Noncommutative spaces and superspaces from Snyder and Yang type models

The relativistic $D=4$ Snyder model is formulated in terms of $D=4$ $dS$ algebra $o(4,1)$ generators, with noncommutative Lorentz-invariant Snyder quantum space-time provided by $\frac{O(4,1)}{O(3,1)}$ coset generators. Analogously, in relativistic $D=4$ Yang models the quantum-deformed relativistic phase space is described by the algebras of coset generators $\frac{O(5,1)}{O(3,1)}$ or $\frac{O(4,2)}{O(3,1)}$. We extend these algebraic considerations by using respective $dS$ superalgebras, which provide Lorentz-covariant quantum superspaces (SUSY Snyder model) as well as relativistic quantum phase super spaces (SUSY Yang model).

Spinorial Snyder and Yang Models From Superalgebras And Noncommutative Quantum Superspaces

The relativistic Lorentz-covariant quantum space-times obtained by Snyder can be described by the coset generators of (anti) de-Sitter algebras. Similarly, the Lorentz-covariant quantum phase spaces introduced by Yang, which contain additionally quantum curved fourmomenta and quantum-deformed relativistic Heisenberg algebra, can be defined by suitably chosen coset generators of conformal algebras. We extend such algebraic construction to the respective superalgebras, which provide quantum Lorentz-covariant superspaces (SUSY Snyder model) and indicate also how to obtain the quantum relativistic phase superspaces (SUSY Yang model). In last Section we recall briefly other ways of deriving quantum phase (super)spaces and we compare the spinorial Snyder type models defining bosonic or fermionic quantum-deformed spinors.

Quantum $D = 3$ Euclidean and Poincaré symmetries from contraction limits

Following the recently obtained complete classification of quantum-deformed $\mathfrak{o}(4)$, $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$ and $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ algebras, characterized by classical $r$-matrices, we study their inhomogeneous $D = 3$ quantum IW contractions (i.e. the limit of vanishing cosmological constant), with Euclidean or Lorentzian signature. Subsequently, we compare our results with the complete list of $D = 3$ inhomogeneous Euclidean and $D = 3$ Poincaré quantum deformations obtained by P.~Stachura. It turns out that the IW contractions allow us to recover all Stachura deformations. We further discuss the applicability of our results in the models of 3D quantum gravity in the Chern-Simons formulation (both with and without the cosmological constant), where it is known that the relevant quantum deformations should satisfy the Fock-Rosly conditions. The latter deformations in part of the cases are associated with the Drinfeld double structures, which also have been recently investigated in detail.

Two $θ_{μν}$ -deformed covariant relativistic quantum phase spaces as Poincare-Hopf algebroids

We consider two quantum phase spaces which can be described by two Hopf algebroids linked with the well-known $θ_{μν}$-deformed $D=4$ Poincare-Hopf algebra $\mathbb{H}$. The first algebroid describes $θ_{μν}$-deformed relativistic phase space with canonical NC space-time (constant $θ_{μν}$ parameters) and the second one incorporates dual to $\mathbb{H}$ quantum $θ_{μν}$-deformed Poincare-Hopf group algebra $\mathbb{G}$, which contains noncommutative space-time translations given by $Λ$-dependent $Θ_{μν}$ parameters ($% Λ$ $\equiv Λ_{μν}$ parametrize classical Lorentz group). The canonical $θ_{μν}$-deformed space-time algebra and its quantum phase space extension is covariant under the quantum Poincare transformations described by $\mathbb{G}$. We will also comment on the use of Hopf algebroids for the description of multiparticle structures in quantum phase spaces.

