Uniqueness of electric-magnetic spacetimes with massive particle

Uniqueness of the four-dimensional static, asymptotically flat, Einstein-Maxwell spacetime with both electric and magnetic charges, containing non-extremal massive particle sphere, being an inner boundary in it, has been proved. It is isometric to Reissner-Nordström spacetime with electric/magnetic charges. In contrast to the previous results concerning the classification of photon spheres, it describes the existence of the entire set of spacetme foliations, a set of massive particle sphere addressed to the various energies of the particles. The conformal positive energy, positive mass theorem and adequate conformal transformations constitute the mail tools in the proof.

Classification of static black holes in Einstein phantom/dilaton Maxwell/anti-Maxwell gravity systems

The uniqueness theorem for static, spherically symmetric, asymptotically flat, higher dimensional phantom black holes, with non-degenerate event horizon , being the solutions of Einstein phantom/dilaton Maxwell/anti-Maxwell gravity systems is considered. Conformal positive energy theorem and conformal transformations authorize the crucial tools for exploiting the boundary conditions and conformal flatness.

Static axionlike dark matter clouds around magnetized rotating wormholes -- probe limit case

The problem of the distribution of axionlike particle, being the model of dark matter, in the nearby of rotating wormholes has been investigated numerically. In the model in question the axion scalar is non-trivially coupled to the Maxwell gauge field. We consider two toy models of rotating wormholes embedded in magnetic field, Kerr-like and Teo rotating wormholes. Moreover one assumes that the matter fields will not backreact on the wormhole spacetimes, i.e., we shall study the problem in the probe limit case. We point out the differences in the distribution of dark matter comparing to the location of it in the vicinity of rotating magnetized black holes.

Conductivity bound of the strongly interacting and disordered graphene from gauge/gravity duality

The carriers in graphene tuned close to the Dirac point envisage signatures of the strongly interacting fluid and are subject to hydrodynamic description. The important question is whether strong disorder induces the metal-insulator transition in this two-dimensional material. The bound on the conductivity tensor found earlier within the single current description, implies that the system does not feature metal-insulator transition. The linear spectrum of the graphene imposes the phase-space constraints and calls for the two-current description of interacting electron and hole liquids. Based on the gauge/gravity correspondence, using the linear response of the black brane with broken translation symmetry in Einstein-Maxwell gravity with the auxiliary U(1)-gauge field, responsible for the second current, we have calculated the lower bound of the DC-conductivity in holographic model of graphene. The calculations show that the bound on the conductivity depends on the coupling between both U(1) fields and for a physically justified range of parameters it departs only weakly from the value found for a model with the single U(1) field.

Holographic DC SQUID in the presence of dark matter

The gauge-gravity duality has been applied to examine the properties of holographic superconducting quantum device (SQUID), composed of two S-N-S Josephson junctions, influenced by dark sector modelled by the additional $U(1)$-gauge field coupled to the ordinary Maxwell one. The dark matter sector is known to affect the properties of superconductors and is expected to enter the current-phase relation. The kinetic mixing between two gauge fields provides a mechanism allowing for the conceivable observation of the effect. We find small but visible effect of the dark matter particle traversing the device, which shows up as a change of its maximal current.

Influence of dark matter on black hole scalar hair

Searches for {\it dark matter} sector field imprints on the astrophysical phenomena are one of the most active branches of the current researches. Using numerical methods we elaborate the influence of {\it dark matter} on the emergence of black hole hair and formation of boson stars. We explore thermodynamics of different states of the system in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar {\it dark matter} theory with box boundary conditions. Finally we find that the presence of dark sector within the system diminishes a chance of formation of scalar hair around a black hole.

