Conformal bridge transformation, $\mathcal{PT}$- and super- symmetry

Supersymmetric extensions of the 1D and 2D Swanson models are investigated by applying the conformal bridge transformation (CBT) to the first order Berry-Keating Hamiltonian multiplied by $i$ and its conformally neutral enlargements. The CBT plays the role of the Dyson map that transforms the models into supersymmetric generalizations of the 1D and 2D harmonic oscillator systems, allowing us to define pseudo-Hermitian conjugation and a suitable inner product. In the 1D case, we construct a $\mathcal{PT}$-invariant supersymmetric model with $N$ subsystems by using the conformal generators of supersymmetric free particle, and identify its complete set of the true bosonic and fermionic integrals of motion. We also investigate an exotic $N=2$ supersymmetric generalization, in which the higher order supercharges generate nonlinear superalgebras. We generalize the construction for the 2D case to obtain the $\mathcal{PT}$-invariant supersymmetric systems that transform into the spin-1/2 Landau problem with and without an additional Aharonov-Bohm flux, where in the latter case, the well-defined integrals of motion appear only when the flux is quantized. We also build a 2D supersymmetric Hamiltonian related to the "exotic rotational invariant harmonic oscillator" system governed by a dynamical parameter $γ$. The bosonic and fermionic hidden symmetries for this model are shown to exist for rational values of $γ$.

Dynamics, symmetries, anomaly and vortices in a rotating cosmic string background

Non-relativistic conformally invariant systems in a rotating cosmic string (conical) spacetime are analyzed at the classical and quantum levels by means of the gravitoelectromagnetic interpretation of the background. Solutions of the equations of motion are found by employing a local canonical transformation, that leads to their natural interpretation in terms of Riemann surfaces. The cone parameter $α$ and the angular velocity $Ω$ of the background determine the existence of hidden symmetries. Globally defined higher order integrals associated with perihelion of geodesic orbits appear at rational values of $α$. For the harmonic oscillator system with frequency $ω$, the integrals responsible for the trajectory closure arise only for rational values of $α$ and $|γ|=|Ω/ω|$, with $|γ|=1$ corresponding to the Landau problem. We face a quantum anomaly problem since the hidden symmetry operators can only be constructed when $α$ is integer. Such operators are non-local in the case of the free particle. For the harmonic oscillator, the symmetry generators are obtained with the help of the conformal bridge transformation. We also study a multi-particle version of the harmonic oscillator system with $|γ|=1$ using the mean-field theory and find that the emerging vortex structure respects a singular point of the background.

Conformal bridge between asymptotic freedom and confinement

We construct a nonunitary transformation that relates a given "asymptotically free" conformal quantum mechanical system $H_f$ with its confined, harmonically trapped version $H_c$. In our construction, Jordan states corresponding to the zero eigenvalue of $H_f$, as well as its eigenstates and Gaussian packets are mapped into the eigenstates, coherent states and squeezed states of $H_c$, respectively. The transformation is an automorphism of the conformal $\mathfrak{sl}(2,{\mathbb R})$ algebra of the nature of the fourth-order root of the identity transformation, to which a complex canonical transformation corresponds on the classical level being the fourth-order root of the spatial reflection. We investigate the one- and two-dimensional examples that reveal, in particular, a curious relation between the two-dimensional free particle and the Landau problem.

Hidden symmetry and (super)conformal mechanics in a monopole background

We study classical and quantum hidden symmetries of a particle with electric charge $e$ in the background of a Dirac monopole of magnetic charge $g$ subjected to an additional central potential $V(r)=U(r) +(eg)^2/2mr^{2}$ with $U(r)=\tfrac{1}{2}mω^2r^2$, similar to that in the one-dimensional conformal mechanics model of de Alfaro, Fubini and Furlan (AFF). By means of a non-unitary conformal bridge transformation, we establish a relation of the quantum states and of all symmetries of the system with those of the system without harmonic trap, $U(r)=0$. Introducing spin degrees of freedom via a very special spin-orbit coupling, we construct the $\mathfrak{osp}(2,2)$ superconformal extension of the system with unbroken $\mathcal{N}=2$ Poincaré supersymmetry and show that two different superconformal extensions of the one-dimensional AFF model with unbroken and spontaneously broken supersymmetry have a common origin. We also show a universal relationship between the dynamics of a Euclidean particle in an arbitrary central potential $U(r)$ and the dynamics of a charged particle in a monopole background subjected to the potential $V(r)$.