Towards a $Z_3$-graded approach to quarks' symmetries

Colour $SU(3)$ group is an exact symmetry of Quantum Chromodynamics, which describes strong interactions between quarks and gluons. Supplemented by two internal symmetries, $SU(2)$ and $U(1)$, it serves as the internal symmetry of the Standard Model, describing as well the electroweak interactions of quarks and leptons. The colour$SU(3)$ symmetry is exact, while two other symmetries are broken by means of the Higgs-Kibble mechanism. The three colours and fractional quarks charges with values $1/3$ and $2/3$ suggest that the cyclic group $Z_3$ may play a crucial role in quark field dynamics. In this paper we consequently apply the $Z_3$ symmetry to field multiplets describing colour quark fields. Generalized Dirac equation for coloured $12$-component spinors is introduced and its properties are discussed. Imposing $Z_3$-graded Lorentz and Poincaré covariance leads to enlargement of quark fields multiplets and incorporates additional $Z_2 \times Z_3$ symmetry which leads to the appearance of three generations (families) of distinct quark doublets.

Yang-Baxter sigma models and Lax pairs arising from $κ$-Poincaré $r$-matrices

We study Yang-Baxter sigma models with deformed 4D Minkowski spacetimes arising from classical $r$-matrices associated with $κ$-deformations of the Poincaré algebra. These classical $κ$-Poincaré $r$-matrices describe three kinds of deformations: 1) the standard deformation, 2) the tachyonic deformation, and 3) the light-cone deformation. For each deformation, the metric and two-form $B$-field are computed from the associated $r$-matrix. The first two deformations, related to the modified classical Yang-Baxter equation, lead to T-duals of dS$_4$ and AdS$_4$\,, respectively. The third deformation, associated with the homogeneous classical Yang-Baxter equation, leads to a time-dependent pp-wave background. Finally, we construct a Lax pair for the generalized $κ$-Poincaré $r$-matrix that unifies the three kinds of deformations mentioned above as special cases.

Deformed Covariant Quantum Phase Spaces as Hopf Algebroids

We consider the general D=4 (10+10)-dimensional kappa-deformed quantum phase space as given by Heisenberg double \mathcal{H} of D=4 kappa-deformed Poincare-Hopf algebra H. The standard (4+4) -dimensional kappa - deformed covariant quantum phase space spanned by kappa - deformed Minkowski coordinates and commuting momenta generators ({x}_{μ},{p}_{μ}) is obtained as the subalgebra of \mathcal{H}. We study further the property that Heisenberg double defines particular quantum spaces with Hopf algebroid structure. We calculate by using purely algebraic methods the explicite Hopf algebroid structure of standard kappa - deformed quantum covariant phase space in Majid-Ruegg bicrossproduct basis. The coproducts for Hopf algebroids are not unique, determined modulo the coproduct gauge freedom. Finally we consider the interpretation of the algebraic description of quantum phase spaces as Hopf algebroids.

Real and pseudoreal forms of D=4 complex Euclidean (super)algebras and super-Poincare / super-Euclidean r-matrices

We provide the classification of real forms of complex D=4 Euclidean algebra $\mathcalε(4; \mathbb{C}) = \mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})) \ltimes \mathbf{T}_{\mathbb{C}}^4$ as well as (pseudo)real forms of complex D=4 Euclidean superalgebras $\mathcalε(4|N; \mathbb{C})$ for N=1,2. Further we present our results: N=1 and N=2 supersymmetric D=4 Poincare and Euclidean r-matrices obtained by using D= 4 Poincare r-matrices provided by Zakrzewski [1]. For N=2 we shall consider the general superalgebras with two central charges.

Massive twistor particle with spin generated by Souriau-Wess-Zumino term and its quantization

We present new model of D=4 relativistic massive particle with spin and we describe its quantization. The model is obtained by an extension of standard relativistic phase space description of massive spinless particle by adding new topological Souriau-Wess-Zumino term which depends on spin fourvector variable. We describe equivalently our model as given by the free two-twistor action with suitable constraints. An important tool in our derivation is the spin-dependent twistor shift, which modifies standard Penrose incidence relations. The quantization of the model provides the wave function with correct mass and spin eigenvalues.

