Multiple double-valley and single-valley dark solitons in the complex modified Korteweg-de Vries equation: shape-preserving collisions and shape-altering collisions

The shape-preserving and shape-altering collisions of dark solitons are investigated in the complex modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. The obtained dark soliton solutions are classified into two distinct types, referred to as type-I and type-II dark solitons, which exhibit fundamentally different structural and dynamical characteristics. A single type-I dark soliton is symmetric about its center and admits three distinct valley profiles, namely single-valley, double-valley, and flat-bottom structures, whereas a single type-II dark soliton only supports a single-valley profile. These two types of dark solitons differ in their phase behaviors as the spatial variable varies from $-\infty$ to $+\infty$, as well as in their velocity--amplitude relations. For multiple pure type-I dark solitons, collisions are shape-preserving; however, a nontrivial collective effect is revealed in which modifying the parameters of one soliton can induce changes in the profiles and amplitudes of the other solitons, even though all collisions remain elastic in nature. In contrast, multiple pure type-II dark solitons behave independently, undergoing only phase shifts without any modification of their shapes or amplitudes. When type-I and type-II dark solitons coexist, their interactions lead to genuine shape-altering collisions, where the valley structures and amplitudes of type-I dark solitons are modified, while type-II solitons remain unaffected except for phase shifts. Asymptotic analysis further shows that the influence of type-II dark solitons on type-I dark solitons is confined to the pre-collision stage and disappears after the interaction.

General higher-order breathers and rogue waves in the two-component long-wave--short-wave resonance-interaction model

General higher-order breather and rogue wave (RW) solutions to the two-component long wave--short wave resonance interaction (2-LSRI) model are derived via the bilinear Kadomtsev-Petviashvili hierarchy reduction method and are given in terms of determinants. Under particular parametric conditions, the breather solutions can reduce to homoclinic orbits, or a mixture of breathers and homoclinic orbits. There are three families of RW solutions, which correspond to a simple root, two simple roots, and a double root of an algebraic equation related to the dimension reduction procedure. The first family of RW solutions consists of $\frac{N(N+1)}{2}$ bounded fundamental RWs, the second family is composed of $\frac{N_1(N_1+1)}{2}$ bounded fundamental RWs coexisting with another $\frac{N_2(N_2+1)}{2}$ fundamental RWs of different bounded state ($N,N_1,N_2$ being positive integers), while the third one have ${[\widehat{N}_1^2+\widehat{N}_2^2-\widehat{N}_1(\widehat{N}_2-1)]}$ fundamental bounded RWs ($\widehat{N}_1,\widehat{N}_2$ being non-negative integers). The second family can be regarded as the superpositions of the first family, while the third family can be the degenerate case of the first family under particular parameter choices. These diverse RW patterns are illustrated graphically.

Reductions of the (4 + 1)-dimensional Fokas equation and their solutions

An integrable extension of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) and Davey-Stewartson (DS) equations is investigated in this paper. We will refer to this integrable extension as the (4+1)-dimensional Fokas equation. The determinant expressions of soliton, breather, rational, and semi-rational solutions of the (4 + 1)-dimensional Fokas equation are constructed based on the Hirota's bilinear method and the KP hierarchy reduction method. The complex dynamics of these new exact solutions are shown in both three-dimensional plots and two-dimensional contour plots. Interestingly, the patterns of obtained high-order lumps are similar to those of rogue waves in the (1 + 1)-dimensions by choosing different values of the free parameters of the model. Furthermore, three kinds of new semi-rational solutions are presented and the classification of lump fission and fusion processes is also discussed. Additionally, we give a new way to obtain rational and semi-rational solutions of (3 + 1)-dimensional KP equation by reducing the solutions of the (4 + 1)-dimensional Fokas equation. All these results show that the (4 + 1)-dimensional Fokas equation is a meaningful multidimensional extension of the KP and DS equations. The obtained results might be useful in diverse fields such as hydrodynamics, non-linear optics and photonics, ion-acoustic waves in plasmas, matter waves in Bose-Einstein condensates, and sound waves in ferromagnetic media.

