Factorized Latent Reasoning for LLM-based Recommendation

Large language models (LLMs) have recently been adopted for recommendation by framing user preference modeling as a language generation problem. However, existing latent reasoning approaches typically represent user intent with a single latent vector, which struggles to capture the inherently multi-faceted nature of user preferences. We propose Factorized Latent Reasoning (FLR), a novel framework for LLM-based sequential recommendation that decomposes latent reasoning into multiple disentangled preference factors. FLR introduces a lightweight multi-factor attention module that iteratively refines a latent thought representation, where each factor attends to distinct aspects of the user's interaction history. To encourage diversity and specialization, we design orthogonality, attention diversity, and sparsity regularization objectives, and dynamically aggregate factor contributions for the final prediction. We further integrate FLR with an efficient reinforcement learning strategy based on group-relative policy optimization, enabling stable alignment directly in the latent reasoning space. Experiments on multiple benchmarks show that FLR consistently outperforms strong baselines while improving robustness and interpretability.

Purifying Multimodal Retrieval: Fragment-Level Evidence Selection for RAG

Multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (MRAG) is widely adopted for Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) with external evidence to reduce hallucinations. Despite its success, most existing MRAG frameworks treat retrieved evidence as indivisible documents, implicitly assuming that all content within a document is equally informative. In practice, however, sometimes only a small fraction of a document is relevant to a given query, while the remaining content introduces substantial noise that may lead to performance degradation. We address this fundamental limitation by reframing MRAG as a fine-grained evidence selection problem. We propose Fragment-level Evidence Selection for RAG (FES-RAG), a framework that selects atomic multimodal fragments rather than entire documents as grounding evidence. FES-RAG decomposes retrieved multimodal documents into sentence-level textual fragments and region-level visual fragments, enabling precise identification of evidence that directly supports generation. To guide fragment selection, we introduce Fragment Information Gain (FIG), a principled metric that measures the marginal contribution of each fragment to the MLLM's generation confidence. Based on FIG, we distill fragment-level utility judgments from a high-capacity MLLM into a lightweight selector, achieving accurate evidence selection with low inference overhead. Experiments on the M2RAG benchmark show that FES-RAG consistently outperforms state-of-the-art document-level MRAG methods, achieving up to 27 percent relative improvement in CIDEr. By selecting fewer yet more informative fragments, our approach substantially reduces context length while improving factual accuracy and generation coherence.

Generation and protection of steady-state quantum correlations due to quantum channels with memory

We have proposed a scheme of the generation and preservation of two-qubit steady state quantum correlations through quantum channels where successive uses of the channels are correlated. Different types of noisy channels with memory, such as amplitude damping, phase-damping, and depolarizing channels have been taken into account. Some analytical or numerical results are presented. The effect of channels with memory on dynamics of quantum correlations has been discussed in detail. The results show that, steady state entanglement between two independent qubits without entanglement subject to amplitude damping channel with memory can be generated. Besides, we compare the dynamics of entanglement with that of quantum discord when a two-qubit system is prepared in an entangled state. We show that entanglement dynamics suddenly disappears, while quantum discord displays only in the asymptotic limit. Two-qubit quantum correlations can be preserved at a long time in the limit of $μ\rightarrow1$.

Non-Hermitian-assisted enhancement precision of parameter estimation

Recently, Zhong et al. [Phys. Rev. A 87, 022337(2013)] investigated the dynamics of quantum Fisher information (QFI) in the presence of decoherence. We here reform their results and propose two schemes to enhance and preserve the QFIs for a qubit system subjected to a decoherence noisy environment by applying $\textit{non-Hermitian}$ operators process. The proposed schemes are related to the $\textit{prior}$ (or the $\textit{post}$ ) non-Hermitian operator process corresponding to before (or after) the interest system suffers from decoherence, respectively. Resorting to the Bloch sphere representation, we derive the exact analytical expressions of the QFIs with respect to the amplitude parameter $θ$ and the phase parameter $ϕ$, and in detail investigate the influence of $\textit{non-Hermitian}$ operator parameters on the QFIs. Compared with purity decoherence process (without non-Hermitian operator process), we find that the $\textit{post non-Hermitian}$ operator process can potentially enhance and preserve the QFIs by choosing appropriate $\textit{non-Hermitian}$ operator parameters, while with the help of the $\textit{prior non-Hermitian}$ operator process one could completely eliminate the effect of decoherence to improve the parameters estimation. Finally, a generalized non-Hermitian operator parameters effect on the parameters estimation is also considered.

Quantum coherence of two-qubit over quantum channels with memory

Using the axiomatic definition of the coherence measure, such as the $l_{1}$ norm and the relative entropy, we study the phenomena of two-qubit system quantum coherence through quantum channels where successive uses of the channels are memory. Different types of noisy channels with memory, such as amplitude damping, phase-damping, and depolarizing channels effect on quantum coherence have been discussed in detail. The results show that, quantum channels with memory can efficiently protect coherence from noisy channels. Particularly, as channels with perfect memory, quantum coherence is unaffected by the phase damping as well as depolarizing channels. Besides, we also investigate the cohering and decohering power of quantum channels with memory.

Distillability sudden death and sudden birth in a two-qutrit system under decoherence of finite temperature

Distillability sudden death and sudden birth in a two-qutrit system under decoherence of finite temperature is studied in detail. By using of the negativity and realignment criterion, it is shown that certain initial prepared free entangled states may become bound entangled or separable states in a finite time. Moreover, initial prepared bound entangled or separable states also may become distillabile entangled states in a finite time.