Ground-state isolation and discrete flows in a rationally extended quantum harmonic oscillator

Ladder operators for the simplest version of a rationally extended quantum harmonic oscillator (REQHO) are constructed by applying a Darboux transformation to the quantum harmonic oscillator system. It is shown that the physical spectrum of the REQHO carries a direct sum of a trivial and an infinite-dimensional irreducible representation of the polynomially deformed bosonized osp(1|2) superalgebra. In correspondence with this the ground state of the system is isolated from other physical states but can be reached by ladder operators via non-physical energy eigenstates, which belong to either an infinite chain of similar eigenstates or to the chains with generalized Jordan states. We show that the discrete chains of the states generated by ladder operators and associated with physical energy levels include six basic generalized Jordan states, in comparison with the two basic Jordan states entering in analogous discrete chains for the quantum harmonic oscillator.

Position-dependent mass, finite-gap systems, and supersymmetry

The ordering problem in quantum systems with position-dependent mass (PDM) is treated by inclusion of the classically fictitious similarity transformation into the kinetic term. This provides a generation of supersymmetry with the first order supercharges from the kinetic term alone, while inclusion of the potential term allows also to generate nonlinear supersymmetry with higher order supercharges. A broad class of finite-gap systems with PDM is obtained by different reduction procedures, and general results on supersymmetry generation are applied to them. We show that elliptic finite-gap systems of Lame and Darboux-Treibich-Verdier types can be obtained by reduction to Seiffert's spherical spiral and Bernoulli lemniscate in the presence of Calogero-like or harmonic oscillator potentials, or by angular momentum reduction of a free motion on some AdS_2-related surfaces in the presence of Aharonov-Bohm flux. The limiting cases include the Higgs and Mathews-Lakshmanan oscillator models as well as a reflectionless model with PDM exploited recently in the discussion of cosmological inflationary scenarios.

$PT$-symmetric invisible defects and confluent Darboux-Crum transformations

We show that confluent Darboux-Crum transformations with emergent Jordan states are an effective tool for the design of optical systems governed by the Helmholtz equation under the paraxial approximation. The construction of generic, asymptotically real and periodic, $PT$-symmetric systems with local complex periodicity defects is discussed in detail. We show how the decay rate of the defect is related with the energy of the bound state trapped by the defect. In particular, the bound states in the continuum are confined by the periodicity defects with power law decay. We show that these defects possess complete invisibility; the wave functions of the system coincide asymptotically with the wave functions of the undistorted setting. The general results are illustrated with explicit examples of reflectionless models and systems with one spectral gap. We show that the spectral properties of the studied models are reflected by Lax-Novikov-type integrals of motion and associated supersymmetric structures of bosonized and exotic nature.

Chiral asymmetry in propagation of soliton defects in crystalline backgrounds

By applying Darboux-Crum transformations to a Lax pair formulation of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation, we construct new sets of multi-soliton solutions to it as well as to the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation. The obtained solutions exhibit a chiral asymmetry in propagation of different types of defects in crystalline backgrounds. We show that the KdV solitons of pulse and compression modulation types, which support bound states in semi-infinite and finite forbidden bands in the spectrum of the perturbed quantum one-gap Lame system, propagate in opposite directions with respect to the asymptotically periodic background. A similar but more complicated picture also appears for the multi-kink-antikink mKdV solitons that propagate with a privileged direction over topologically trivial or topologically nontrivial crystalline background in dependence on position of energy levels of the trapped bound states in the spectral gaps of the associated Dirac system. An exotic N=4 nonlinear supersymmetric structure incorporating Lax-Novikov integrals of a pair of perturbed Lame systems is shown to underlie the Miura-Darboux-Crum construction. It unifies the KdV and mKdV solutions, detects the defects and distinguishes their types, and identifies the types of crystalline backgrounds.