Two-dimensional rogue waves on zero background of the Davey-Stewartson II equation

A prototypical example of a rogue wave structure in a two-dimensional model is presented in the context of the Davey-Stewartson~II (DS~II) equation arising in water waves. The analytical methodology involves a Taylor expansion of an eigenfunctionof the model's Lax pair which is used to form a hierarchy of infinitely many new eigenfunctions. These are used for the construction of two-dimensional (2D) rogue waves (RWs) of the DS~II equation by the even-fold Darboux transformation (DT). The obtained 2D RWs, which are localized in both space and time, can be viewed as a 2D analogue of the Peregrine soliton and are thus natural candidates to describe oceanic RW phenomena,as well as ones in 2D fluid systems and water tanks.

Addition formulae of discrete KP, q-KP and two-component BKP systems

In this paper, we constructed the addition formulae for several integrable hierarchies, including the discrete KP, the q-deformed KP, the two-component BKP and the D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies. With the help of the Hirota bilinear equations and $τ$ functions of different kinds of KP hierarchies, we prove that these addition formulae are equivalent to these hierarchies. These studies show that the addition formula in the research of the integrable systems has good universality.

On the evolution of a rogue wave along the orthogonal direction of the ($t,x$)-plane

The localization characters of the first-order rogue wave (RW) solution $u$ of the Kundu-Eckhaus equation is studied in this paper. We discover a full process of the evolution for the contour line with height $c^2+d$ along the orthogonal direction of the ($t,x$)-plane for a first-order RW $|u|^2$: A point at height $9c^2$ generates a convex curve for $3c^2\leq d<8c^2$, whereas it becomes a concave curve for $0<d<3c^2$, next it reduces to a hyperbola on asymptotic plane (i.e. equivalently $d=0$), and the two branches of the hyperbola become two separate convex curves when $-c^2<d<0$, and finally they reduce to two separate points at $d=-c^2$. Using the contour line method, the length, width, and area of the RW at height $c^2+d (0<d<8c^2)$ , i.e. above the asymptotic plane, are defined. We study the evolutions of three above-mentioned localization characters on $d$ through analytical and visual methods. The phase difference between the Kundu-Eckhaus and the nonlinear Schrodinger equation is also given by an explicit formula.

Rogue wave triggered at a critical frequency of a nonlinear resonant medium

We consider a two-level atomic system, interacting with an electromagnetic field controlled in amplitude and frequency by a high intensity laser. We show that the amplitude of the induced electric field, admits an envelope profile corresponding to a breather soliton. We demonstrate that this soliton can propagate with any frequency shift with respect to that of the control laser, except a critical frequency, at which the system undergoes a structural discontinuity that transforms the breather in a rogue wave. A mechanism of generation of rogue waves by means of an intense laser field is thus revealed.

The extended $Z_N$-Toda hierarchy

The extended flow equations of a new $Z_N$-Toda hierarchy which takes values in a commutative subalgebra $Z_N$ of $gl(N,\mathbb C)$ is constructed. Meanwhile we give the Hirota bilinear equations and tau function of this new extended $Z_N$-Toda hierarchy(EZTH). Because of logarithm terms, some extended Vertex operators are constructed in generalized Hirota bilinear equations which might be useful in topological field theory and Gromov-Witten theory. Meanwhile the Darboux transformation and bi-hamiltonian structure of this hierarchy are given. From hamiltonian tau symmetry, we give another different tau function of this hierarchy with some unknown mysterious connections with the one defined from the point of Sato theory.

Virasoro symmetry of the constrained multi-component KP hierarchy and its integrable discretization

In this paper, we construct the Virasoro type additional symmetries of a kind of constrained multi-component KP hierarchy and give the Virasoro flow equation on eigenfunctions and adjoint eigenfunctions. It can also be seen that the algebraic structure of the Virasoro symmetry is kept after discretization from the constrained multi-component KP hierarchy to the discrete constrained multi-component KP hierarchy.

Ghost symmetry of the discrete KP hierarchy

In this paper, with the help of the $S$ function and ghost symmetry for the discrete KP hierarchy which is a semi-discrete version of the KP hierarchy, the ghost flow on its eigenfunction(adjoint eigenfunction) and the spectral representation of its Baker-Akhiezer function and adjoint Baker-Akhiezer function are derived. From these observations above, some important distinctions between the discrete KP hierarchy and KP hierarchy are shown. Also we give the ghost flow on the tau function and another kind of proof of the ASvM formula of the discrete KP hierarchy.

