Truncated Wiener-Hopf operators with Fisher Hartwig singularities

We derive the asymptotic behavior of determinants of truncated Wiener-Hopf operators generated by symbols having Fisher-Hartwig singularities. This task is achieved thanks to an asymptotic resolution of the Riemann-Hilbert problem associated to some generalized sine kernel. As a byproduct, we give yet another derivation of the asymptotic behavior of Toeplitz determinants having Fisher-Hartwig singularities. The Riemann-Hilbert problem approach to these asymptotics yields a systematic although quickly cumbersome way to compute their sub-leading asymptotics.

Aspects of the inverse problem for the Toda chain

We generalize Babelon's approach to equations in dual variables so as to be able to treat new types of operators which we build out of the sub-constituents of the model's monodromy matrix. Further, we also apply Sklyanin's recent monodromy matrix identities so as to obtain equations in dual variables for yet other operators. The schemes discussed in this paper appear to be universal and thus, in principle, applicable to many models solvable through the quantum separation of variables.

Low-$T$ asymptotic expansion of the solution to the Yang-Yang equation

We prove that the unique solution to the Yang-Yang equation arising in the context of the thermodynamics of the so-called non-linear Schrödinger model admits a low-temperature expansion to all orders. Our approach provides a rigorous justification, for a certain class of non-linear integral equations, of the low-temperature asymptotic expansion that were argued previously in various works related to the low-temperature behavior of integrable models.

Riemann--Hilbert approach to the time-dependent generalized sine kernel

We derive the leading asymptotic behavior and build a new series representation for the Fredholm determinant of integrable integral operators appearing in the representation of the time and distance dependent correlation functions of integrable models described by a six-vertex R-matrix. This series representation opens a systematic way for the computation of the long-time, long-distance asymptotic expansion for the correlation functions of the aforementioned integrable models away from their free fermion point. Our method builds on a Riemann--Hilbert based analysis.

Unitarity of the SoV transform for the Toda chain

The quantum separation of variables method consists in mapping the original Hilbert space where a spectral problem is formulated onto one where the spectral problem takes a simpler "separated" form. In order to realise such a program, one should construct the map explicitly and then show that it is unitary. In the present paper, we develop a technique which allows one to prove the unitarity of this map in the case of the quantum Toda chain. Our proof solely builds on objects and relations naturally arising in the framework of the so-called quantum inverse scattering method. Hence, with minor modifications, it should be readily transposable to other quantum integrable models solvable by the quantum separation of variables method. As such, it provides an important alternative to the proof of the map's unitarity based on the group theoretical interpretation of the quantum Toda chain, which is absent for more complex quantum integrable models.

Large-x analysis of an operator valued Riemann-Hilbert problem

The purpose of this paper is to push forward the theory of operator-valued Riemann Hilbert problems and demonstrate their effectiveness in respect to the implementation of a non-linear steepest descent method \textit{á la} Deift-Zhou. In the present paper, we demonstrate that the operator-valued Riemann--Hilbert problem arising in the characterisation of so-called $c$-shifted integrable integral operators allows one to extract the large-$x$ asymptotics of the Fredholm determinant associated with such operators.

On determinants of integrable operators with shifts

Integrable integral operator can be studied by means of a matrix Riemann--Hilbert problem. However, in the case of so-called integrable operators with shifts, the associated Riemann--Hilbert problem becomes operator valued and this complicates strongly the analysis. In this note, we show how to circumvent, in a very simple way, the use of such a setting while still being able to characterize the large-$x$ asymptotic behavior of the determinant associated with the operator.

Form factor approach to the asymptotic behavior of correlation functions in critical models

We propose a form factor approach for the computation of the large distance asymptotic behavior of correlation functions in quantum critical (integrable) models. In the large distance regime we reduce the summation over all excited states to one over the particle/hole excitations lying on the Fermi surface in the thermodynamic limit. We compute these sums, over the so-called critical form factors, exactly. Thus we obtain the leading large distance behavior of each oscillating harmonic of the correlation function asymptotic expansion, including the corresponding amplitudes. Our method is applicable to a wide variety of integrable models and yields precisely the results stemming from the Luttinger liquid approach, the conformal field theory predictions and our previous analysis of the correlation functions from their multiple integral representations. We argue that our scheme applies to a general class of non-integrable quantum critical models as well.