Condensate flow in holographic models in the presence of dark matter

Holographic model of a three-dimensional current carrying superconductor or superfluid with {\it dark matter} sector described by the additional $U(1)$-gauge field coupled to the ordinary Maxwell one, has been studied in the probe limit. We investigated analytically by the Sturm-Liouville variational method, the holographic s-wave and p-wave models in the background of the AdS soliton as well as five-dimensional AdS black hole spacetimes. The two models of p-wave superfluids were considered, the so called $SU(2)$ and the Maxwell-vector. Special attention has been paid to the dependence of the critical chemical potential and critical transition temperature on the velocity of the condensate and {\it dark matter} parameters. The current $J$ in holographic three-dimensional superconductor studied here, shows the linear dependence on $T_c-T$ for both s and p-wave symmetry. This is in a significant contrast with the previously obtained results for two-dimensional superconductors, which reveal the $(T-T_c)^{3/2}$ temperature dependence. The coupling constant $α$, as well as, chemical potential $μ_D$ and the velocity $S_D$ of the {\it dark matter}, affect the critical chemical potential of the p-wave holographic $SU(2)$ system. On the other hand, $α$, {\it dark matter} velocity $S_D$ and density $ρ_D$ determine the actual value of the transition temperature of the same superconductor/superfluid set up. However, the {\it dark matter} does not affect the value of the current.

P-wave holographic superconductor/insulator phase transitions affected by dark matter sector

The holographic approach to building the p-wave superconductors results in three different models: the Maxwell-vector, the SU(2) Yang-Mills and the helical. In the probe limit approximation, we analytically examine the properties of the first two models in the theory with {\it dark matter} sector. It turns out that the effect of {\it dark matter} on the Maxwell-vector p-wave model is the same as on the s-wave superconductor studied earlier. For the non-Abelian model we study the phase transitions between p-wave holographic insulator/superconductor and metal/superconductor. Studies of marginally stable modes in the theory under consideration allow us to determine features of p-wave holographic droplet in a constant magnetic field. The dependence of the superconducting transition temperature on the coupling constant $α$ to the {\it dark matter} sector is affected by the {\it dark matter} density $ρ_D$. For $ρ_D>ρ$ the transition temperature is a decreasing function of $α$. The critical chemical potential $μ_c$ for the quantum phase transition between insulator and metal depends on the chemical potential of dark matter $μ_D$ and for $μ_D=0$ is a decreasing function of $α$.

Static configurations and evolution of higher dimensional brane-dilaton black hole system

Static configurations and a dynamical evolution of the system composed of a higher-dimensional spherically symmetric dilaton black hole and the Dirac-Goto-Nambu brane were investigated. The studies were conducted for three values of the dilaton coupling constant, describing the uncoupled case, the low-energy limit of the string theory and dimensionally reduced Klein-Kaluza theories. When the black hole is nonextremal, two types of static configurations are observed, a brane which intersects the black hole horizon and a brane not having any common points with the accompanying black hole. As the number of spacetime dimensions increases, the brane bend in the vicinity of the black hole disappears closer to its horizon. Dynamical evolution of the system results in an expulsion of the black hole from the brane. It proceeds faster for bigger values of the bulk spacetime dimension and thicker branes. The value of the dilatonic coupling constant does not influence neither the static configurations nor the dynamical behavior of the examined nonextremal system. In the extremal dilaton black hole case one obtains expulsion of the brane which is independent on the spacetime dimensionality and the value of the coupling constant. Dynamical studies of the configurations in the extremal case reveal that the course of evolution of the system is similar to the nonextremal one, except for a slightly earlier expulsion of the black hole from the brane.

Viscosity of holographic fluid in the presence of dark matter sector

Based on the gauge/gravity correspondence, the hydrodynamic response coefficients, shear and Hall viscosities, have been studied. The holographic model of Einstein-Maxwell- AdS $(3+1)$-dimensional system additionally coupled with the another gauge field mimicking the {\it dark matter} sector, as well as, gravitational Chern-Simons term bounded with a dynamical scalar field, were taken into account. Condensation of the scalar field provides the parity violating term. Both shear and Hall viscosities have been calculated and their dependence on $α$ - the coupling constant between matter and {\it dark matter} sectors has been studied. To the lowest order in the derivative expansion and perturbation in $α$, the shear viscosity is not influenced by the {\it dark matter}, while the Hall component linearly depends on $α$.

Analytic investigation of holographic phase transitions influenced by dark matter sector

We analytically study the phase transitions between s-wave holographic insulator/superconductor and metal/superconductor. The problem is solved by the variational method for the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem in the theory with dark matter sector of U(1)-gauge field coupled to the Maxwell field. Additionally in the probe limit we investigate the marginally stable modes of scalar perturbations in the AdS solitonic background, connected with magnetic field in the dark matter sector. We have found that even with dark matter sector the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ is proportional to charge density $ρ$ in power 1/3. This value seem to be strong coupling modification of the exponent 2/3 known from the Bose - Einstein condensation of charged local pair bosons in narrow band superconductors. The holographic droplet solution is affected by the coupling to the dark matter. Interestingly in the probe limit the critical chemical potential increases with the decreasing coupling to dark matter making the condensation transition harder to appear.

