Credit Spreads' Term Structure: Stochastic Modeling with CIR++ Intensity

This paper introduces a novel stochastic model for credit spreads. The stochastic approach leverages the diffusion of default intensities via a CIR++ model and is formulated within a risk-neutral probability space. Our research primarily addresses two gaps in the literature. The first is the lack of credit spread models founded on a stochastic basis that enables continuous modeling, as many existing models rely on factorial assumptions. The second is the limited availability of models that directly yield a term structure of credit spreads. An intermediate result of our model is the provision of a term structure for the prices of defaultable bonds. We present the model alongside an innovative, practical, and conservative calibration approach that minimizes the error between historical and theoretical volatilities of default intensities. We demonstrate the robustness of both the model and its calibration process by comparing its behavior to historical credit spread values. Our findings indicate that the model not only produces realistic credit spread term structure curves but also exhibits consistent diffusion over time. Additionally, the model accurately fits the initial term structure of implied survival probabilities and provides an analytical expression for the credit spread of any given maturity at any future time.

Mathematical analysis of a delayed SEIRDS epidemics models: deterministic and stochastic approach

The primary goal of this research is to investigate the impact of delay on the dynamics of the Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Recovered-Death and Susceptible (SEIRDS) model, to which we add a stochastic term to account for uncertainty in COVID-19 parameter estimations. We run two models, one deterministic and one stochastic, and show that their solutions exist and are unique. We also numerically investigate the impact of immunity loss on the emerging time of a new wave, as well as the necessary condition for the extinction and persistence of the disease.

Local asymptotic properties for Cox-Ingersoll-Ross process with discrete observations

In this paper, we consider a one-dimensional Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) process whose drift coefficient depends on unknown parameters. Considering the process discretely observed at high frequency, we prove the local asymptotic normality property in the subcritical case, the local asymptotic quadraticity in the critical case, and the local asymptotic mixed normality property in the supercritical case. To obtain these results, we use the Malliavin calculus techniques developed recently for CIR process by Alòs et {\it al.} \cite{AE08} and Altmayer et {\it al.} \cite{AN14} together with the $L^p$-norm estimation for positive and negative moments of the CIR process obtained by Bossy et {\it al.} \cite{BD07} and Ben Alaya et {\it al.} \cite{BK12,BK13}. In this study, we require the same conditions of high frequency $Δ_n\rightarrow 0$ and infinite horizon $nΔ_n\rightarrow\infty$ as in the case of ergodic diffusions with globally Lipschitz coefficients studied earlier by Gobet \cite{G02}. However, in the non-ergodic cases, additional assumptions on the decreasing rate of $Δ_n$ are required due to the fact that the square root diffusion coefficient of the CIR process is not regular enough. Indeed, we assume $nΔ_n^{3}\to 0$ for the critical case and $Δ_n^{2}e^{-b_0nΔ_n}\to 0$ for the supercritical case.

Central limit theorem for the multilevel Monte Carlo Euler method

This paper focuses on studying the multilevel Monte Carlo method recently introduced by Giles [Oper. Res. 56 (2008) 607-617] which is significantly more efficient than the classical Monte Carlo one. Our aim is to prove a central limit theorem of Lindeberg-Feller type for the multilevel Monte Carlo method associated with the Euler discretization scheme. To do so, we prove first a stable law convergence theorem, in the spirit of Jacod and Protter [Ann. Probab. 26 (1998) 267-307], for the Euler scheme error on two consecutive levels of the algorithm. This leads to an accurate description of the optimal choice of parameters and to an explicit characterization of the limiting variance in the central limit theorem of the algorithm. A complexity of the multilevel Monte Carlo algorithm is carried out.