Particle in a self-dual dyon background: hidden free nature, and exotic superconformal symmetry

We show that a non-relativistic particle in a combined field of a magnetic monopole and 1/r^2 potential reveals a hidden, partially free dynamics when the strength of the central potential and the charge-monopole coupling constant are mutually fitted to each other. In this case the system admits both a conserved Laplace-Runge-Lenz vector and a dynamical conformal symmetry. The supersymmetrically extended system corresponds then to a background of a self-dual or anti-self-dual dyon. It is described by a quadratically extended Lie superalgebra D(2,1;alpha) with alpha=1/2, in which the bosonic set of generators is enlarged by a generalized Laplace-Runge-Lenz vector and its dynamical integral counterpart related to Galilei symmetry, as well as by the chiral Z_2-grading operator. The odd part of the nonlinear superalgebra comprises a complete set of 24=2 x 3 x 4 fermionic generators. Here a usual duplication comes from the Z_2-grading structure, the second factor can be associated with a triad of scalar integrals --- the Hamiltonian, the generator of special conformal transformations and the squared total angular momentum vector, while the quadruplication is generated by a chiral spin vector integral which exits due to the (anti)-self-dual nature of the electromagnetic background.

Soliton defects in one-gap periodic system and exotic supersymmetry

By applying Darboux-Crum transformations to the quantum one-gap Lame system, we introduce an arbitrary countable number of bound states into forbidden bands. The perturbed potentials are reflectionless and contain two types of soliton defects in the periodic background. The bound states with finite number of nodes are supported in the lower forbidden band by the periodicity defects of the potential well type, while the pulse type bound states in the gap have infinite number of nodes and are trapped by defects of the compression modulations nature. We investigate the exotic nonlinear N=4 supersymmetric structure in such paired Schrodinger systems, which extends an ordinary N=2 supersymmetry and involves two bosonic generators composed from Lax-Novikov integrals of the subsystems. One of the bosonic integrals has a nature of a central charge, and allows us to liaise the obtained systems with the stationary equations of the Korteweg-de Vries and modified Korteweg-de Vries hierarchies. This exotic supersymmetry opens the way for the construction of self-consistent condensates based on the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations and associated with them new solutions to the Gross-Neveu model. They correspond to the kink or kink-antikink defects of the crystalline background in dependence on whether the exotic supersymmetry is unbroken or spontaneously broken.

Transmutations of supersymmetry through soliton scattering, and self-consistent condensates

We consider the two most general families of the (1+1)D Dirac systems with transparent scalar potentials, and two related families of the paired reflectionless Schrodinger operators. The ordinary N=2 supersymmetry for such Schrodinger pairs is enlarged up to an exotic N=4 nonlinear centrally extended supersymmetric structure, which involves two bosonic integrals composed from the Lax-Novikov operators for the stationary Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy. Each associated single Dirac system displays a proper N=2 nonlinear supersymmetry with a non-standard grading operator. One of the two families of the first and second order systems exhibits the unbroken supersymmetry, while another is described by the broken exotic supersymmetry. The two families are shown to be mutually transmuted by applying a certain limit procedure to the soliton scattering data. We relate the topologically trivial and nontrivial transparent potentials with self-consistent inhomogeneous condensates in Bogoliubov-de Gennes and Gross-Neveu models, and indicate the exotic N=4 nonlinear supersymmetry of the paired reflectionless Dirac systems.

