Interpolating PBW Deformations for the Orthosymplectic Groups

We propose to use interpolation categories to study PBW deformations, and demonstrate this idea for the orthosymplectic supergroups. Employing a combinatorial calculus based on pseudographs and partitions which we derive from a suitable Jacobi identity, we classify PBW deformations in (quotients of) Deligne's interpolation categories for the orthosymplectic groups. As special cases, our classification recovers families of infinitesimal Hecke algebras found by Etingof-Gan-Ginzburg (2005) for the symplectic groups and by Tsymbaliuk (2015) for the orthogonal groups together with their respective standard representations using completely different geometric methods. Our results can be viewed as an extension of these known results to the family of all orthosymplectic groups together with all of their fundamental representations, obtained by novel interpolation techniques for PBW deformations.

The groups $G$ satisfying a functional equation $f(xk) = xf(x)$ for some $k \in G$

We study the groups $G$ with the curious property that there exists an element $k\in G$ and a function $f\colon G\to G$ such that $f(xk)=xf(x)$ holds for all $x\in G$. This property arose from the study of near-rings and input-output automata on groups. We call a group with this property a $J$-group. Finite $J$-groups must have odd order, and hence are solvable. We prove that every finite nilpotent group of odd order is a $J$-group if its nilpotency class $c$ satisfies $c\le6$. If $G$ is a finite $p$-group, with $p>2$ and $p^2>2c-1$, then we prove that $G$ is $J$-group. Finally, if $p>2$ and $G$ is a regular $p$-group or, more generally, a power-closed one (i.e., in each section and for each $m\geq1$ the subset of $p^m$-th powers is a subgroup), then we prove that $G$ is a $J$-group.

Gröbner bases for fusion products

We provide a new approach towards the analysis of the fusion products defined by B.~Feigin and S.~Loktev in the representation theory of (truncated) current Lie algebras. We understand the fusion product as a degeneration using Gröbner theory of non-commutative algebras and outline a strategy on how to prove a conjecture about the defining relations for the fusion product of two evaluation modules. We conclude with following this strategy for $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C}[t]) $ and hence provide yet another proof for the conjecture in this case.

Strata of $p$-Origamis

Given a two-generated group of prime-power order, we investigate the singularities of origamis whose deck group acts transitively and is isomorphic to the given group. Geometric and group-theoretic ideas are used to classify the possible strata, depending on the prime-power order. We then show that for many interesting known families of two-generated groups of prime-power order, including all regular, or powerful ones, or those of maximal class, each group admits only one possible stratum. However, we also construct examples of two-generated groups of prime-power order which do not determine a unique stratum.

Barbasch-Sahi algebras and Dirac cohomology

We define a class of algebras which are distinguished by a PBW property and an orthogonality condition, and which we call Hopf-Hecke algebras, since they generalize the Drinfeld Hecke algebras defined by Drinfeld. In the course of studying the orthogonality condition and in analogy to the orthogonal group we show the existence of a pin cover for cocommutative Hopf algebras over $\mathbb{C}$ with an orthogonal module or, more generally, pointed cocommutative Hopf algebras over a field of characteristic $0$ with an orthogonal module. Following the suggestion of Dan Barbasch and Siddhartha Sahi, we define a Dirac operator and Dirac cohomology for modules of Hopf-Hecke algebras, generalizing those concepts for connected semisimple Lie groups, graded affine Hecke algebras and symplectic reflection algebras. Using the pin cover, we prove a general theorem for a class of Hopf-Hecke algebras which we call Barbasch-Sahi algebras, which relates the central character of an irreducible module with non-vanishing Dirac cohomology to the central characters occurring in its Dirac cohomology, generalizing a result called "Vogan's conjecture" for connected semisimple Lie groups, analogous results for graded affine Hecke algebras and for symplectic reflection algebras and Drinfeld Hecke algebras.