Dark sector impact on gravitational collapse of an electrically charged scalar field

Dark matter and dark energy are dominating components of the Universe. Their presence affects the course and results of processes, which are driven by the gravitational interaction. The objective of the paper was to examine the influence of the dark sector on the gravitational collapse of an electrically charged scalar field. A phantom scalar field was used as a model of dark energy in the system. Dark matter was modeled by a complex scalar field with a quartic potential, charged under a U(1)-gauge field. The dark components were coupled to the electrically charged scalar field via the exponential coupling and the gauge field-Maxwell field kinetic mixing, respectively. Complete non-linear simulations of the investigated process were performed. They were conducted from regular initial data to the end state, which was the matter dispersal or a singularity formation in a spacetime. During the collapse in the presence of dark energy dynamical wormholes and naked singularities were formed in emerging spacetimes. The wormhole throats were stabilized by the violation of the null energy condition, which occurred due to a significant increase of a value of the phantom scalar field function in its vicinity. The square of mass parameter of the dark matter scalar field potential controlled the formation of a Cauchy horizon or wormhole throats in the spacetime. The joint impact of dark energy and dark matter on the examined process indicated that the former decides what type of an object forms, while the latter controls the amount of time needed for the object to form. Additionally, the dark sector suppresses the natural tendency of an electrically charged scalar field to form a dynamical Reissner-Nordström spacetime during the gravitational collapse.

Holographic vortices in the presence of dark matter sector

The {\it dark matter} seem to be an inevitable ingredient of the total matter configuration in the Universe and the knowledge how the {\it dark matter} affects the properties of superconductors is of vital importance for the experiments aimed at its direct detection. The homogeneous magnetic field acting perpendicularly to the surface of (2+1) dimensional s-wave holographic superconductor in the theory with {\it dark matter} sector has been modeled by the additional $U(1)$-gauge field representing dark matter and coupled to the Maxwell one. As expected the free energy for the vortex configuration turns out to be negative. Importantly its value is lower in the presence of {\it dark matter} sector. This feature can explain why in the Early Universe first the web of {\it dark matter} appeared and next on these gratings the ordinary matter forming cluster of galaxies has formed.

Mass angular momentum and charge inequalities for black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-axion-dilaton gravity

Mass angular momentum and charge inequalities for axisymmetric maximal time-symmetric initial data invariant under an action of U(1) group, in Einstein-Maxwell-axion-dilaton gravity being the low-energy limit of the heterotic string theory, is established. We assume that data set with two asymptotically flat regions is given on smooth simply connected manifold. We also pay attention to the area momentum charge inequalities for a closed orintabler two-dimensional spacelike surface embedded in the spacetime of the considered theory.

Static black holes and strictly static spacetimes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with gauge field

We examine strictly static asymptotically flat spacetimes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with U(1) gauge field, revealing that, up to small curvature corrections, confomally flat slices of the spacetime in question are of Minkowski origin. We consider uncharged and charged black hole solutions in the theory, showing that, up to the small curvature limit, they are diffeomorphic to Schwarzschild_Tangherlini or Reissner-Nordstrom solutions, respectively.

Abelian-Higgs hair on stationary axisymmetric black hole in Einstein-Maxwell-axion-dilaton gravity

We studied, both analytically and numerically, an Abelian Higgs vortex in the spacetime of stationary axisymmetric black hole being the solution of the low-energy limit of the heterotic string theory, acted as hair on the black hole background. Taking into account the gravitational backreaction of the vortex we show that its influence is far more subtle than causing only a conical defect. As a consequence of its existence, we found that the ergosphere was shifted as well as event horizon angular velocity was affected by its presence. Numerical simulations reveal the strong dependence of the vortex behaviour on the black hole charge and mass of the Higgs boson. For large masses of the Higgs boson and large value of the charge, black hole is always pierced by an Abelian Higgs vortex, while small values of the charge and Higgs boson mass lead to the expulsion of Higgs field.