Effect of scalings and translations on the supersymmetric quantum mechanical structure of soliton systems

We investigate a peculiar supersymmetry of the pairs of reflectionless quantum mechanical systems described by n-soliton potentials of a general form that depends on n scaling and n translation parameters. We show that if all the discrete energy levels of the subsystems are different, the superalgebra, being insensitive to translation parameters, is generated by two supercharges of differential order 2n, two supercharges of order 2n+1, and two bosonic integrals of order 2n+1 composed from Lax integrals of the partners. The exotic supersymmetry undergoes a reduction when r discrete energy levels of one subsystem coincide with any r discrete levels of the partner, the total order of the two independent intertwining generators reduces then to 4n-2r+1, and the nonlinear superalgebraic structure acquires a dependence on r relative translations. For a complete pairwise coincidence of the scaling parameters which control the energies of the bound states and the transmission scattering amplitudes, the emerging isospectrality is detected by a transmutation of one of the Lax integrals into a bosonic central charge. Within the isospectral class, we reveal a special case giving a new family of finite-gap first order Bogoliubov-de Gennes systems related to the AKNS integrable hierarchy.

Fermion in a multi-kink-antikink soliton background, and exotic supersymmetry

We construct a fermion system in a multi-kink-antikink soliton background, and present in an explicit form all its trapped configurations (bound state solutions) as well as scattering states. This is achieved by exploiting an exotic N=4 centrally extended nonlinear supersymmetry of completely isospectral pairs of reflectionless Schrodinger systems with potentials to be n-soliton solutions for the Korteweg-de Vries equation. The obtained reflectionless Dirac system with a position-dependent mass is shown to possess its own exotic nonlinear supersymmetry associated with the matrix Lax-Novikov operator being a Darboux-dressed momentum. In the process, we get an algebraic recursive representation for the multi-kink-antikink backgrounds, and establish their relation to the the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. We also indicate how the results can be related to the physics of self-consistent condensates based on the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations.

Extended supersymmetry of the self-isospectral crystalline and soliton chains

We study supersymmetric structure of the self-isospectral crystalline chains formed by N copies of the mutually displaced one-gap Lame systems. It is generated by the N(N-1) integrals of motion which are the first order matrix differential operators, by the same number of the nontrivial second order integrals, and by the N third order Lax integrals. We show that the structure admits distinct alternatives for a grading operator, and in dependence on its choice one of the third order matrix integrals plays either the role of the bosonic central charge or the role of the fermionic supercharge to be a square root of the spectral polynomial. Yet another peculiarity is that the set of all the second order integrals of motion generates a nonlinear sub-superalgebra. We also investigate the associated self-isospectral soliton chains, and discuss possible physical applications of the unusual extended supersymmetry.

Kink mass quantum shifts from SUSY quantum mechanics

In this paper a new version of the DHN (Dashen-Hasslacher-Neveu) formula, which is used to compute the one-loop order kink mass correction in (1+1)-dimensional scalar field theory models, is constructed. The new expression is written in terms of the spectral data coming from the supersymmetric partner operator of the second-order small kink fluctuation operator and allows us to compute the kink mass quantum shift in new models for which this calculation was out of reach by means of the old formula.

Self-isospectral tri-supersymmetry in PT-symmetric quantum systems with pure imaginary periodicity

We study a reflectionless PT-symmetric quantum system described by the pair of complexified Scarf II potentials mutually displaced in the half of their pure imaginary period. Analyzing the rich set of intertwining discrete symmetries of the pair, we find an exotic supersymmetric structure based on three matrix differential operators that encode all the properties of the system, including its reflectionless (finite-gap) nature. The structure we revealed particularly sheds new light on the splitting of the discrete states into two families, related to the bound and resonance states in Hermitian Scarf II counterpart systems, on which two different series of irreducible representations of sl(2,C) are realized.

Spectral singularities in PT-symmetric periodic finite-gap systems

The origin of spectral singularities in finite-gap singly periodic PT-symmetric quantum systems is investigated. We show that they emerge from a limit of band-edge states in a doubly periodic finite gap system when the imaginary period tends to infinity. In this limit, the energy gaps are contracted and disappear, every pair of band states of the same periodicity at the edges of a gap coalesces and transforms into a singlet state in the continuum. As a result, these spectral singularities turn out to be analogous to those in the non-periodic systems, where they appear as zero-width resonances. Under the change of topology from a non-compact into a compact one, spectral singularities in the class of periodic systems we study are transformed into exceptional points. The specific degeneration related to the presence of finite number of spectral singularities and exceptional points is shown to be coherently reflected by a hidden, bosonized nonlinear supersymmetry.

