BFKL pomeron with massive gluons and running coupling

In this paper we proceed with the study of the Pomeron spectrum, by solving numerically the BFKL equation with massive gluons and running coupling. The spectrum of Regge singularities is discrete and the leading Pomeron has a considerable dependence on nonperturbative effects, for which we use Higgs mechanism as a model. We cross-checked this result with variational method and confirmed the infrared sensitivity of leading Pomeron. This fact is related to the infrared instability of the BFKL equation in QCD, with a running coupling. The subleading poles have a mild sensitivity to the soft physics, and are well described by known semiclassical methods. We also discuss the dependence on various prescriptions of the running coupling arguments.

Semiclassical solution to the BFKL equation with massive gluons

In this paper we proceed to study the high energy behavior of a scattering amplitudes in the Yang-Mills theory with the Higgs mechanism for the gauge boson mass. The spectrum of the $j$-plane singularities of the $t$-channel partial waves, and corresponding eigenfunctions of the BFKL equation in leading log approximation (LLA), were previously calculated by us numerically in arXiv:1401.4671 . Here we develop a semiclassical approach and investigate the influence of the impact parameter exponential decrease, existing in this model, on the high energy asymptotic behaviour of the scattering amplitude. This approach is much simpler than the numerical calculations, and reproduces our earlier numerical results. The analytical (semianalytical) solutions which have been found in this paper, can be used to incorporate correctly the large impact parameter behavior in the framework of CGC/saturation approach. This behaviour is interesting as provides the high energy amplitude for the electroweak theory, which can be measured experimentally.

Analytic structure of the $n=7$ scattering amplitude in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM theory at multi-Regge kinematics: Conformal Regge pole contribution

We investigate the analytic structure of the $2\to5$ scattering amplitude in the planar limit of $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM in multi-Regge kinematics in all physical regions. We demonstrate the close connection between Regge pole and Regge cut contributions: in a selected class of kinematic regions (Mandelstam regions) the usual factorizing Regge pole formula develops unphysical singularities which have to be absorbed and compensated by Regge cut contributions. This leads, in the corrections to the BDS formula, to conformal invariant 'renormalized' Regge pole expressions in the remainder function. We compute these renormalized Regge poles for the $2\to5$ scattering amplitude.

BFKL Pomeron with massive gluons

We solve the BFKL equation in the leading logarithmic approximation numerically in the Yang-Mills theory with the Higgs mechanism for the vector boson mass generation. It can be considered as a model for the amplitude with the correct behavior of the $s$-channel partial waves at large impact parameters. The Pomeron spectrum of the massive BFKL kernel in the $ω$-space for $t=0$ coincides with the continuous spectrum for the massless case although the density of its eigenvalues is two times smaller for $ω>ω_0$, where $ω_0$ is a negative number. We find a simple parametrization for the corresponding eigenfunctions. Because the leading singularity in the $ω$-plane in this Higgs model for $t=0$ is a fixed cut, the Regge pole contributions could be only for non-physical positive $t$. Hence we can state that the correct behaviour at large $b$ does not influence the main properties of the BFKL equation.

The Green Function for the BFKL Pomeron and the Transition to DGLAP Evolution

We consider the (process-independent) Green function for the BFKL equation in the next-to-leading order approximation, with running coupling, and explain how, within the semi-classical approximation, it is related to Green function of the Airy equation. The unique Green function is obtained from a combination of its required ultraviolet behaviour compatible with asymptotic freedom and an infrared limit phase imposed by the non-perturbative sector of QCD. We show that at sufficiently large gluon transverse momenta the corresponding gluon density matches that of the DGLAP analysis, whereas for relatively small values of the gluon transverse momentum the gluon distribution is sensitive to the Regge poles, whose positions are determined both by the non-pertubative QCD dynamics and physics at large transverse momenta.

The Multi-Regge limit of NMHV Amplitudes in N=4 SYM Theory

We consider the multi-Regge limit for N=4 SYM NMHV leading color amplitudes in two different formulations: the BFKL formalism for multi-Regge amplitudes in leading logarithm approximation, and superconformal N=4 SYM amplitudes. It is shown that the two approaches agree to two-loops for the 2->4 and 3->3 six-point amplitudes. Predictions are made for the multi-Regge limit of three loop 2->4 and 3->3 NMHV amplitudes, as well as a particular sub-set of two loop 2 ->2 +n N^kMHV amplitudes in the multi-Regge limit in the leading logarithm approximation from the BFKL point of view.
