A nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger equation with fractional noise

We study a stochastic Schr{ö}dinger equation with a quadratic nonlinearity and a space-time fractional perturbation, in space dimension less than 3. When the Hurst index is large enough, we prove local well-posedness of the problem using classical arguments. However, for a small Hurst index, even the interpretation of the equation needs some care. In this case, a renormalization procedure must come into the picture, leading to a Wick-type interpretation of the model. Our fixed-point argument then involves some specific regularization properties of the Schr{ö}dinger group, which allows us to cope with the strong irregularity of the solution.

On global existence and trend to the equilibrium for the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck system with exterior confining potential

We prove a global existence result with initial data of low regularity, and prove the trend to the equilibrium for the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck system with small non linear term but with a possibly large exterior confining potential in dimension $d=2$ and $d=3$. The proof relies on a fixed point argument using sharp estimates (at short and long time scales) of the semi-group associated to the Fokker-Planck operator, which were obtained by the first author.

On invariant Gibbs measures for the generalized KdV equations

We consider the defocusing generalized KdV equations on the circle. In particular, we construct global-in-time solutions with initial data distributed according to the Gibbs measure and show that the law of the random solutions, at any time, is again given by the Gibbs measure. In handling a nonlinearity of an arbitrary high degree, we make use of the Hermite polynomials and the white noise functional.

Modified scattering for the cubic Schr{ö}dinger equation on product spaces: the nonresonant case

We consider the cubic nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger equation on the spatial domain $\mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{T}^d$, and we perturb it with a convolution potential. Using recent techniques of Hani-Pausader-Tzvetkov-Visciglia, we prove a modified scattering result and construct modified wave operators, under generic assumptions on the potential. In particular, this enables us to prove that the Sobolev norms of small solutions of this nonresonant cubic NLS are asymptotically constant.

On the continuous resonant equation for NLS: I. Deterministic analysis

We study the continuous resonant (CR) equation which was derived by Faou-Germain-Hani as the large-box limit of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the small nonlinearity (or small data) regime. We first show that the system arises in another natural way, as it also corresponds to the resonant cubic Hermite-Schrödinger equation (NLS with harmonic trapping). We then establish that the basis of special Hermite functions is well suited to its analysis, and uncover more of the striking structure of the equation. We study in particular the dynamics on a few invariant subspaces: eigenspaces of the harmonic oscillator, of the rotation operator, and the Bargmann-Fock space. We focus on stationary waves and their stability.

On the continuous resonant equation for NLS: II. Statistical study

We consider the continuous resonant (CR) system of the 2D cubic nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger (NLS) equation. This system arises in numerous instances as an effective equation for the long-time dynamics of NLS in confined regimes (e.g. on a compact domain or with a trapping potential). The system was derived and studied from a deterministic viewpoint in several earlier works, which uncovered many of its striking properties. This manuscript is devoted to a probabilistic study of this system. Most notably, we construct global solutions in negative Sobolev spaces, which leave Gibbs and white noise measures invariant. Invariance of white noise measure seems particularly interesting in view of the absence of similar results for NLS.

Random weighted Sobolev inequalities and application to quantum ergodicity

This paper is a continuation of Poiret-Robert-Thomann (2013) where we studied a randomisation method based on the Laplacian with harmonic potential. Here we extend our previous results to the case of any polynomial and confining potential $V$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$. We construct measures, under concentration type assumptions, on the support of which we prove optimal weighted Sobolev estimates on $\mathbb{R}^d$. This construction relies on accurate estimates on the spectral function in a non-compact configuration space. Then we prove random quantum ergodicity results without specific assumption on the classical dynamics. Finally, we prove that almost all basis of Hermite functions is quantum uniquely ergodic.

On random Hermite series

We study integrability and continuity properties of random series of Hermite functions. We get optimal results which are analogues to classical results concerning Fourier series, like the Paley-Zygmund or the Salem-Zygmund theorems. We also consider the case of series of radial Hermite functions, which are not so well-behaved. In this context, we prove some L^p bounds of radial Hermite functions, which are optimal when p is large.