Supersymmetric twisting of carbon nanotubes

We construct exactly solvable models of twisted carbon nanotubes via supersymmetry, by applying the matrix Darboux transformation. We derive the Green's function for these systems and compute the local density of states. Explicit examples of twisted carbon nanotubes are produced, where the back-scattering is suppressed and bound states are present. We find that the local density of states decreases in the regions where the bound states are localized. Dependence of bound-state energies on the asymptotic twist of the nanotubes is determined. We also show that each of the constructed unextended first order matrix systems possesses a proper nonlinear hidden supersymmetric structure with a nontrivial grading operator.

Exotic supersymmetry of the kink-antikink crystal, and the infinite period limit

Some time ago, Thies et al. showed that the Gross-Neveu model with a bare mass term possesses a kink-antikink crystalline phase. Corresponding self-consistent solutions, known earlier in polymer physics, are described by a self-isospectral pair of one-gap periodic Lame potentials with a Darboux displacement depending on the bare mass. We study an unusual supersymmetry of such a second order Lame system, and show that the associated first order Bogoliubov-de Gennes Hamiltonian possesses the own nonlinear supersymmetry. The Witten index is ascertained to be zero for both of the related exotic supersymmetric structures, each of which admits several alternatives for the choice of a grading operator. A restoration of the discrete chiral symmetry at zero value of the bare mass, when the kink-antikink crystalline condensate transforms into the kink crystal, is shown to be accompanied by structural changes in both of the supersymmetries. We find that the infinite period limit may or may not change the index. We also explain the origin of the Darboux dressing phenomenon recently observed in a non-periodic self-isospectral one-gap Poschl-Teller system, which describes kink-antikink baryons of Dashen, Hasslacher and Neveu.

Klein tunneling in carbon nanostructures: a free particle dynamics in disguise

The absence of backscattering in metallic nanotubes as well as perfect Klein tunneling in potential barriers in graphene are the prominent electronic characteristics of carbon nanostructures. We show that the phenomena can be explained by a peculiar supersymmetry generated by a first order Hamiltonian and zero order supercharge operators. Like the supersymmetry associated with second order reflectionless finite-gap systems, it relates here the low-energy behavior of the charge carriers with the free particle dynamics.

Bosons, fermions and anyons in the plane, and supersymmetry

Universal vector wave equations allowing for a unified description of anyons, and also of usual bosons and fermions in the plane are proposed. The existence of two essentially different types of anyons, based on unitary and also on non-unitary infinite-dimensional half-bounded representations of the (2+1)D Lorentz algebra is revealed. Those associated with non-unitary representations interpolate between bosons and fermions. The extended formulation of the theory includes the previously known Jackiw-Nair (JN) and Majorana-Dirac (MD) descriptions of anyons as particular cases, and allows us to compose bosons and fermions from entangled anyons. The theory admits a simple supersymmetric generalization, in which the JN and MD systems are unified in N=1 and N=2 supermultiplets. Two different non-relativistic limits of the theory are investigated. The usual one generalizes Levy-Leblond's spin 1/2 theory to arbitrary spin, as well as to anyons. The second, "Jackiw-Nair" limit (that corresponds to Inonu-Wigner contraction with both anyon spin and light velocity going to infinity), is generalized to boson/fermion fields and interpolating anyons. The resulting exotic Galilei symmetry is studied in both the non-supersymmetric and the supersymmetric cases.

Hidden superconformal symmetry of spinless Aharonov-Bohm system

A hidden supersymmetry is revealed in the spinless Aharonov-Bohm problem. The intrinsic supersymmetric structure is shown to be intimately related with the scale symmetry. As a result, a bosonized superconformal symmetry is identified in the system. Different self-adjoint extensions of the Aharonov-Bohm problem are studied in the light of this superconformal structure and interacting anyons. Scattering problem of the original Aharonov-Bohm model is discussed in the context of the revealed supersymmetry.