Surface free energy of the open XXZ spin-1/2 chain

We study the boundary free energy of the XXZ spin-$\tf{1}{2}$ chain subject to diagonal boundary fields. We first show that the representation for its finite Trotter number approximant obtained by Bortz, Frahm and Göhmann is related to the partition function of the six-vertex model with reflecting ends. Building on the Tsuchiya determinant representation for the latter quantity we are able to take the infinite Trotter number limit. This yields a representation for the surface free energy which involves the solution of the non-linear integral equation that governs the thermodynamics of the XXZ spin-1/2 chain subject to periodic boundary conditions. We show that this integral representation allows one to extract the low-$T$ asymptotic behavior of the boundary magnetization at finite external magnetic field on the one hand and numerically plot this function on the other hand.

Correlation functions of one-dimensional bosons at low temperature

We consider the low-temperature limit of the long-distance asymptotic behavior of the finite temperature density-density correlation function in the one-dimensional Bose gas derived recently in the algebraic Bethe ansatz framework. Our results confirm the predictions based on the Luttinger liquid and conformal field theory approaches. We also demonstrate that the amplitudes arising in this asymptotic expansion at low-temperature coincide with the amplitudes associated with the so-called critical form factors.

Large-distance and long-time asymptotic behavior of the reduced density matrix in the non-linear Schrödinger model

Starting from the form factor expansion in finite volume, we derive the multidimensional generalization of the so-called Natte series for the zero-temperature, time and distance dependent reduced density matrix in the non-linear Schrödinger model. This representation allows one to \textit{read-off} straightforwardly the long-time/large-distance asymptotic behavior of this correlator. This method of analysis reduces the complexity of the computation of the asymptotic behavior of correlation functions in the so-called interacting integrable models, to the one appearing in free fermion equivalent models. We compute explicitly the first few terms appearing in the asymptotic expansion. Part of these terms stems from excitations lying away from the Fermi boundary, and hence go beyond what can be obtained by using the CFT/Luttinger liquid based predictions.

Long-time and large-distance asymptotic behavior of the current-current correlators in the non-linear Schrödinger model

We present a new method allowing us to derive the long-time and large-distance asymptotic behavior of the correlations functions of quantum integrable models from their exact representations. Starting from the form factor expansion of the correlation functions in finite volume, we explain how to reduce the complexity of the computation in the so-called interacting integrable models to the one appearing in free fermion equivalent models. We apply our method to the time-dependent zero-temperature current-current correlation function in the non-linear Schrödinger model and compute the first few terms in its asymptotic expansion. Our result goes beyond the conformal field theory based predictions: in the time-dependent case, other types of excitations than the ones on the Fermi surface contribute to the leading orders of the asymptotics.

On Form Factors of the conjugated field in the non-linear Schröodinger model

Izergin-Korepin's lattice discretization of the non-linear Schrödinger model along with Oota's inverse problem provides one with determinant representations for the form factors of the lattice discretized conjugated field operator. We prove that these form factors converge, in the zero lattice spacing limit, to those of the conjugated field operator in the continuous model. We also compute the large-volume asymptotic behavior of such form factors in the continuous model. These are in particular characterized by Fredholm determinants of operators acting on closed contours. We provide a way of defining these Fredholm determinants in the case of generic parameters.

Thermodynamic limit of particle-hole form factors in the massless XXZ Heisenberg chain

We study the thermodynamic limit of the particle-hole form factors of the XXZ Heisenberg chain in the massless regime. We show that, in this limit, such form factors decrease as an explicitly computed power-law in the system-size. Moreover, the corresponding amplitudes can be obtained as a product of a "smooth" and a "discrete" part: the former depends continuously on the rapidities of the particles and holes, whereas the latter has an additional explicit dependence on the set of integer numbers that label each excited state in the associated logarithmic Bethe equations. We also show that special form factors corresponding to zero-energy excitations lying on the Fermi surface decrease as a power-law in the system size with the same critical exponents as in the long-distance asymptotic behavior of the related two-point correlation functions. The methods we develop in this article are rather general and can be applied to other massless integrable models associated to the six-vertex R-matrix and having determinant representations for their form factors.

Fine structure of the asymptotic expansion of cyclic integrals

The asymptotic expansion of $n$-dimensional cyclic integrals was expressed as a series of functionals acting on the symmetric function involved in the cyclic integral. In this article, we give an explicit formula for the action of these functionals on a specific class of symmetric functions. These results are necessary for the computation of the O(1) part in the long-distance asymptotic behavior of correlation functions in integrable models.

Long-distance behavior of temperature correlation functions in the one-dimensional Bose gas

We describe a Bethe ansatz based method to derive, starting from a multiple integral representation, the long-distance asymptotic behavior at finite temperature of the density-density correlation function in the interacting one-dimensional Bose gas. We compute the correlation lengths in terms of solutions of non-linear integral equations of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz type. Finally, we establish a connection between the results obtained in our approach with the correlation lengths stemming from the quantum transfer matrix method.