Higher-order rogue wave dynamics for a derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation

The the mixed Chen-Lee-Liu derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CLL-NLS) can be considered as simplest model to approximate the dynamics of weakly nonlinear and dispersive waves, taking into account the self-steepnening effect (SSE). The latter effect arises as a higher-order correction of the nonlinear Schrördinger equation (NLS), which is known to describe the dynamics of pulses in nonlinear fiber optics, and constiutes a fundamental part of the generalized NLS. Similar effects are decribed within the framework of the modified NLS, also referred to as the Dysthe equation, in hydrodynamics. In this work, we derive fundamental and higher-order solutions of the CLL-NLS by applying the Darboux transformation (DT). Exact expressions of non-vanishing boundary solitons, breathers and a hierarchy of rogue wave solutions are presented. In addition, we discuss the localization characters of such rogue waves, by characterizing their length and width. In particular, we describe how the localization properties of first-order NLS rogue waves can be modified by taking into account the SSE, presented in the CLL-NLS. This is illustrated by use of an analytical and a graphical method. The results may motivate similar analytical studies, extending the family of the reported rogue wave solutions as well as possible experiments in several nonlinear dispersive media, confirming these theoretical results.

Rogue waves in a resonant erbium-doped fiber system with higher-order effects

We mainly investigate a coupled system of the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation and the Maxwell-Bloch equations which describes the wave propagation in an erbium-doped nonlinear fiber with higher-order effects including the forth-order dispersion and quintic non-Kerr nonlinearity. We derive the one-fold Darbox transformation of this system and construct the determinant representation of the $n$-fold Darboux transformation. Then the determinant representation of the $n$th new solutions $(E^{[n]},\, p^{[n]},\, η^{[n]})$ which were generated from the known seed solutions $(E, \, p, \, η)$ is established through the $n$-fold Darboux transformation. The solutions $(E^{[n]},\, p^{[n]},\, η^{[n]})$ provide the bright and dark breather solutions of this system. Furthermore, we construct the determinant representation of the $n$th-order bright and dark rogue waves by Taylor expansions and also discuss the hybrid solutions which are the nonlinear superposition of the rogue wave and breather solutions.

Supersymmetric BKP systems and their symmetries

In this paper, we construct the additional symmetries of the supersymmetric BKP(SBKP) hierarchy. These additional flows constitute a B type $SW_{1+\infty}$ Lie algebra because of the B type reduction of the supersymmetric BKP hierarchy. Further we generalize the SBKP hierarchy to a supersymmetric two-component BKP (S2BKP) hierarchy equipped with a B type $SW_{1+\infty}\bigoplus SW_{1+\infty}$ Lie algebra. As a Bosonic reduction of the S2BKP hierarchy, we define a new constrained system called the supersymmetric Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy of type D which admits a $N=2$ supersymmetric Block type symmetry.

Few-cycle optical rogue waves:complex modified Korteweg-de Vries equation

In this paper, we consider the complex modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation as a model of few-cycle optical pulses. Using the Lax pair, we construct a generalized Darboux transformation and systematically generate the first-, second- and third-order rogue wave solutions and analyze the nature of evolution of higher-order rogue waves in detail. Based on detailed numerical and analytical investigations, we classify the higher-order rogue waves with respect to their intrinsic structure, namely, fundamental pattern, triangular pattern, and ring pattern. We also present several new patterns of the rogue wave according to the standard and non-standard decomposition. The results of this paper explain the generalization of higher-order rogue waves in terms of rational solutions. We apply the contour line method to obtain the analytical formulas of the length and width of the first-order RW of the complex mKdV and the NLS equations. In nonlinear optics, the higher-order rogue wave solutions found here will be very useful to generate high-power few-cycle optical pulses which will be applicable in the area of ultra-short pulse technology.

