A remark on triviality for the two-dimensional stochastic nonlinear wave equation

We consider the two-dimensional stochastic damped nonlinear wave equation (SdNLW) with the cubic nonlinearity, forced by a space-time white noise. In particular, we investigate the limiting behavior of solutions to SdNLW with regularized noises and establish triviality results in the spirit of the work by Hairer, Ryser, and Weber (2012). More precisely, without renormalization of the nonlinearity, we establish the following two limiting behaviors; (i) in the strong noise regime, we show that solutions to SdNLW with regularized noises tend to 0 as the regularization is removed and (ii) in the weak noise regime, we show that solutions to SdNLW with regularized noises converge to a solution to a deterministic damped nonlinear wave equation with an additional mass term.

On the stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations at critical regularities

We consider the Cauchy problem for the defocusing stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations (SNLS) with an additive noise in the mass-critical and energy-critical settings. By adapting the probabilistic perturbation argument employed in the context of the random data Cauchy theory by the first author with Bényi and Pocovnicu (2015) to the current stochastic PDE setting, we present a concise argument to establish global well-posedness of the mass-critical and energy-critical SNLS.

Scattering for the one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation with exponential nonlinearity

We consider the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the defocusing nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation (NLKG) with exponential nonlinearity in the one spatial dimension with data in the energy space $H^1(\mathbb{R}) \times L^2(\mathbb{R})$. We prove that any energy solution has a global bound of the $L^6_{t,x}$ space-time norm, and hence scatters in $H^1(\mathbb{R}) \times L^2(\mathbb{R})$ as $t\rightarrow\pm \infty$. The proof is based on the argument by Killip-Stovall-Visan (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 364 (2012), no. 3, 1571--1631). However, since well-posedness in $H^{1/2}(\mathbb{R}) \times H^{-1/2}(\mathbb{R})$ for NLKG with the exponential nonlinearity holds only for small initial data, we use the $L_t^6 W^{s-1/2,6}_x$-norm for some $s>\frac{1}{2}$ instead of the $L_{t,x}^6$-norm, where $W_x^{s,p}$ denotes the $s$-th order $L^p$-based Sobolev space.

Asymptotic behavior of solutions to a higher-order KdV-type equation with critical nonlinearity

We consider the Cauchy problem of the higher-order KdV-type equation: \[ \partial_t u + \frac{1}{\mathfrak{m}} |\partial_x|^{\mathfrak{m}-1} \partial_x u = \partial_x (u^{\mathfrak{m}}) \] where $\mathfrak{m} \ge 4$. The nonlinearity is critical in the sense of long-time behavior. Using the method of testing by wave packets, we prove that there exists a unique global solution of the Cauchy problem satisfying the same time decay estimate as that of linear solutions. Moreover, we divide the long-time behavior of the solution into three distinct regions.

Well-posedness for a system of quadratic derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations with radial initial data

In the present paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of the system of quadratic derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations. This system was introduced by M. Colin and T. Colin (2004). The first and second authors obtained some well-posedness results in the Sobolev space $H^{s}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. We improve these results for conditional radial initial data by rewriting the system radial form.

Random data Cauchy theory for the fourth order nonlinear Schrödinger equation with cubic nonlinearity

We consider the Cauchy problem for the fourth order nonlinear Schrödinger equation with derivative nonlinearity $(i\partial _t + Δ^2) u= \pm \partial (|u|^2u)$ on $\mathbb{R} ^d$, $d \ge 3$, with random initial data, where $\partial$ is a first order derivative with respect to the spatial variable, for example a linear combination of $\frac{\partial}{\partial x_1} , \, \dots , \, \frac{\partial}{\partial x_d}$ or $|\nabla |= \mathcal{F}^{-1}[|ξ| \mathcal{F}]$. We prove that almost sure local in time well-posedness, small data global in time well-posedness and scattering hold in $H^s(\mathbb{R} ^d)$ with $\max ( \frac{d-5}{2}, \frac{d-5}{6}) < s$, whose lower bound is below the scale critical regularity $s_c= \frac{d-3}{2}$.
