The Frisch--Parisi formalism for fluctuations of the Schrödinger equation

We consider the solution of the Schrödinger equation $u$ in $\mathbb{R}$ when the initial datum tends to the Dirac comb. Let $h_{\text{p}, δ}(t)$ be the fluctuations in time of $\int\lvert x\rvert^{2δ}\lvert u(x,t)\rvert^2\,dx$, for $0 < δ< 1$, after removing a smooth background. We prove that the Frisch--Parisi formalism holds for $H_δ(t) = \int_{[0,t]}h_{\text{p}, δ}(2s)\,ds$, which is morally a simplification of the Riemann's non-differentiable curve $R$. Our motivation is to understand the evolution of the vortex filament equation of polygonal filaments, which are related to $R$.

A decomposition of Calderón--Zygmund type and some observations on differentiation of integrals on the infinite-dimensional torus

In this note we will show a Calderón--Zygmund decomposition associated with a function $f\in L^1(\mathbb{T}^ω)$. The idea relies on an adaptation of a more general result by J. L. Rubio de Francia in the setting of locally compact groups. Some related results about differentiation of integrals on the infinite-dimensional torus are also discussed.

Bilinear spherical maximal functions of product type

In this paper we introduce and study a bilinear spherical maximal function of product type in the spirit of bilinear Calderón-Zygmund theory. This operator is different from the bilinear spherical maximal function considered by Geba et al. We deal with lacunary and full versions of this operator, and we prove weighted estimates with respect to bilinear weights. Our approach involves sparse forms following ideas by Lacey, but we also use other techniques to handle the particular triplet $(2,2,1)$.

Holomorphic extensions of eigenfunctions on $NA$ groups

Let $ X = G/K $ be a rank one Riemannian symmetric space of noncompact type. In view of the Iwasawa decomposition $ G = NAK $ of the underlying semisimple Lie group, we can also view $ X $ as the solvable extension $ S = NA $ of the Iwasawa group $ N$ which is known to be a $H$-type group. In this work we study the holomorphic extendability of eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator $ Δ_S$ on $ S $ to certain domains in the complexification of the nilpotent group $ N$. We can also do the same for any $H$-type group $ N $ not necessarily an Iwasawa group. The results are accomplished by making use of the connection with solutions of the extension problem for the Laplacian or the sublaplacian on the corresponding $ N$.

Quantitative weighted estimates for Rubio de Francia's Littlewood--Paley square function

We consider the Rubio de Francia's Littlewood--Paley square function associated with an arbitrary family of intervals in $\mathbb{R}$ with finite overlapping. Quantitative weighted estimates are obtained for this operator. The linear dependence on the characteristic of the weight $[w]_{A_{p/2}}$ turns out to be sharp for $3\le p<\infty$, whereas the sharpness in the range $2<p<3$ remains as an open question. Weighted weak-type estimates in the endpoint $p=2$ are also provided. The results arise as a consequence of a sparse domination shown for these operators, obtained by suitably adapting the ideas coming from Benea (2015) and Culiuc et al. (2016).

$A_1$ theory of weights for rough homogeneous singular integrals and commutators

Quantitative $A_1-A_\infty$ estimates for rough homogeneous singular integrals $T_Ω$ and commutators of $BMO$ symbols and $T_Ω$ are obtained. In particular the following estimates are proved: % \[ \|T_Ω\|_{L^p(w)}\le c_{n,p}\|Ω\|_{L^\infty} [w]_{A_1}^{\frac{1}{p}}\,[w]_{A_{\infty}}^{1+\frac{1}{p'}}\|f\|_{L^p(w)} \] % and % \[ \| [b,T_Ω]f\|_{L^{p}(w)}\leq c_{n,p}\|b\|_{BMO}\|Ω\|_{L^{\infty}} [w]_{A_1}^{\frac{1}{p}}[w]_{A_{\infty}}^{2+\frac{1}{p'}}\|f\|_{L^{p}\left(w\right)}, \] % for $1<p<\infty$ and $1/p+1/p'=1$.

Hardy-type inequalities for fractional powers of the Dunkl--Hermite operator

We prove Hardy-type inequalities for a fractional Dunkl--Hermite operator which incidentally give Hardy inequalities for the fractional harmonic oscillator as well. The idea is to use $h$-harmonic expansions to reduce the problem in the Dunkl--Hermite context to the Laguerre setting. Then, we push forward a technique based on a non-local ground representation, initially developed by R. L. Frank, E. H. Lieb and R. Seiringer in the Euclidean setting, to get a Hardy inequality for the fractional-type Laguerre operator. The above-mentioned method is shown to be adaptable to an abstract setting, whenever there is a "good" spectral theorem and an integral representation for the fractional operators involved.

Hardy's inequality for fractional powers of the sublaplacian on the Heisenberg group

We prove Hardy inequalities for the conformally invariant fractional powers of the sublaplacian on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$. We prove two versions of such inequalities depending on whether the weights involved are non-homogeneous or homogeneous. In the first case, the constant arising in the Hardy inequality turns out to be optimal. In order to get our results, we will use ground state representations. The key ingredients to obtain the latter are some explicit integral representations for the fractional powers of the sublaplacian and a generalized result by M. Cowling and U. Haagerup. The approach to prove the integral representations is via the language of semigroups. As a consequence of the Hardy inequalities we also obtain versions of Heisenberg uncertainty inequality for the fractional sublaplacian.