Quantum Gravity models - brief conceptual summary

After short historical overview we describe the difficulties with application of standard QFT methods in quantum gravity (QG). The incompatibility of QG with the use of classical continuous space-time required conceptually new approach. We present briefly three proposals: loop quantum gravity (LQG), the field-theoretic framework on noncommutative space-time and QG models formulated on discretized (triangularized) space-time. We evaluate these models as realizing expected important properties of QG: background independence, consistent quantum diffeomorphisms, noncommutative or discrete structure of space-time at very short distances, finite/renormalizable QG corrections. We only briefly outline an important issue of embedding QG into larger geometric and dynamical frameworks (e.g. supergravity, (super)strings, p-branes, M-theory), with the aim to achieve full unification of all fundamental interactions.

Maxwell group and HS field theory

We consider the master fields for HS multiplets defined on 10-dimensional tensorial extension \tilde{\cal M} of D=4 space-time described as a coset \tilde{\cal M}={\cal M}/Sl(2;C) of 16-parameter Maxwell group {\cal M}. The tensorial coordinates provide a geometrization of the coupling to constant uniform EM fields. We describe the spinorial model in extended space-time \tilde{\cal M} and by its first quantization we obtain new infinite HS-Maxwell multiplets with their massless components coupled to each other through constant EM background. We conclude our report by observing that three-dimensional spinorial model with a pair of spinors should provide after quantization D=3 massive HS-Maxwell multiplets.

New spinorial particle model in tensorial space-time and interacting higher spin fields

The Maxwell-covariant particle model is formulated in tensorial extended D=4 space-time (x_mu, z_{mu nu}) parametrized by ten-dimensional coset of D=4 Maxwell group, with added auxiliary Weyl spinors lambda_alpha, y^alpha. We provide the Hamiltonian quantization of the model and demonstrate that first class constraints modify the known equations obtained for massless higher spin fields in flat tensorial space-time. We obtain the Maxwell-covariant field equations for new infinite dimensional spin multiplets. The component fields assigned to different spin values are linked by couplings proportional to rescaled electromagnetic coupling constant \tilde e = em, where m is the mass-like parameter introduced in our model. We discuss briefly the geometry of our tensorial space-time with constant torsion and its relation with the presence of constant electromagnetic background.

Braided Field Quantization from Quantum Poincare Covariance

We demonstrate that the covariance of the algebra of quantum NC fields under quantum-deformed Poincare symmetries implies the appearence of braided algebra of fields and the notion of braided locality in NC QFT. We briefly recall the historical development of NC QFT which was firstly formulated in the framework using classical relativistic symmetries but further it was described as generated by the quantum-deformed symmetries. We argue that consistent covariant quantum-deformed formalism requires "braiding all the way", in particular braided commutator of deformed field oscillators as well as the braid between the field oscillators and noncommutative Fourier exponentials. As example of braided quantum-deformed NC QFT we describe the NC scalar free fields on noncommutative canonical (Moyal-Weyl) space-time with braided c-number field commutator which implies braided locality.

Braided Tensor Products and the Covariance of Quantum Noncommutative Free Fields

We introduce the free quantum noncommutative fields as described by braided tensor products. The multiplication of such fields is decomposed into three operations, describing the multiplication in the algebra M of functions on noncommutative space-time, the product in the algebra H of deformed field oscillators, and the braiding by factor Psi_{M,H} between algebras M and H. For noncommutativity generated by the twist factor we shall employ the star-product realizations of the algebra M in terms of functions on standard Minkowski space. The covariance of single noncommutative quantum fields under deformed Poincare symmetries is described by the algebraic covariance conditions which are equivalent to the deformation of generalized Heisenberg equations on Poincare group manifold. We shall calculate the covariant braided field commutator, which for free quantum noncommutative fields provides the field quantization condition and is given by standard Pauli-Jordan function. For ilustration of our new scheme we present explicit calculations for the well-known case in the literature of canonically deformed free quantum fields.

