of mappings and utilize the same to prove a common fixed point theorem for a hybrid pair of occasionally coincidentally idempotent mappings satisfying generalized $(F,φ)$-contraction condition under common limit range property in complete metric spaces. A similar result involving a hybrid pair of mappings satisfying a Rational type Hardy-Rogers $(F,φ)$-contractive condition is also proved. Our results generalize and improve several results of the existing literature. As applications of our results, we prove two theorems for the existence of solutions of certain system of functional equations arising in dynamic programming, and Volterra integral inclusion besides providing an illustrative example.

Nonlinear contractions in metric spaces under locally T-transitive binary relations

In this paper, we present a variant of Boyd-Wong fixed point theorem in a metric space equipped with a locally T-transitive binary relation, which under universal relation reduces to Boyd-Wong (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 20 (1969) 458-464) and Jotic (Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 26 (1995) 947-952) fixed point theorems. Also, our results extend several other well-known fixed point theorems such as: Alam and Imdad (J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 17 (4) (2015) 693-702) and Karapinar and Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro (J. Inequal. Appl. 2014:522 (2014) 12 pp) besides some others.

Relation-theoretic contraction principle in metric-like as well as partial metric spaces

In this paper, we extend the Banach contraction principle to metric-like as well as partial metric spaces (not essentially complete) equipped with an arbitrary binary relation. Thereafter, we derive some fixed point results which are sharper versions of the corresponding known results of the existing literature. Finally, we use an example to demonstrate our main result.

Relation-theoretic metrical fixed point theorems under nonlinear contractions

We establish fixed point theorems for nonlinear contractions on a metric space (not essentially complete) endowed with an arbitrary binary relation. Our results extend, generalize, modify and unify several known results especially those contained in Samet and Turinici [Commun. Math. Anal. 13, 82-97 (2012)] and Alam and Imdad [J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 17(4), 693-702 (2015)]. Interestingly a corollary to one of our main results proved under symmetric closure of any binary relation remains a sharpened version of a theorem due to Samet and Turinici. Finally, we use examples to highlight the realized improvements in the results proved in this paper.

Unified multi-tupled fixed point theorems involving mixed monotone property in ordered metric spaces

In the present article, we introduce a unified notion of multi-tupled fixed points and utilize the same to prove some existence and uniqueness unified multi-tupled fixed point theorems for Boyd-Wong type nonlinear contractions satisfying generalized mixed monotone property in ordered metric spaces. Our results unify several classical and well-known n-tupled (including coupled, tripled and quadrupled ones) fixed point results existing in the literature.

Unified multi-tupled fixed point theorems involving monotone property in ordered metric spaces

In this paper, we introduce a generalized notion of monotone property and prove some results regarding existence and uniqueness of multi-tupled fixed points for nonlinear contraction mappings satisfying monotone property in ordered complete metric spaces. Our results unify several classical and well known n-tupled (including coupled, tripled and quadruple ones) fixed point results existing in literature.

Comparable linear contractions in ordered metric spaces

In this paper, with a view to improve the g-monotonicity condition, we introduce the notion of g-comparability of a mapping defined on an ordered set and utilize the same to prove some existence and uniqueness results on coincidence points for linear contraction without g-monotonicity in ordered metric spaces. Our results extend some classical and well known results due to Ran and Reurings (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132(2004), no.5, 1435-1443), Nieto and Rodriguez-Lopez (Acta Math. Sin. 23(2007), no.12, 2205-2212), Turinici (Libertas Math. 31(2011), 49-55), Turinici (Math. Student 81(2012), no.1-4, 219-229) and Doric et al. (RACSAM 108(2014), no.2, 503-510) and similar others.