Quantum Torus symmetry of the KP, KdV and BKP hierarchies

In this paper, we construct the quantum Torus symmetry of the KP hierarchy and further derive the quantum torus constraint on the tau function of the KP hierarchy. That means we give a nice representation of the quantum Torus Lie algebra in the KP system by acting on its tau function. Comparing to the $W_{\infty}$ symmetry, this quantum Torus symmetry has a nice algebraic structure with double indices. Further by reduction, we also construct the quantum Torus symmetries of the KdV and BKP hierarchies and further derive the quantum Torus constraints on their tau functions. These quantum Torus constraints might have applications in the quantum field theory, supersymmetric gauge theory and so on.

The rational solutions of the mixed nonlinear Schrödinger equation

The mixed nonlinear Schrödinger (MNLS) equation is a model for the propagation of the Alfvén wave in plasmas and the ultrashort light pulse in optical fibers with two nonlinear effects of self-steepening and self phase-modulation(SPM), which is also the first non-trivial flow of the integrable Wadati-Konno-Ichikawa(WKI) system. The determinant representation $T_n$ of a n-fold Darboux transformation(DT) for the MNLS equation is presented. The smoothness of the solution $q^{[2k]}$ generated by $T_{2k}$ is proved for the two cases ( non-degeneration and double-degeneration ) through the iteration and determinant representation. Starting from a periodic seed(plane wave), rational solutions with two parameters $a$ and $b$ of the MNLS equation are constructed by the DT and the Taylor expansion. Two parameters denote the contributions of two nonlinear effects in solutions. We show an unusual result: for a given value of $a$, the increasing value of $b$ can damage gradually the localization of the rational solution, by analytical forms and figures. A novel two-peak rational solution with variable height and a non-vanishing boundary is also obtained.

Theoretical and experimental evidence of non-symmetric doubly localized rogue waves

We present determinant expressions for vector rogue wave solutions of the Manakov system, a two-component coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation. As special case, we generate a family of exact and non-symmetric rogue wave solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation up to third-order, localized in both space and time. The derived non-symmetric doubly-localized second-order solution is generated experimentally in a water wave flume for deep-water conditions. Experimental results, confirming the characteristic non-symmetric pattern of the solution, are in very good agreement with theory as well as with numerical simulations, based on the modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation, known to model accurately the dynamics of weakly nonlinear wave packets in deep-water.

Additional symmetry of the modified extended Toda hierarchy

In this paper, one new integrable modified extended Toda hierarchy(METH) is constructed with the help of two logarithmic Lax operators. With this modification, the interpolated spatial flow is added to make all flows complete. To show more integrable properties of the METH, the bi-Hamiltonian structure and tau symmetry of the METH will be given. The additional symmetry flows of this new hierarchy are presented. These flows form an infinite dimensional Lie algebra of Block type.

Block algebra in two-component BKP and D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies

We construct generalized additional symmetries of a two-component BKP hierarchy defined by two pseudo-differential Lax operators. These additional symmetry flows form a Block type algebra with some modified(or additional) terms because of a B type reduction condition of this integrable hierarchy. Further we show that the D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy, which is a reduction of the two-component BKP hierarchy, possess a complete Block type additional symmetry algebra. That D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy has a similar algebraic structure as the bigraded Toda hierarchy which is a differential-discrete integrable system.

In this paper, the determinant representation of the n-fold Darboux transformation (DT) of the Kundu-DNLS equation is given. Based on our analysis, the soliton solutions, positon solutions and breather solutions of the Kundu-DNLS equation are given explicitly. Further, we also construct the rogue wave solutions which are given by using the Taylor expansion of the breather solution. Particularly, these rogue wave solutions possess several free parameters. With the help of these parameters, these rogue waves constitute several patterns, such as fundamental pattern, triangular pattern, circular pattern.

Rogue waves of the Hirota and the Maxwell-Bloch equations

In this paper, we derive a Darboux transformation of the Hirota and the Maxwell-Bloch(H-MB) system which is governed by femtosecond pulse propagation through an erbium doped fibre and further generalize it to the matrix form of the $n$-fold Darboux transformation of this system. This $n$-fold Darboux transformation implies the determinant representation of $n$-th new solutions of $(E^{[n]},p^{[n]}, η^{[n]})$ generated from known solution of $(E, p,η)$. The determinant representation of $(E^{[n]},p^{[n]} ,η^{[n]})$ provides soliton solutions, positon solutions, and breather solutions (both bright and dark breathers) of the H-MB system. From the breather solutions, we also construct bright and dark rogue wave solutions for the H-MB system, which is currently one of the hottest topics in mathematics and physics. Surprisingly, the rogue wave solution for $p\, and\, η$ has two peaks because of the order of the numerator and denominator of them. Meanwhile, after fixing time and spatial parameters and changing other two unknown parameters $α$ and $β$, we generate a rogue wave shape for the first time.