Self-isospectrality, mirror symmetry, and exotic nonlinear supersymmetry

We study supersymmetry of a self-isospectral one-gap Poschl-Teller system in the light of a mirror symmetry that is based on spatial and shift reflections. The revealed exotic, partially broken nonlinear supersymmetry admits seven alternatives for a grading operator. One of its local, first order supercharges may be identified as a Hamiltonian of an associated one-gap, non-periodic Bogoliubov-de Gennes system. The latter possesses a nonlinear supersymmetric structure, in which any of the three non-local generators of a Clifford algebra may be chosen as the grading operator. We find that the supersymmetry generators for the both systems are the Darboux-dressed integrals of a free spin-1/2 particle in the Schrodinger picture, or of a free massive Dirac particle. Nonlocal Foldy- Wouthuysen transformations are shown to be involved in the supersymmetric structure.

Supersymmetries of the spin-1/2 particle in the field of magnetic vortex, and anyons

The quantum nonrelativistic spin-1/2 planar systems in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field are known to possess the N=2 supersymmetry. We consider such a system in the field of a magnetic vortex, and find that there are just two self-adjoint extensions of the Hamiltonian that are compatible with the standard N=2 supersymmetry. We show that only in these two cases one of the subsystems coincides with the original spinless Aharonov-Bohm model and comes accompanied by the super-partner Hamiltonian which allows a singular behavior of the wave functions. We find a family of additional, nonlocal integrals of motion and treat them together with local supercharges in the unifying framework of the tri-supersymmetry. The inclusion of the dynamical conformal symmetries leads to an infinitely generated superalgebra, that contains several representations of the superconformal osp(2|2) symmetry. We present the application of the results in the framework of the two-body model of identical anyons. The nontrivial contact interaction and the emerging N=2 linear and nonlinear supersymmetries of the anyons are discussed.

Supersymmetry of the planar Dirac - Deser-Jackiw-Templeton system, and of its non-relativistic limit

The planar Dirac and the topologically massive vector gauge fields are unified into a supermultiplet involving no auxiliary fields. The superPoincaré symmetry emerges from the $osp(1|2)$ supersymmetry realized in terms of the deformed Heisenberg algebra underlying the construction. The non-relativistic limit yields spin 1/2 as well as new, spin 1 "Lévy-Leblond-type" equations which, together, carry an N=2 superSchrödinger symmetry. Part of the latter has its origin in the universal enveloping algebra of the superPoincaré algebra.

The origin of the hidden supersymmetry

The hidden supersymmetry and related tri-supersymmetric structure of the free particle system, the Dirac delta potential problem and the Aharonov-Bohm effect (planar, bound state, and tubule models) are explained by a special nonlocal unitary transformation, which for the usual N=2 supercharges has a nature of Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation. We show that in general case, the bosonized supersymmetry of nonlocal, parity even systems emerges in the same construction, and explain the origin of the unusual N=2 supersymmetry of electron in three-dimensional parity even magnetic field. The observation extends to include the hidden superconformal symmetry.

Electric Chern-Simons term, enlarged exotic Galilei symmetry and noncommutative plane

The extended exotic planar model for a charged particle is constructed. It includes a Chern-Simons-like term for a dynamical electric field, but produces usual equations of motion for the particle in background constant uniform electric and magnetic fields. The electric Chern-Simons term is responsible for the non-commutativity of the boost generators in the ten-dimensional enlarged exotic Galilei symmetry algebra of the extended system. The model admits two reduction schemes by the integrals of motion, one of which reproduces the usual formulation for the charged particle in external constant electric and magnetic fields with associated field-deformed Galilei symmetry, whose commuting boost generators are identified with the nonlocal in time Noether charges reduced on-shell. Another reduction scheme, in which electric field transmutes into the commuting space translation generators, extracts from the model a free particle on the noncommutative plane described by the two-fold centrally extended Galilei group of the non-relativistic anyons.

