A Weighted Mutual k-Nearest Neighbour for Classification Mining

kNN is a very effective Instance based learning method, and it is easy to implement. Due to heterogeneous nature of data, noises from different possible sources are also widespread in nature especially in case of large-scale databases. For noise elimination and effect of pseudo neighbours, in this paper, we propose a new learning algorithm which performs the task of anomaly detection and removal of pseudo neighbours from the dataset so as to provide comparative better results. This algorithm also tries to minimize effect of those neighbours which are distant. A concept of certainty measure is also introduced for experimental results. The advantage of using concept of mutual neighbours and distance-weighted voting is that, dataset will be refined after removal of anomaly and weightage concept compels to take into account more consideration of those neighbours, which are closer. Consequently, finally the performance of proposed algorithm is calculated.

Theoretical Study of Pest Control Using Stage Structured Natural Enemies with Maturation Delay: A Crop-Pest-Natural Enemy Model

In the natural world, there are many insect species whose individual members have a life history that takes them through two stages, immature and mature. Moreover, the rates of survival, development, and reproduction almost always depend on age, size, or development stage. Keeping this in mind, in this paper, a three species crop-pest-natural enemy food chain model with two stages for natural enemies is investigated. Using characteristic equations, a set of sufficient conditions for local asymptotic stability of all the feasible equilibria is obtained. Moreover, using approach as in (Beretta and Kuang, 2002), the possibility of the existence of a Hopf bifurcation for the interior equilibrium with respect to maturation delay is explored, which shows that the maturation delay plays an important role in the dynamical behavior of three species system. Also obtain some threshold values of maturation delay for the stability-switching of the particular system. In succession, using the normal form theory and center manifold argument, we derive the explicit formulas which determine the stability and direction of bifurcating periodic solutions. Finally, a numerical simulation for supporting the theoretical analysis is given.

An Analytical Approach to Document Clustering Based on Internal Criterion Function

Fast and high quality document clustering is an important task in organizing information, search engine results obtaining from user query, enhancing web crawling and information retrieval. With the large amount of data available and with a goal of creating good quality clusters, a variety of algorithms have been developed having quality-complexity trade-offs. Among these, some algorithms seek to minimize the computational complexity using certain criterion functions which are defined for the whole set of clustering solution. In this paper, we are proposing a novel document clustering algorithm based on an internal criterion function. Most commonly used partitioning clustering algorithms (e.g. k-means) have some drawbacks as they suffer from local optimum solutions and creation of empty clusters as a clustering solution. The proposed algorithm usually does not suffer from these problems and converge to a global optimum, its performance enhances with the increase in number of clusters. We have checked our algorithm against three different datasets for four different values of k (required number of clusters).