The applications of the gauge transformation for the BKP hierarchy

In this paper, we investigated four applications of the gauge transformation for the BKP hierarchy. Firstly, it is found that the orbit of the gauge transformation for the constrained BKP hierarchy defines a special $(2 +1)$-dimensional Toda lattice equation structure. Then the tau function of the BKP hierarchy generated by the gauge transformation is showed to be the Pfaffian. And the higher Fay-like identities for the BKP hierarchy is also obtained through the gauge transformation. At last, the compatibility between the additional symmetry and the gauge transformation of the BKP hierarchy is proved.

Block type symmetry of bigraded Toda Hierarchy

In this paper, we define Orlov-Schulman's operators $M_L$, $M_R$, and then use them to construct the additional symmetries of the bigraded Toda hierarchy (BTH). We further show that these additional symmetries form an interesting infinite dimensional Lie algebra known as a Block type Lie algebra, whose structure theory and representation theory have recently received much attention in literature. By acting on two different spaces under the weak W-constraints we find in particular two representations of this Block type Lie algebra.

N-order bright and dark rogue waves in a Resonant erbium-doped Fibre system

The rogue waves in a resonant erbium-doped fibre system governed by a coupled system of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and the Maxwell-Bloch equation (NLS-MB equations) are given explicitly by a Taylor series expansion about the breather solutions of the normalized slowly varying amplitude of the complex field envelope $E$, polarization $p$ and population inversion $η$. The n-order breather solutions of the three fields are constructed using Darboux transformation (DT) by assuming periodic seed solutions. What is more, the n-order rogue waves are given by determinant forms with $n+3$ free parameters. Furthermore, the possible connection between our rouge waves and the generation of supercontinuum generation is discussed.

On the squared eigenfunction symmetry of the Toda lattice hierarchy

The squared eigenfunction symmetry for the Toda lattice hierarchy is explicitly constructed in the form of the Kronecker product of the vector eigenfunction and the vector adjoint eigenfunction, which can be viewed as the generating function for the additional symmetries when the eigenfunction and the adjoint eigenfunction are the wave function and the adjoint wave function respectively. Then after the Fay-like identities and some important relations about the wave functions are investigated, the action of the squared eigenfunction related to the additional symmetry on the tau function is derived, which is equivalent to the Adler-Shiota-van Moerbeke (ASvM) formulas.

Regular solution and lattice miura transformation of bigraded Toda Hierarchy

In this paper, we give finite dimensional exponential solutions of the bigraded Toda Hierarchy(BTH). As an specific example of exponential solutions of the BTH, we consider a regular solution for the $(1,2)$-BTH with $3\times 3$-sized Lax matrix, and discuss some geometric structure of the solution from which the difference between $(1,2)$-BTH and original Toda hierarchy is shown. After this, we construct another kind of Lax representation of $(N,1)$-bigraded Toda hierarchy($(N,1)$-BTH) which does not use the fractional operator of Lax operator. Then we introduce lattice Miura transformation of $(N,1)$-BTH which leads to equations depending on one field, meanwhile we give some specific examples which contains Volterra lattice equation(an useful ecological competition model).

Rogue waves of the Fokas-Lenells equation

The Fokas-Lenells (FL) equation arises as a model eqution which describes for nonlinear pulse propagation in optical fibers by retaining terms up to the next leading asymptotic order (in the leading asymptotic order the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation results). Here we present an explicit analytical representation for the rogue waves of the FL equation. This representation is constructed by deriving an appropriate Darboux transformation (DT) and utilizing a Taylor series expansion of the associated breather solution. when certain higher-order nonlinear effects are considered, the propagation of rogue waves in optical fibers is given.

The expressions of the q[n] and r[n] in the FL system are generated by n-fold Darboux transformation (DT). Further, a Taylor series expansion about the n-order breather solutions q[n] generated using DT by assuming periodic seed solutions under reduction can generate the n-order rogue waves of the FL equation explicitly with 2n+3 free parameters.