Fate of Yang-Mills black hole in early Universe

According to the Big Bang Theory as we go back in time the Universe becomes progressively hotter and denser. This leads us to believe that the early Universe was filled with hot plasma of elementary particles. Among many questions concerning this phase of history of the Universe there are questions of existence and fate of magnetic monopoles and primordial black holes. Static solution of Einstein-Yang-Mills system may be used as a toy model for such a black hole. Using methods of field theory we will show that its existence and regularity depend crucially on the presence of fermions around it.

Phantom collapse of electrically charged scalar field in dilaton gravity

Our research focus on gravitational collapse of electrically charged scalar field in dilaton gravity and in the presence of phantom coupling. We examine dynamical behaviour of the scalar field coupled to Maxwell field when gravitational interactions have form consistent with the low-energy limit of the string theory. Moreover, we allow the evolving fields to have negative sign in front of the respective kinetic term of the Lagrangian. The main aim of our studies is to investigate in what manner does the phantom nature of either Maxwell or dilaton fields (or both of them) affect the outcomes of the collapse. It turns out that the influence is crucial to the obtained spacetime structures. Negative kinetic energy of one (or both) of the fields delays, changes the course or even prevents the collapse.

Uniqueness of charged static asymptotically flat black holes in dynamical Chern-Simons gravity

Making use of the conformal positive energy theorem we prove the uniqueness of four-dimensional static electrically charged black holes being the solution of Chern-Simons dynamical gravity equations of motion. We assume that black hole spacetime contains an asymptotically flat spacelike hypersurface with compact interior and non-degenerate components of the event horizon.

Can Dirac fermions Destroy Yang-Mills Black Hole?

We study the four-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills black hole in the presence of Dirac fermion field. Assuming a spherically symmetric static asymptotically flat black hole spacetime we consider both massless and massive fermion fields. The (4+1)-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills system effectively reducing to Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs-dilaton model, was also taken into account. One finds that fermion vacuum leads to the destruction of black holes in question.

Dilatons and the Dynamical Collapse of Charged Scalar Field

We studied the influence of dilaton field on the dynamical collapse of a charged scalar one. Different values of the initial amplitude of dilaton field as well as the altered values of the dilatonic coupling constant were considered. We described structures of spacetimes and properties of black holes emerging from the collapse of electrically charged scalar field in dilaton gravity. Moreover, we provided a meaningful comparison of the collapse in question with the one in Einstein gravity, when dilaton field is absent and its coupling with the scalar field is equal to zero. The course and results of the dynamical collapse process seem to be very sensitive to the amplitude of dilaton field and to the value of the coupling constant in the underlying theory.

Dynamical Collapse of Charged Scalar Field in Phantom Gravity

We investigated the problem of the dynamical collapse of a self-gravitating complex charged scalar field in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory with a phantom copuling for the adequate fields in the system under consideration. We also considered two simplifications of it, i.e., the separate collapses of phantom Maxwell and phantom scalar fields under the influence of Einstein gravity. One starts with the regular spacetime and leads the evolution through the formation of the horizons and the final singularity. We discuss the structures of spacetimes emerging in the process of the dynamical collapse and comment on the role of the considered fields in its course.

Neutrino Oscillations in Strong Gravitational Fields

Neutrinos do oscillate, which up to our best knowledge implies that they are massive particles. As such, neutrinos should interact with gravitational fields. As their masses are tiny, the gravitational fields must be extremely strong. In this paper we study the influence of black holes described by non-trivial topologies on the neutrino oscillations. We present approximate analytical and numerical solutions of certain specific cases.

Superconducting Hair on Charged Black String Background

Behaviour of Dirac fermions in the background of a charged black string penetrated by an Abelian Higgs vortex is elaborated. One finds the evidence that the system under consideration can support fermion fields acting like a superconducting cosmic string in the sence that a nontrivial Dirac fermion field can be carried by the system in question. The case of nonextremal and extremal black string vortex systems were considered. The influence of electric and Higgs charge, the winding number and the fermion mass on the fermion localization near the black string event horizon was studied. It turned out that the extreme charged black string expelled fermion fields more violently comparing to the nonextremal one.

