Exact results for nonequilibrium dynamics in Wigner phase space

We study time evolution of Wigner function of an initially interacting one-dimensional quantum gas following the switch-off of the interactions. For the scenario where at $t=0$ the interactions are suddenly suppressed, we derive a relationship between the dynamical Wigner function and its initial value. A two-particle system initially interacting through two different interactions of Dirac delta type is examined. For a system of particles that is suddenly let to move ballistically (without interactions) in a harmonic trap in d dimensions, and using time evolution of one-body density matrix, we derive a relationship between the time dependent Wigner function and its initial value. Using the inverse Wigner transform we obtain, for an initially harmonically trapped noninteracting particles in $d$ dimensions, the scaling law satisfied by the density matrix at time $t$ after a sudden change of the trapping frequency. Finally, the effects of interactions are analyzed in the dynamical Wigner function.

Some recent results on contact or point supported potentials

We introduced some contact potentials that can be written as a linear combination of the Dirac delta and its first derivative, the $δ$-$δ'$ interaction. After a simple general presentation in one dimension, we briefly discuss a one dimensional periodic potential with a $δ$-$δ'$ interaction at each node. The dependence of energy bands with the parameters (coefficients of the deltas) can be computed numerically. We also study the $δ$-$δ'$ interaction supported on spheres of arbitrary dimension. The spherical symmetry of this model allows us to obtain rigorous conclusions concerning the number of bound states in terms of the parameters and the dimension. Finally, a $δ$-$δ'$ interaction is used to approximate a potential of wide use in nuclear physics, and estimate the total number of bound states as well as the behaviour of some resonance poles with the lowest energy.

The Birman-Schwinger Operator for a Parabolic Quantum Well in a Zero-Thickness Layer in the Presence of a Two-Dimensional Attractive Gaussian Impurity

In this note we consider a quantum mechanical particle moving inside an infinitesimally thin layer constrained by a parabolic well in the $x$-direction and, moreover, in the presence of an impurity modelled by an attractive Gaussian potential. We investigate the Birman-Schwinger operator associated to a model assuming the presence of a Gaussian impurity inside the layer and prove that such an integral operator is Hilbert-Schmidt, which allows the use of the modified Fredholm determinant in order to compute the bound states created by the impurity. Furthermore, we consider the case where the Gaussian potential degenerates to a $δ$-potential in the $x$-direction and a Gaussian potential in the $y$-direction. We construct the corresponding self-adjoint Hamiltonian and prove that it is the limit in the norm resolvent sense of a sequence of corresponding Hamiltonians with suitably scaled Gaussian potentials. Satisfactory bounds on the ground state energies of all Hamiltonians involved are exhibited.

Supercoherent States, Super Kähler Geometry and Geometric Quantization

Generalized coherent states provide a means of connecting square integrable representations of a semi-simple Lie group with the symplectic geometry of some of its homogeneous spaces. In the first part of the present work this point of view is extended to the supersymmetric context, through the study of the OSp(2/2) coherent states. These are explicitly constructed starting from the known abstract typical and atypical representations of osp(2/2). Their underlying geometries turn out to be those of supersymplectic OSp(2/2) homogeneous spaces. Moment maps identifying the latter with coadjoint orbits of OSp(2/2) are exhibited via Berezin's symbols. When considered within Rothstein's general paradigm, these results lead to a natural general definition of a super Kähler supermanifold, the supergeometry of which is determined in terms of the usual geometry of holomorphic Hermitian vector bundles over Kähler manifolds. In particular, the supergeometry of the above orbits is interpreted in terms of the geometry of Einstein-Hermitian vector bundles. In the second part, an extension of the full geometric quantization procedure is applied to the same coadjoint orbits. Thanks to the super Kähler character of the latter, this procedure leads to explicit super unitary irreducible representations of OSp(2/2) in super Hilbert spaces of $L^2$ superholomorphic sections of prequantum bundles of the Kostant type. This work lays the foundations of a program aimed at classifying Lie supergroups' coadjoint orbits and their associated irreducible representations, ultimately leading to harmonic superanalysis. For this purpose a set of consistent conventions is exhibited.
