Regularity of a transmission problem and periodic homogenization

This paper is concerned with the regularity theory of a transmission problem arising in composite materials. We give a new self-contained proof for the $C^{k,α}$ estimates on both sides of the interface under the minimal assumptions on the interface and data. Moreover, we prove the uniform Lipschitz estimate across a $C^{1,α}$ interface when the coefficients on both sides of the interface are periodic with independent structures and oscillating at different microscopic scales.

Approximate Correctors and Convergence Rates in Almost-Periodic Homogenization

We carry out a comprehensive study of quantitative homogenization of second-order elliptic systems with bounded measurable coefficients that are almost-periodic in the sense of H. Weyl. We obtain uniform local $L^2$ estimates for the approximate correctors in terms of a function that quantifies the almost-periodicity of the coefficient matrix. We give a condition that implies the existence of (true) correctors. These estimates as well as similar estimates for the dual approximate correctors yield optimal or near optimal convergence rates in $H^1$ and $L^2$.The $L^2$-based Hölder and Lipschitz estimates at large scale are also established.

Boundary Layers in Periodic Homogenization of Neumann Problems

This paper is concerned with a family of second-order elliptic systems in divergence form with rapidly oscillating periodic coefficients. We initiate the study of homogenization and boundary layers for Neumann problems with first-order oscillating boundary data. We identify the homogenized system and establish the sharp rate of convergence in $L^2$ in dimension three or higher. Sharp regularity estimates are also obtained for the homogenized boundary data in both Dirichlet and Neumann problems. The results are used to obtain a higher-order convergence rate for Neumann problems with non-oscillating data.