Braided algebras and the kappa-deformed oscillators

Recently there were presented several proposals how to formulate the binary relations describing kappa-deformed oscillator algebras. In this paper we shall consider multilinear products of kappa-deformed oscillators consistent with the axioms of braided algebras. In general case the braided triple products are quasi-associative and satisfy the hexagon condition depending on the coassociator $Phi \in A\otimes A\otimes A$. We shall consider only the products of kappa-oscillators consistent with co-associative braided algebra, with Phi =1. We shall consider three explicite examples of binary kappa-deformed oscillator algebra relations and describe briefly their multilinear coassociative extensions satisfying the postulates of braided algebras. The third example, describing kappa-deformed oscillators in group manifold approach to kappa-deformed fourmomenta, is a new result.

Galilean Conformal and Superconformal Symmetries

Firstly we discuss briefly three different algebras named as nonrelativistic (NR) conformal: Schroedinger, Galilean conformal and infinite algebra of local NR conformal isometries. Further we shall consider in some detail Galilean conformal algebra (GCA) obtained in the limit c equal to infinity from relativistic conformal algebra O(d+1,2) (d - number of space dimensions). Two different contraction limits providing GCA and some recently considered realizations will be briefly discussed. Finally by considering NR contraction of D=4 superconformal algebra the Galilei conformal superalgebra (GCSA) is obtained, in the formulation using complex Weyl supercharges.

Galilean Conformal Mechanics from Nonlinear Realizations

We apply the nonlinear realizations method for constructing new Galilean conformal mechanics models. Our starting point is the Galilean conformal algebra which is a non-relativistic contraction of its relativistic counterpart. We calculate Maurer-Cartan one-forms, examine various choices of the relevant coset spaces and consider the geometric inverse Higgs-type constraints which reduce the number of the independent coset parameters and, in some cases, provide dynamical equations. New Galilean conformally invariant actions are derived in arbitrary space-time dimension D=d+1 (no central charges), as well as in the special dimension D=2+1 with one "exotic" central charge. We obtain new classical mechanics models which extend the standard (D=0+1) conformal mechanics in the presence of d non-vanishing space dimensions.

Generalized cosmological term from Maxwell symmetries

By gauging the Maxwell spacetime algebra the standard geometric framework of Einstein gravity with cosmological constant term is extended by adding six fourvector fields A_μ^{ab}(x) associated with the six abelian tensorial charges in the Maxwell algebra. In the simplest Maxwell extension of Einstein gravity this leads to a generalized cosmological term that includes a contribution from these vector fields. We also consider going beyond the basic gravitational model by means of bilinear actions for the new Abelian gauge fields. Finally, an analogy with the supersymmetric generalization of gravity is indicated. In an Appendix, we propose an equivalent description of the model in terms of a shift of the standard spin connection by the A_μ^{ab}(x) fields.

Supersymmetrization Schemes of D=4 Maxwell Algebra

The Maxwell algebra, an enlargement of Poincare algebra by Abelian tensorial generators, can be obtained in arbitrary dimension D by the suitable contraction of O(D-1,1) \oplus O(D-1,2) (Lorentz algebra \oplus AdS algebra). We recall that in D=4 the Lorentz algebra O(3,1) is described by the realification Sp_R(2|C) of complex algebra Sp(2|C)\simeq Sl(2|C) and O(3,2)\simeq Sp(4). We study various D=4 N-extended Maxwell superalgebras obtained by the contractions of real superalgebras OSp_R(2N-k; 2|C)\oplus OSp(k;4), (k=1,2,...,2N) (extended Lorentz superalgebra \oplus extended AdS superalgebra). If N=1 (k=1,2) one arrives at two different versions of simple Maxwell superalgebra. For any fixed N we get 2N different superextensions of Maxwell algebra with n-extended Poincare superalgebras (1\leq n \leq N) and the internal symmetry sectors obtained by suitable contractions of the real algebra O_R(2N-k|C)\oplus O(k). Finally the comments on possible applications of Maxwell superalgebras are presented.