Anyon wave equations and the noncommutative plane

The ``Jackiw-Nair'' non-relativistic limit of the relativistic anyon equations provides us with infinite-component wave equations of the Dirac-Majorana-Levy-Leblond type for the ``exotic'' particle, associated with the two-fold central extension of the planar Galilei group. An infinite dimensional representation of the Galilei group is found. The velocity operator is studied, and the observable coordinates describing a noncommutative plane are identified.

Interaction via reduction and nonlinear superconformal symmetry

We show that the reduction of a planar free spin-1/2 particle system by the constraint fixing its total angular momentum produces the one-dimensional Akulov-Pashnev-Fubini-Rabinovici superconformal mechanics model with the nontrivially coupled boson and fermion degrees of freedom. The modification of the constraint by including the particle's spin with the relative weight $n\in \N$, $n>1$, and subsequent application of the Dirac reduction procedure (`first quantize and then reduce') give rise to the anomaly free quantum system with the order $n$ nonlinear superconformal symmetry constructed recently in hep-th/0304257. We establish the origin of the quantum corrections to the integrals of motion generating the nonlinear superconformal algebra, and fix completely its form.

preprint2003arXiv

Superconformal mechanics and nonlinear supersymmetry

We show that a simple change of the classical boson-fermion coupling constant, $2α\to 2αn $, $n\in \N$, in the superconformal mechanics model gives rise to a radical change of a symmetry: the modified classical and quantum systems are characterized by the nonlinear superconformal symmetry. It is generated by the four bosonic integrals which form the so(1,2) x u(1) subalgebra, and by the 2(n+1) fermionic integrals constituting the two spin-n/2 so(1,2)-representations and anticommuting for the order n polynomials of the even generators. We find that the modified quantum system with an integer value of the parameter $α$ is described simultaneously by the two nonlinear superconformal symmetries of the orders relatively shifted in odd number. For the original quantum model with $|α|=p$, $p\in \N$, this means the presence of the order 2p nonlinear superconformal symmetry in addition to the osp(2|2) supersymmetry.

Non-relativistic anyons, exotic Galilean symmetry and noncommutative plane

We show that the Lukierski et al. model, invariant with respect to the two-fold centrally extended Galilei group, can be decomposed into an infinite number of independent copies (differing in their spin) of the ``exotic'' particle of Duval et al. The difference between the two models is found to be sensitive to electromagnetic coupling. The nature of the noncommutative plane coordinates is discussed in the light of the exotic Galilean symmetry. We prove that the first model, interpreted as describing a non-relativistic anyon, is the non-relativistic limit of a particle with torsion related to relativistic anyons.

Minimal bosonization of supersymmetry

The minimal bosonization of supersymmetry in terms of one bosonic degree of freedom is considered. A nontrivial relationship of the construction to the Witten supersymmetric quantum mechanics is illustrated with the help of the simplest $N=2$ SUSY system realized on the basis of the ordinary (undeformed) bosonic oscillator. It is shown that the generalization of such a construction to the case of Vasiliev deformed bosonic oscillator gives a supersymmetric extension of the 2-body Calogero model in the phase of exact or spontaneously broken $N=2$ SUSY. The construction admits an extension to the case of the OSp(2$\vert$2) supersymmetry, and, as a consequence, $osp(2\vert 2)$ superalgebra is revealed as a dynamical symmetry algebra for the bosonized supersymmetric Calogero model. Realizing the Klein operator as a parity operator, we construct the bosonized Witten supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Here the general case of the corresponding bosonized $N=2$ SUSY is given by an odd function being a superpotential.

Anyons: Minimal and Extended Formulations

The minimal (reduced) and extended canonical formulations for (2+1)-dimensional fractional spin particles are considered. We investigate the relationship between them, clearing up the meaning of the coordinates for such particles, and analyse the related question of correlation between spin and momentum. The classical lagrangian corresponding to the extended canonical formulation is constructed, and its gauge symmetries are identified.
