Study of Color Octet Matrix Elements Through J/ψJ/ψ Production in e+e−e^{+}e^{-} Annihilation

In this paper, the color-octet long distance matrix elements are studied though the inclusive J/ψJ/ψ production in e+e−e^{+}e^{-} annihilation within the non-relativistic QCD frame. The calculations are up-to next-to-leading order with the radiative corrections and relativistic corrections at the B-factory energy region and the near-threshold region of 4.6∼5.6 GeV4.6\sim5.6~{\rm GeV}. A constraint of the long distance matrix elements (⟨1S08⟩\langle^1S_0^{8}\rangle, ⟨3P08⟩\langle^3P_0^{8}\rangle) is obtained. Through our estimation, the P-wave color-octet matrix element ( ⟨0∣3P08∣0⟩\langle0|^3P^8_0|0\rangle ) should be the order of 0.005mc2 GeV30.005m_c^2~{\rm GeV}^3 or less. The constraint region is not compatible with the values of the long distance matrix elements fitted at hadron colliders.

Interference effects on Higgs mass measurement in e+e−→H(γγ)Ze^+e^-\to H(γγ) Z at CEPC

A high luminosity Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) as a Higgs Factory will be helpful to the precision measurement of the Higgs mass. The signal-background interference effect is carefully studied for the Higgs diphoton decay mode in the associated Z boson production at the future e+e−e^+e^- colliders at energy 246GeV246 {\rm GeV}. The mass shifts go up from about 20MeV20 {\rm MeV} to 50MeV50 {\rm MeV} for the experimental mass resolution ranging from 0.8GeV0.8 {\rm GeV} to 2GeV2 {\rm GeV}.

αsv2α_sv^2 corrections to ηcη_c and χcJχ_{cJ} production recoiled with a photon at e+e−e^+e^- colliders

We consider the production of the ηcη_c and χcJχ_{cJ} states recoiled with a photon up to O(αsv2)\mathcal{O}(α_s v^2) at BESIII and B-factories within the frame of NRQCD factorization. With the corrections, we revisit the numerical calculations to the cross sections for the ηc(nS)η_c(nS) and the χcJ(mP)χ_{cJ}(mP) states. We argue that the search for XYZXYZ states with even charge conjugation such as X(3872)X(3872), X(3940)X(3940), X(4160)X(4160), and X(4350)X(4350) recoiled with a photon at BESIII may help clarify the nature of these states. For completeness, the production of charmonium with even charge conjugation recoiled with a photon at B factories is also discussed.

Relativistic Correction to Color Octet J/psi Production at Hadron Colliders

The relativistic corrections to the color-octet J/ψJ/ψ hadroproduction at the Tevatron and LHC are calculated up to O(v2)\mathcal{O}(v^2) in nonrelativistic QCD factorization frame. The short distance coefficients are obtained by matching full QCD with NRQCD results for the partonic subprocess g+g→J/ψ(1S0[8],3S1[8],3PJ[8])+gg+g\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+g, q+qˉ→J/ψ(1S0[8],3S1[8],3PJ[8])+gq+\bar{q}\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+g and g+q(qˉ)→J/ψ(1S0[8],3S1[8],3PJ[8])+q(qˉ)g+q({\bar{q}})\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+q({\bar{q}}). The short distance coefficient ratios of relativistic correction to leading order for color-octet states 1S0[8]{^1}S_{0}^{[8]}, 3S1[8]{^3}S_{1}^{[8]}, and 3PJ[8]{^3}P_{J}^{[8]} at large pTp_T are approximately -5/6, -11/6, and -31/30, respectively, for each subprocess, and it is 1/6 for color-singlet state 3S1[1]{^3}S_{1}^{[1]}. If the higher order long distance matrix elements are estimated through velocity scaling rule with adopting v2=0.23v^2=0.23 and the lower order long distance matrix elements are fixed, the leading order cross sections of color-octet states are reduced by about a factor of 20∼4020\sim40% at large pTp_T at both the Tevatron and the LHC. Comparing with QCD radiative corrections to color-octet states, relativistic correction is ignored along with pTp_T increasing. Using long distance matrix elements extracted from the fit to J/ψJ/ψ production at the Tevatron, we can find the unpolarization cross sections of J/ψJ/ψ production at the LHC taking into account both QCD and relativistic corrections are changed by about 20∼5020\sim50% of that considering only QCD corrections. These results indicate that relativistic corrections may play an important role in J/ψJ/ψ production at the Tevatron and the LHC.