The algebraic structure of Galilean superconformal symmetries

The semisimple part of d-dimensional Galilean conformal algebra g^(d) is given by h^(d)=O(2,1)+O(d), which after adding via semidirect sum the 3d-dimensional Abelian algebra t^(d) of translations, Galilean boosts and constant accelerations completes the construction. We obtain Galilean superconformal algebra G^(d) by firstly defining the semisimple superalgebra H^(d) which supersymmetrizes h^(d), and further by considering the expansion of H^(d) by tensorial and spinorial graded Abelian charges in order to supersymmetrize the Abelian generators of t^(d). For d=3 the supersymmetrization of h^(3) is linked with specific model of N=4 extended superconformal mechanics, which is described by the superalgebra D(2,1;α) if α=1. We shall present as well the alternative derivations of extended Galilean superconformal algebras for d=1,2,3,4,5 by employing the Inonu-Wigner contraction method.

D=4 Extended Galilei Superalgebras with Central Charges

We perform a nonrelativistic contraction of N-extended Poincare superalgebra with internal symmetry U(N) and general set of N(N-1) real central charges. We show that for even N=2k and particular choice of the dependence of Z_{ij} on light velocity c one gets the N-extended Galilei superalgebra with unchanged number of central charges and compact internal symmetry algebra U(k;H)=USp(2k). The Hamiltonian positivity condition is modified only by one central charge. If we put all the central charges equal to zero one gets the 2k-extended Galilei superalgebra as the subalgebra of recently introduced extended Galilei conformal superalgebra [1,2].

From Quantum Deformations of Relativistic Symmetries to Modified Kinematics and Dynamics

We present a short review describing the use of noncommutative space-time in quantum-deformed dynamical theories: classical and quantum mechanics as well as classical and quantum field theory. We expose the role of Hopf algebras and their realizations (noncommutative modules) as important mathematical tool describing quantum-deformed symmetries: quantum Lie groups and quantum Lie algebras. We consider in some detail the most studied examples of noncommutative space-time geometry: the canonical and $κ$-deformed cases. Finally we briefly describe the modifications of Einstein gravity obtained by introduction of noncommutative space-time coordinates.

Generalized Wigner-Inonu Contractions and Maxwell (Super)Algebras

We consider a class of generalized Inonu-Wigner contraction for semidirect product of two particularly related semisimple Lie (super)algebras. The special class of such contractions provides D=4 Maxwell algebra and recently introduced simple D=4 Maxwell superalgebra. Further we present two types of D=4 N-extended Maxwell superalgebras, the nonstandard one for any N with 1/2 N(N-1) central charges and the standard one, for even N=2k, with k(2k-1) internal symmetry generators.

Maxwell Superalgebra and Superparticle in Constant Gauge Backgrounds

We present SuperMaxwell algebra: an N=1, D=4 algebra with two Majorana supercharges, obtained as the minimal enlargement of superPoincare containing the Maxwell algebra as a subalgebra. The new superalgebra describes the supersymmetries of generalized N=1, D=4 superspace in the presence of a constant Abelian SUSY field strength background. Applying the techniques of non-linear coset realization to the Maxwell supergroup we propose a new kappa-invariant massless superparticle model providing a dynamical realization of the SuperMaxwell algebra.

Deformed Maxwell Algebras and their Realizations

We study all possible deformations of the Maxwell algebra. In D=d+1\neq 3 dimensions there is only one-parameter deformation. The deformed algebra is isomorphic to so(d+1,1)\oplus so(d,1) or to so(d,2)\oplus so(d,1) depending on the signs of the deformation parameter. We construct in the dS (AdS) space a model of massive particle interacting with Abelian vector field via non-local Lorentz force. In D=2+1 the deformations depend on two parameters b and k. We construct a phase diagram, with two parts of the (b,k) plane with so(3,1)\oplus so(2,1) and so(2,2)\oplus so(2,1) algebras separated by a critical curve along which the algebra is isomorphic to Iso(2,1)\oplus so(2,1). We introduce in D=2+1 the Volkov-Akulov type model for a Abelian Goldstone-Nambu vector field described by a non-linear action containing as its bilinear term the free Chern-Simons Lagrangean.