The Recursion operators of the BKP hierarchy and the CKP Hierarchy

In this paper, under the constraints of the BKP(CKP) hierarchy, a crucial observation is that the odd dynamical variable $u_{2k+1}$ can be explicitly expressed by the even dynamical variable $u_{2k}$ in the Lax operator $L$ through a new operator $B$. Using operator $B$, the essential differences between the BKP hierarchy and the CKP hierarchy are given by the flow equations and the recursion operators under the $(2n+1)$-reduction. The formal formulas of the recursion operators for the BKP and CKP hierarchy under $(2n+1)$-reduction are given. To illustrate this method, the two recursion operators are constructed explicitly for the 3-reduction of the BKP and CKP hierarchies. The $t_7$ flows of $u_2$ are generated from $t_1$ flows by the above recursion operators, which are consistent with the corresponding flows generated by the flow equations under 3-reduction.

Two kinds of rogue waves of the general nonlinear Schrödinger equation with derivative

In this letter, the designable integrability(DI) of the variable coefficient derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation (VCDNLSE) is shown by construction of an explicit transformation which maps VCDNLSE to the usual derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation(DNLSE). One novel feature of VCDNLSE with DI is that its coefficients can be designed artificially and analytically by using transformation. What is more, from the rogue wave and rational traveling solution of the DNLSE, we get two kinds of rogue waves of the VCDNLSE by this transformation. One kind of rogue wave has vanishing boundary condition, and the other non-vanishing boundary condition. The DI of the VCDNLSE also provides a possible way to control the profile of the rogue wave in physical experiments.

An Efficient Algorithm of Logarithmic Transformation to Hirota Bilinear Form of KdV-type Bilinear Equation

In this paper, an efficient algorithm of logarithmic transformation to Hirota bilinear form of the KdV-type bilinear equation is established. In the algorithm, some properties of Hirota operator and logarithmic transformation are successfully applied, which helps to prove that the linear terms of the nonlinear partial differential equation play a crucial role in finding the Hirota bilinear form. Experimented with various integro-differential equations, our algorithm is proven to be more efficient than the algorithm referred by Zhou, Fu, and Li in getting the Hirota bilinear form, especially in achieving the coefficient of the logarithmic transformation.

Explicit Flow Equations and Recursion Operator of the ncKP hierarchy

The explicit expression of the flow equations of the noncommutative Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(ncKP) hierarchy is derived. Compared with the flow equations of the KP hierarchy, our result shows that the additional terms in the flow equations of the ncKP hierarchy indeed consist of commutators of dynamical coordinates \{$u_i$\}. The recursion operator for the flow equations under $n$-reduction is presented. Further, under 2-reduction, we calculate a nonlocal recursion operator $Φ(2)$ of the noncommutative Korteweg-de Vries(ncKdV) hierarchy, which generates a hierarchy of local, higher-order flows. The Additional Symmetries for the BTL and CTL Hierarchies

The Toda lattice (TL) hierarchy was first introduced by K.Ueno and K.Takasaki in \cite{uenotaksasai} to generalize the Toda lattice equations\cite{toda}. Along the work of E. Date, M. Jimbo, M. Kashiwara and T. Miwa \cite{DJKM} on the KP hierarchy, K.Ueno and K.Takasaki in \cite{uenotaksasai} develop the theory for the TL hierarchy: its algebraic structure, the linearization, the bilinear identity, $τ$ function and so on. Also the analogues of the B and C types for the TL hierarchy, i.e. the BTL and CTL hierarchies, are considered in \cite{uenotaksasai}, which are corresponding to infinite dimensional Lie algebras $\textmd{o}(\infty)$ and $\textmd{sp}(\infty)$ respectively. In this paper, we will focus on the study of the additional symmetries for the BTL and CTL hierarchies.