Relativistic Correction to J/psi and Upsilon Pair Production

The relativistic corrections to the productions of double J/psi, double Upsilon, and J/psi+Upsilon at the Tevatron and the LHC were investigated within the frame of nonrelativistic QCD. The ratios of short distance coefficients between relativistic correction and leading order result for color singlet and color octet states in large p_T limit are approximately -1,-11/3, respectively, for pair production. And for J/psi+Upsilon process the ratio is -11/6 for the CO channel. The K factors of relativistic corrections for color singlet and color octet double J/psi production are -0.23 and -0.84 with adopting v^2=0.23. The relativistic corrections significantly dilute the difference between the shape of color-singlet differential cross sections and the color-octet's at leading order. Also our results show that the single parton scattering model may be enough to explain the LHCb data for the J/psi pair production.

Search for C=+C=+ charmonium and XYZ states in e+e−→γ+He^+e^-\to γ+ H at BESIII

Within the framework of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, we study the production of C=+C=+ charmonium states HH in e+e−→γ + He^+e^-\to γ~+~H at BESIII with H=ηc(nS)H=η_c(nS) (n=1, 2, 3, and 4), χcJ(nP)χ_{cJ}(nP) (n=1, 2, and 3), and 1D2(nD)^1D_2(nD) (n=1 and 2). The radiative and relativistic corrections are calculated to next-to-leading order for SS and PP wave states. We then argue that the search for C=+C=+ XYZXYZ states such as X(3872)X(3872), X(3940)X(3940), X(4160)X(4160), and X(4350)X(4350) in e+e−→γ + He^+e^-\to γ~+~H at BESIII may help clarify the nature of these states. BESIII can search XYZXYZ states through two body process e+e−→γHe^+e^-\to γH, where HH decay to J/ψπ+π−J/ψπ^+π^-, J/ψϕJ/ψϕ, or DDˉD \bar D. This result may be useful in identifying the nature of C=+C=+ XYZXYZ states. For completeness, the production of C=+C=+ charmonium in e+e−→γ+ He^+e^-\to γ+~H at B factories is also discussed.

J/ψJ / ψ electromagnetic production associated with light hadrons at BB factories

The electromagnetic productions of JψJ ψ associated with light hadrons(LH) and leptonic pairs(μ+μ−μ^+μ^-, τ+τ−τ^+τ^-) at BB factories are studied. We find that the direct electromagnetic production cross sections of J/ψJ / ψ(ψ(2S)ψ(2S)) associated with light hadrons is about 0.10(0.04)0.10(0.04) pb. The direct production cross sections of J/ψJ / ψ(ψ(2S)ψ(2S)) associated with μ+μ−μ^+μ^- is about 0.056(0.020)0.056(0.020) pb. If we include the contributions from ψ(2S)ψ(2S) decay, we can get the prompt cross section σ[e+e−→J/ψ+μ+μ−]=(0.068±0.002)σ[e^+e^- \to J/ψ+μ^+μ^-]=(0.068 \pm 0.002) pb, about (16±5)(16 \pm 5) % of the Belle data σ[e+e−→J/ψ+Xnon−ccˉ]=(0.43±0.09±0.09)σ[e^+e^- \to J/ψ+X_{non-c\bar c}]=(0.43\pm 0.09\pm 0.09) pb, meanwhile the e+e−→J/ψ+τ+τ−e^+e^- \to J/ψ+τ^+τ^- process only contributes 22 %. The prompt cross section σ[e+e−→J/ψ+LightHadrons]=(0.121±0.005)σ[e^+e^- \to J/ψ+Light Hadrons]=(0.121 \pm 0.005) pb is about (28±8)(28 \pm 8) % of the Belle data.