Euclidean Dilaton Black Hole Vortex and Dirac Fermions

We considered the behaviour of Dirac fermion modes in the background of Euclidean dilaton black hole with an Abelian Higgs vortex passing through it. Fermions were coupled to the fields due to the superconducting string model. The case of nonextremal and extremal charged black hole in the theory with arbitrary coupling constant between dilaton field and U(1)-gauge field were considered. We elaborated the cases of zero and non-zero Dirac fermion modes. One finds the evidence that the system under consideration can support fermion fields acting like superconducting hair on black hole in the sence that nontrivial spinor field configuration can be carried by Euclidean spherically symmetric charged dilaton black hole. It was revealed that the localization of Dirac fermion modes depended on the cosmic string winding number and the value of black hole surface gravity.

Dirac Fermions in Non-trivial Topology Black Hole Backgrounds

We discuss the behaviour of the Dirac fermions in a general spherically symmetric black hole background with a non-trivial topology of the event horizon. Both massive and massless cases are taken into account. The analytical studies of intermediate and late-time behaviour of massive Dirac hair in the background of a black hole with a global monopole and dilaton black hole pierced by a cosmic string will be conducted. It was revealed that in the case of a global monopole swallowed by a static black hole the intermediate late-time behaviour depends on the mass of the Dirac field, the multiple number of the wave mode and the global monopole parameter. The late-time behaviour is quite independent of these factors and has the decay rate proportional to $t^{-5/6}$. As far as the black hole pierced by a cosmic string is concerned the intermediate late-time behaviour depends only on the hair mass and the multipole number of the wave mode while the late-time behaviour dependence is the same as in the previous case. The main modification stems from the topology of the $S^2$ sphere pierced by a cosmic string. This factor modifies the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator acting on the transverse manifold.

Influence of a Brane Tension on Phantom and Massive Scalar Field Emission

We elaborate the signature of the extra dimensions and brane tension in the process of phantom and massive scalar emission in the spacetime of (4+n)-dimensional tense brane black hole. Absorption cross section, luminosity of Hawking radiation and cross section in the low-energy approximation were found. We envisage that parameter connected with the existence of a brane imprints its role in the Hawking radiation of the considered fields.

Decay of Massive Dirac Hair on a Brane-World Black Hole

We investigate the intermediate and late-time behaviour of the massive Dirac spinor field in the background of static spherically symmetric brane-world black hole solutions. The intermediate asymptotic behaviour of the massive spinor field exhibits a dependence on the field's parameter mass as well as the multiple number of the wave mode. On the other hand, the late-time behaviour power law decay has a rate which is independent of those factors.

Black Rings and the Physical Process Version of the First Law of Thermodynamics

We consider the problem of physical process version of the first law of black ring thermodynamics in n-dimensional Einstein gravity with additional (p+1)-form field strength and dilaton fields. The first order variations of mass, angular momentum and local charge for black ring was derived. By means of them we prove the physical process version of the first law of thermodynamics for stationary black rings.

Physical Process Version of the First Law of Thermodynamics for Black Holes in Higher Dimensional Gravity

The problem of physical process version of the first law of black hole thermodynamics for charged rotating black hole in n-dimensional gravity is elaborated. The formulae for the first order variations of mass, angular momentum and canonical energy in Einstein (n-2)-gauge form field theory are derived. These variations are expressed by means of the perturbed matter energy momentum tensor and matter current density.

Physical process version of the first law of thermodynamics for black holes in Einstein-Maxwell axion-dilaton gravity

We derive general formulae for the first order variation of the ADM mass, angular momentum for linear perturbations of a stationary background in Einstein-Maxwell axion-dilaton gravity being the low-energy limit of the heterotic string theory. All these variations were expressed in terms of the perturbed matter energy momentum tensor and the perturbed charge current density. Combining these expressions we reached to the form of the {\it physical version} of the first law of black hole dynamics for the stationary black holes in the considered theory being the strong support for the cosmic censorship.

Positivity of the Bondi Energy in Einstein-Maxwell Axion- Dilaton Gravity

We present a proof of the positivity of the Bondi energy in Einstein-Maxwell axion-dilaton gravity, being the low-energy limit of the heterotic string theory. We consider the spacelike hypersurface which asymptotically approaches a null cone and on which the equations of the theory under consideration are given. Next, we generalize the proof allowing the hypersurface having inner boundaries.