Probabilistic global well-posedness for the supercritical nonlinear harmonic oscillator

Thanks to an approach inspired from Burq-Lebeau \cite{bule}, we prove stochastic versions of Strichartz estimates for Schrödinger with harmonic potential. As a consequence, we show that the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with quadratic potential and any polynomial non-linearity is almost surely locally well-posed in $L^{2}(\R^{d})$ for any $d\geq 2$. Then, we show that we can combine this result with the high-low frequency decomposition method of Bourgain to prove a.s. global well-posedness results for the cubic equation: when $d=2$, we prove global well-posedness in $\H^{s}(\R^{2})$ for any $s>0$, and when $d=3$ we prove global well-posedness in $\H^{s}(\R^{3})$ for any $s>1/6$, which is a supercritical regime. Furthermore, we also obtain almost sure global well-posedness results with scattering for NLS on $\R^{d}$ without potential. We prove scattering results for $L^2-$supercritical equations and $L^2-$subcritical equations with initial conditions in $L^2$ without additional decay or regularity assumption.

Remarks on the Gibbs measures for nonlinear dispersive equations

We show, by the means of several examples, how we can use Gibbs measures to construct global solutions to dispersive equations at low regularity. The construction relies on the Prokhorov compactness theorem combined with the Skorokhod convergence theorem. To begin with, we consider the non linear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the tri-dimensional sphere. Then we focus on the Benjamin-Ono equation and on the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the circle. Next, we construct a Gibbs measure and global solutions to the so-called periodic half-wave equation. Finally, we consider the cubic 2d defocusing NLS on an arbitrary spatial domain and we construct global solutions on the support of the associated Gibbs measure.

Dynamics of Klein-Gordon on a compact surface near an homoclinic orbit

We consider the Klein-Gordon equation on a Riemannian surface which is globally well-posed in the energy space. This equation has an homoclinic orbit to the origin, and in this paper we study the dynamics close to it. Using a strategy from Groves-Schneider, we show that there are many solutions which stay close to this homocline during all times. We point out that the solutions we construct are not small.

Random weighted Sobolev inequalities on $\mathbb{R}^d$ and application to Hermite functions

We extend a randomisation method, introduced by Shiffman-Zelditch and developed by Burq-Lebeau on compact manifolds for the Laplace operator, to the case of $\mathbb{R}^d$ with the harmonic oscillator. We construct measures, thanks to probability laws which satisfy the concentration of measure property, on the support of which we prove optimal weighted Sobolev estimates on $\mathbb{R}^d$. This construction relies on accurate estimates on the spectral function in a non-compact configuration space. As an application, we show that there exists a basis of Hermite functions with good decay properties in $L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^d$)$, when $d\geq 2$.

Beating effects in cubic Schrödinger systems and growth of Sobolev norms

We consider a system of coupled cubic Schrödinger equations. We prove that there exists a beating effect, i.e. an energy exchange between different modes. This construction may be transported to the linear time-dependent Schrödinger equation: we build solutions such that their Sobolev norms grow logarithmically. All these results are stated for large but finite times.

KAM for the quantum harmonic oscillator

In this paper we prove an abstract KAM theorem for infinite dimensional Hamiltonians systems. This result extends previous works of S.B. Kuksin and J. Pöschel and uses recent techniques of H. Eliasson and S.B. Kuksin. As an application we show that some 1D nonlinear Schrödinger equations with harmonic potential admits many quasi-periodic solutions. In a second application we prove the reducibility of the 1D Schrödinger equations with the harmonic potential and a quasi periodic in time potential.

Resonant dynamics for the quintic non linear Schrödinger equation

We consider the quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the circle. We prove that there exist solutions corresponding to an initial datum built on four Fourier modes which form a resonant set, which have a non trivial dynamic that involves periodic energy exchanges between the modes initially excited. It is noticeable that this nonlinear phenomena does not depend on the choice of the resonant set. The dynamical result is obtained by calculating a resonant normal form up to order 10 of the Hamiltonian of the quintic NLS and then by isolating an effective term of order 6. Notice that this phenomena can not occur in the cubic NLS case for which the amplitudes of the Fourier modes are almost actions, i.e. they are almost constant.

Long time dynamics for the one dimensional non linear Schrödinger equation

In this article, we first present the construction of Gibbs measures associated to nonlinear Schrödinger equations with harmonic potential. Then we show that the corresponding Cauchy problem is globally well-posed for rough initial conditions in a statistical set (the support of the measures). Finally, we prove that the Gibbs measures are indeed invariant by the flow of the equation. As a byproduct of our analysis, we give a global well-posedness and scattering result for the $L^2$ critical and super-critical NLS (without harmonic potential).