Inclusive Charmonium Production via Double ccˉc \bar c in e+e−e^+e^- Annihilation

Motivated by the recent observation of double charm quark pair production by the Belle Collaboration, we calculate the complete O(αs2){\cal O}(α_{s}^{2}) inclusive production cross sections for ηcη_{c}, J/ψJ/ψ, and χcJχ_{cJ}(J=0, 1, 2) plus ccˉc\bar{c} in e+e−e^+ e^- annihilation through a virtual photon. We consider both color-singlet and color-octet contributions, and give the analytical expressions for these cross sections. The complete color-singlet calculations are compared with the approximate fragmentation calculations as functions of the center-of-mass energy s\sqrt{s}. We find that most of the fragmentation results substantially overestimate the cross sections (e.g. by a factor of ∼\sim4 for χc1χ_{c1} and χc2χ_{c2}) at the Belle and BaBar energy s=10.6\sqrt{s}=10.6GeV. The fragmentation results become a good approximation only when s\sqrt{s} is higher than about 100GeV. We further calculate the color-octet contributions to these cross sections with analytical expressions. We find that while the color-octet contribution to J/ψJ/ψ inclusive production via double charm is negligible (only about 3%), the color-octet contributions to χc1χ_{c1} and χc2χ_{c2} can be significant.

Problems of Double Charm Production in e+e−e^+e^- Annihilation at s=10.6\sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV

Using the nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) factorization formalism, we calculate the color-singlet cross sections for exclusive production processes e++e−→J/ψ+ηc{e^++e^-\to J/ψ+η_c}~ and ~e++e−→J/ψ+χcJe^++e^-\to J/ψ+ χ_{cJ}~(J=0,1,2)(J=0,1,2) at the center-of-mass energy s\sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV. The cross sections are estimated to be 5.5fb, 6.7fb, 1.1fb, and 1.6fb for ηc,χc0,χc1η_c, χ_{c0}, χ_{c1} and χc2χ_{c2}, respectively. The calculated J/ψ+ηcJ/ψ+η_c production rate is smaller than the recent Belle data by about an order of magnitude, which might indicate the failure of perturbative QCD calculation to explain the double-charmonium production data. The complete O\cal{O}(αs2)(α^2_{s}) color-singlet cross section for e++e−→χc0+ccˉ{e^++e^-\to χ_{c0}+ c\bar {c}} is calculated. In addition, we also evaluate the ratio of exclusive to inclusive production cross sections. The ratio of J/ψηcJ/ψη_c production to J/ψccˉJ/ψc\bar{c} production could be consistent with the experimental data.

D-wave Charmonium Production in e+e−e^+e^- Annihilation at s=10.6\sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV

We calculate the D-wave charmonium production in e+e−e^+e^- annihilation at BELLE and BABAR at s=10.6\sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV using the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formalism, including color singlet and color octet contributions. We analyze the contributions of various processes for δJ(J=1,2)δ_J(J=1,2) production. We find that both the color singlet and color octet channels may give substantial contributions, and the production rates are estimated to be σ(δ1)≃0.043−0.16pbσ(δ_1)\simeq 0.043-0.16pb and σ(δ2)≃0.094−0.29pbσ(δ_2)\simeq 0.094-0.29pb, which, however, are very sensitive to the choice of the color octet matrix elements of the D-wave charmonium states. The measurement of D-wave charmonium production at BABAR and BELLE in the future will be very helpful to test the color octet mechanism and to determine the color octet matrix elements.
