A slow blow up solution for the four dimensional energy critical semi linear heat equation

We consider the energy critical four dimensional semi-linear heat equation \[ \partial_{t}v-Δv-v^{3}=0, \quad(t,x)\in \mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^4. \] Formal computation of Filippas et al. (R. Soc. Lond. Proc. 2000) conjectures the existence of a sequence of type II blow-up solutions with various blow-up rates \[ \|v(t)\|_{L^\infty(\mathbb{R}^4)}\approx \frac{|\log(T-t)|^{\frac{2L}{2L-1}}}{(T-t)^L} ,\quad L=1,2,\cdots.\] Schweyer (J. Funct. Anal. 2012) rigorously constructs a type II blow-up solution for the case $L=1$. In this paper, we show the existence of type II blow-up solution for $L=2$. The method here could be generalized to deal with all the cases $L\geq 2$.

Classification of ancient flows by sub-affine-critical powers of curvature in $\mathbb{R}^2$

We classify closed convex $α$-curve shortening flows for sub-affine-critical powers $α\leq \frac{1}{3}$. In addition, we show that closed convex smooth finite entropy $α$-curve shortening flows with $\frac{1}{3}<α$ is a shrinking circle. After normalization, the ancient flows satisfying the above conditions converge exponentially fast to smooth closed convex shrinkers at the backward infinity. In particular, when $α=\frac{1}{k^2-1}$ with $3\leq k \in \mathbb{N}$, the round circle shrinker has non-trivial Jacobi fields, but the ancient flows do not evolve along the Jacobi fields.

Convexity of constant mean curvature graphs in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with planar boundary

We study the Dirichlet problem for a graph $Σ$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with normalized constant mean curvature $H>0$ and planar boundary $Γ=\partial Ω$. Our main result is that the optimal solvability condition, namely that the normalized mean curvature $h$ of $Γ$ satisfies $h\geq H$, also suffices when $Ω$ is strictly convex, to prove the strict convexity of $Σ$.

Classification theorems for solutions of higher order boundary conformally invariant problems, I

In this paper, we prove that nonnegative polyharmonic functions on the upper half space satisfying a conformally invariant nonlinear boundary condition have to be the "\emph{polynomials} plus \emph{bubbles}" form. The nonlinear problem is motivated by the recent studies of boundary GJMS operators and the $Q$-curvature in conformal geometry. The result implies that in the conformal class of the unit Euclidean ball there exist metrics with a single singular boundary point which have flat $Q$-curvature and constant boundary $Q$-curvature. Moreover, all of such metrics are classified. This phenomenon differs from that of boundary singular metrics which have flat scalar curvature and constant mean curvature, where the singular set contains at least two points. A crucial ingredient of the proof is developing an approach to separate the higher order linear effect and the boundary nonlinear effect so that the kernels of the nonlinear problem are captured.
