Diophantine triples with the property $D(n)$ for distinct $n$

We prove that for every integer $n$, there exist infinitely many $D(n)$-triples which are also $D(t)$-triples for $t\in\mathbb{Z}$ with $n\ne t$. We also prove that there are infinitely many triples with the property $D(-1)$ in $\mathbb{Z}[i]$ which are also $D(n)$-triple in $\mathbb{Z}[i]$ for two distinct $n$'s other than $n = -1$ and these triples are not equivalent to any triple with the property $D(1)$.

On a family of elliptic curves of rank at least $2$

Let $C_{m} : y^{2} = x^{3} - m^{2}x +p^{2}q^{2}$ be a family of elliptic curves over $\mathbb{Q}$, where $m$ is a positive integer and $p, q$ are distinct odd primes. We study the torsion part and the rank of $C_m(\mathbb{Q})$. More specifically, we prove that the torsion subgroup of $C_{m}(\mathbb{Q})$ is trivial and the $\mathbb{Q}$-rank of this family is at least $2$, whenever $m \not \equiv 0 \pmod 4$ and $m \equiv 2 \pmod {64}$ with neither $p$ nor $q$ divides $m$.

Selmer group associated to the Chow group of certain codimension two cycles

Let $X$ be a surface with geometric genus and irregularity zero which is defined over a number field $K$. Let $\mathscr{X}$ denote a smooth spread of $X$ over the spectrum of a Zariski open subset in the spectrum of the ring of integers and $A^2$ stands for the group of algebraically trivial cycles on schemes modulo rational equivalence. If $j^*: A^2(\mathscr{X})\to A^2(X)$ be the flat pull-back corresponding to the embedding $j:X\hookrightarrow \mathscr{X}$ then we prove that $\im(j^*)(K)/A^2(\mathscr{X})(K)$ is a torsion group. Here $\im(j^*)(K)$, $A^2(\mathscr{X})(K)$ stand for the cycles fixed under the action of the absolute Galois group.

On the Diophantine equation $cx^2+p^{2m}=4y^n$

Let $c$ be a square-free positive integer and $p$ a prime satisfying $p\nmid c$. Let $h(-c)$ denote the class number of the imaginary quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-c})$. In this paper, we consider the Diophantine equation $$cx^2+p^{2m}=4y^n,~~x,y\geq 1, m\geq 0, n\geq 3, \gcd(x,y)=1, \gcd(n,2h(-c))=1,$$ and we describe all its integer solutions. Our main tool here is the prominent result of Bilu, Hanrot and Voutier on existence of primitive divisors in Lehmer sequences.

On the structure of order 4 class groups of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{n^2+1})$

Groups of order $4$ are isomorphic to either $\mathbb{Z}/4\mathbb{Z}$ or $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \times \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$. We give certain sufficient conditions permitting to specify the structure of class groups of order $4$ in the family of real quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}{(\sqrt{n^2+1})}$ as $n$ varies over positive integers. Further, we compute the values of Dedekind zeta function attached to these quadratic fields at the point $-1$. As a side result, we show that the size of the class group of this family could be made as large as possible by increasing the size of the number of distinct odd prime factors of $n$.

Primary rank of the class group of real cyclotomic fields

Let $H= \mathbb{Q}(ζ_{n} + {ζ_{n}}^{-1})$ and $\ell$ be an odd prime such that $q \equiv 1 \pmod \ell$ for some prime factor $q$ of $n$. We get a bound on the $\ell$-rank of the class group of $H$(under some conditions) in terms of the $\ell$-rank of the class group of real quadratic subfield contained in $H$. This is an extension of a recent work of E. Agathocleous (with alternate hypothesis) where she handles $\ell=3$ case. As an application of our main result we relate the $\ell$-rank of real quadratic subfields of $H$.