The Darboux transformation of the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation

The n-fold Darboux transformation (DT) is a 2\times2 matrix for the Kaup-Newell (KN) system. In this paper, each element of this matrix is expressed by a ratio of $(n+1)\times (n+1)$ determinant and $n\times n$ determinant of eigenfunctions. Using these formulae, the expressions of the $q^{[n]}$ and $r^{[n]}$ in KN system are generated by n-fold DT. Further, under the reduction condition, the rogue wave, rational traveling solution, dark soliton, bright soliton, breather solution, periodic solution of the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger(DNLS) equation are given explicitly by different seed solutions. In particular, the rogue wave and rational traveling solution are two kinds of new solutions. The complete classification of these solutions generated by one-fold DT is given in the table on page.

The Rogue Wave and breather solution of the Gerdjikov-Ivanov equation

The Gerdjikov-Ivanov (GI) system of $q$ and $r$ is defined by a quadratic polynomial spectral problem with $2 \times 2$ matrix coefficients. Each element of the matrix of n-fold Darboux transformation of this system is expressed by a ratio of $(n+1)\times (n+1)$ determinant and $n\times n$ determinant of eigenfunctions, which implies the determinant representation of $q^{[n]}$ and $r^{[n]}$ generated from known solution $q$ and $r$. By choosing some special eigenvalues and eigenfunctions according to the reduction conditions $q^{[n]}=-(r^{[n]})^*$, the determinant representation of $q^{[n]}$ provides some new solutions of the GI equation. As examples, the breather solutions and rogue wave of the GI is given explicitly by two-fold DT from a periodic "seed" with a constant amplitude.

A Novel Symmetry Constraint Of The Super cKdV System

A new (1+1)-dimensional integrable system, i. e. the super coupled Korteweg-de Vries (cKdV) system, has been constructed by a super extension of the well-known (1+1)-dimensional cKdV system. For this new system, a novel symmetry constraint between the potential and eigenfunction can be obtained by means of the binary nonlinearization of its Lax pairs. The constraints for even variables are explicit and the constraints for odd variables are implicit. Under the symmetry constraint, the spacial part and the temporal parts of the equations associated with the Lax pairs for the super cKdV system can be decomposed into the super finite-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian systems on the supersymmetry manifold $R^{4N|2N+2}$, whose integrals of motion are explicitly given.

In this paper we generalize the Sato theory to the extended bigraded Toda hierarchy (EBTH). We revise the definition of the Lax equations, give the Sato equations, wave operators, Hirota bilinear identities (HBI) and show the existence of $tau$ function $τ(t)$. Meanwhile we prove the validity of its Fay-like identities and Hirota bilinear equations (HBEs) in terms of vertex operators whose coefficients take values in the algebra of differential operators. In contrast with HBEs of the usual integrable system, the current HBEs are equations of product of operators involving $e^{\partial_x}$ and $τ(t)$.

The "Ghost" Symmetry of the BKP hierarchy

In this paper, we systematically develop the "ghost" symmetry of the BKP hierarchy through its actions on the Lax operator $L$, the eigenfunctions and the $τ$ function. In this process, the spectral representation of the eigenfunctions and a new potential are introduced by using squared eigenfunction potential(SEP) of the BKP hierarchy. Moreover, the bilinear identity of the constrained BKP hierarchy and Adler-Shiota-van-Moerbeke formula of the BKP hierarchy are re-derived compactly by means of the spectral representation and "ghost" symmetry.

Binary Nonlinearization of the Super Akns System Under an Implicit Symmetry Constraint

For the super AKNS system, an implicit symmetry constraint between the potentials and the eigenfunctions is proposed. After introducing some new variables to explicitly express potentials, the super AKNS system is decomposed into two compatible finite-dimensional super systems (x-part and $t_n$-part). Furthermore, we show that the obtained super systems are integrable super Hamiltonian systems in supersymmetry manifold $\mathbb{R}^{4N+2|2N+2}$.

Solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional KP, SK and KK equations generated by gauge transformations from non-zero seeds

By using gauge transformations, we manage to obtain new solutions of (2+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KP), Kaup-Kuperschmidt(KK) and Sawada-Kotera(SK) equations from non-zero seeds. For each of the preceding equations, a Galilean type transformation between these solutions $u_2$ and the previously known solutions $u_2^{\prime}$ generated from zero seed is given. We present several explicit formulas of the single-soliton solutions for $u_2$ and $u_2^{\prime}$, and further point out the two main differences of them under the same value of parameters, i.e., height and location of peak line, which are demonstrated visibly in three figures.