Fractional discrete Laplacian versus discretized fractional Laplacian

We define and study some properties of the fractional powers of the discrete Laplacian $$(-Δ_h)^s,\quad\hbox{on}~\mathbb{Z}_h = h\mathbb{Z},$$ for $h>0$ and $0<s<1$. A comparison between our fractional discrete Laplacian and the \textit{discretized} continuous fractional Laplacian as $h\to0$ is carried out. We get estimates in $\ell^\infty$ for the error of the approximation in terms of $h$ under minimal regularity assumptions. Moreover, we provide a pointwise formula with an explicit kernel and deduce Hölder estimates for $(-Δ_h)^s$. A study of the negative powers (or discrete fractional integral) $(-Δ_h)^{-s}$ is also sketched. Our analysis is mainly performed in dimension one. Nevertheless, we show certain asymptotic estimates for the kernel in dimension two that can be extended to higher dimensions. Some examples are plotted to illustrate the comparison in both one and two dimensions.

Fractional Laplacian on the torus

We study the fractional Laplacian $(-Δ)^{σ/2}$ on the $n$-dimensional torus $\mathbb{T}^n$, $n\geq1$. First, we present a general extension problem that describes \textit{any} fractional power $L^γ$, $γ>0$, where $L$ is a general nonnegative selfadjoint operator defined in an $L^2$-space. This generalizes to all $γ>0$ and to a large class of operators the previous known results by Caffarelli and Silvestre. In particular it applies to the fractional Laplacian on the torus. The extension problem is used to prove interior and boundary Harnack's inequalities for $(-Δ)^{σ/2}$, when $0<σ<2$. We deduce regularity estimates on Hölder, Lipschitz and Zygmund spaces. Finally, we obtain the pointwise integro-differential formula for the operator. Our method is based on the semigroup language approach.

Mixed norm estimates for the Cesàro means associated with Dunkl--Hermite expansions

Our main goal in this article is to study mixed norm estimates for the Cesàro means associated with Dunkl--Hermite expansions on $\mathbb{R}^d$. These expansions arise when one consider the Dunkl--Hermite operator (or Dunkl harmonic oscillator) $H_κ:=-Δ_κ+|x|^2$, where $Δ_κ$ stands for the Dunkl--Laplacian. It is shown that the desired mixed norm estimates are equivalent to vector-valued inequalities for a sequence of Cesàro means for Laguerre expansions with shifted parameter. In order to obtain the latter, we develop an argument to extend these operators for complex values of the parameters involved and apply a version of three lines lemma.

Quantitative weighted estimates for rough homogeneous singular integrals

We consider homogeneous singular kernels, whose angular part is bounded, but need not have any continuity. For the norm of the corresponding singular integral operators on the weighted space $L^2(w)$, we obtain a bound that is quadratic in the $A_2$ constant $[w]_{A_2}$. We do not know if this is sharp, but it is the best known quantitative result for this class of operators. The proof relies on a classical decomposition of these operators into smooth pieces, for which we use a quantitative elaboration of Lacey's dyadic decomposition of Dini-continuous operators: the dependence of constants on the Dini norm of the kernels is crucial to control the summability of the series expansion of the rough operator. We conclude with applications and conjectures related to weighted bounds for powers of the Beurling transform.

Revisiting floating bodies

The conic sections, as well as the solids obtained by revolving these curves, and many of their surprising properties, were already studied by Greek mathematicians since at least the fourth century B.C. Some of these properties come to the light, or are rediscovered, from time to time. In this paper we characterize the conic sections as the plane curves whose tangent lines cut off from a certain similar curve segments of constant area. We also characterize some quadrics as the surfaces whose tangent planes cut off from a certain similar surface compact sets of constant volume. Our work is developed in the most general multidimensional case.

Riesz transforms on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one

In this paper we prove mixed norm estimates for Riesz transforms related to Laplace--Beltrami operators on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one. These operators are closely related to the Riesz transforms for Jacobi polynomials expansions. The key point is to obtain sharp estimates for the kernel of the Jacobi--Riesz transforms with uniform control on the parameters, together with an adaptation of Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem. The latter results are of independent interest.

The Riesz transform for the harmonic oscillator in spherical coordinates

In this paper we show weighted estimates in mixed norm spaces for the Riesz transform associated with the harmonic oscillator in spherical coordinates. In order to prove the result we need a weighted inequality for a vector-valued extension of the Riesz transform related to the Laguerre expansions which is of independent interest. The main tools to obtain such extension are a weighted inequality for the Riesz transform independent of the order of the involved Laguerre functions and an appropriate adaptation of Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem.

Transference of fractional Laplacian regularity

In this note we show how to obtain regularity estimates for the fractional Laplacian on the multidimensional torus $\mathbb{T}^n$ from the fractional Laplacian on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Though at first glance this may seem quite natural, it must be carefully precised. A reason for that is the simple fact that $L^2$ functions on the torus can not be identified with $L^2$ functions on $\mathbb{R}^n$. The transference is achieved through a formula that holds in the distributional sense. Such an identity allows us to transfer Harnack inequalities, to relate the extension problems, and to obtain pointwise formulas and Hölder regularity estimates.

Fractional integrals on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one

In this paper we study mixed norm boundedness for fractional integrals related to Laplace--Beltrami operators on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one. The key point is the analysis of weighted inequalities for fractional integral operators associated to trigonometric Jacobi polynomials expansions. In particular, we find a novel sharp estimate for the Jacobi fractional integral kernel with explicit dependence on the type parameters.

The Bochner-Riesz means for Fourier-Bessel expansions: norm inequalities for the maximal operator and almost everywhere convergence

In this paper, we develop a thorough analysis of the boundedness properties of the maximal operator for the Bochner-Riesz means related to the Fourier-Bessel expansions. For this operator, we study weighted and unweighted inequalities in the spaces L^p((0,1),x^{2ν+1}dx). Moreover, weak and restricted weak type inequalities are obtained for the critical values of p. As a consequence, we deduce the almost everywhere pointwise convergence of these means.