kappa-Deformed Oscillators: Deformed Multiplication Versus Deformed Flip Operator and Multiparticle Clusters

We transform the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed multiplication rule, proposed in [1],[2], into the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed flip operator and standard multiplication. We recall that the kappa-multiplication of the kappa-oscillators puts them off-shell. We study the explicit forms of modified mass-shell conditions in both formulations: with kappa-multiplication and with kappa-flip operation. On the example of kappa-deformed 2-particle states we study the clustered nonfactorizable form of the kappa-deformed multiparticle states. We argue that the kappa-deformed star product of two free fields leads in similar way to a nonfactorizable kappa-deformed bilocal field. We conclude with general remarks concerning the kappa-deformed n-particle clusters and kappa-deformed star product of n fields.

Noncommutative Translations and $\star$-Product Formalism

We consider the noncommutative space-times with Lie-algebraic noncommutativity (e.g. $κ$-deformed Minkowski space). In the framework with classical fields we extend the $\star$-product in order to represent the noncommutative translations in terms of commutative ones. We show the translational invariance of noncommutative bilinear action with local product of noncommutative fields. The quadratic noncommutativity is also briefly discussed.

Twistorial versus space--time formulations: unification of various string models

We introduce the D=4 twistorial tensionfull bosonic string by considering the canonical twistorial 2--form in two--twistor space. We demonstrate its equivalence to two bosonic string models: due to Siegel (with covariant worldsheet vectorial string momenta $P_μ^{m}(τ,σ)$) and the one with tensorial string momenta $P_{[μν]}(τ,σ)$. We show how to obtain in mixed space-time--twistor formulation the Soroka--Sorokin--Tkach--Volkov (SSTV) string model and subsequently by harmonic gauge fixing the Bandos--Zheltukhin (BZ) model, with constrained spinorial coordinates.

Higher Spins from Nonlinear Realizations of $OSp(1|8)$

We exhibit surprising relations between higher spin theory and nonlinear realizations of the supergroup $OSp(1|8)$, a minimal superconformal extension of N=1, 4D supersymmetry with tensorial charges. We construct a realization of $OSp(1|8)$ on the coset supermanifold $OSp(1|8)/SL(4,R)$ which involves the tensorial superspace $R^{(10|4)}$ and Goldstone superfields given on it. The covariant superfield equation encompassing the component ones for all integer and half-integer massless higher spins amounts to the vanishing of covariant spinor derivatives of the suitable Goldstone superfields, and, via Maurer-Cartan equations, to the vanishing of $SL(4,R)$ supercurvature in odd directions of $R^{(10|4)}$. Aiming at higher spin extension of the Ogievetsky-Sokatchev formulation of N=1 supergravity, we generalize the notion of N=1 chirality and construct first examples of invariant superfield actions involving a non-trivial interaction. Some other potential implications of $OSp(1|8)$ in the proposed setting are briefly outlined.

Generalized Space-time Supersymmetries, Division Algebras and Octonionic M-theory

We describe the set of generalized Poincare and conformal superalgebras in D=4,5 and 7 dimensions as two sequences of superalgebraic structures, taking values in the division algebras R, C and H. The generalized conformal superalgebras are described for D=4 by OSp(1;8| R), for D=5 by SU(4,4;1) and for D=7 by U_αU(8;1|H). The relation with other schemes, in particular the framework of conformal spin (super)algebras and Jordan (super)algebras is discussed. By extending the division-algebra-valued superalgebras to octonions we get in D=11 an octonionic generalized Poincare superalgebra, which we call octonionic M-algebra, describing the octonionic M-theory. It contains 32 real supercharges but, due to the octonionic structure, only 52 real bosonic generators remain independent in place of the 528 bosonic charges of standard M-algebra. In octonionic M-theory there is a sort of equivalence between the octonionic M2 (supermembrane) and the octonionic M5 (super-5-brane) sectors. We also define the octonionic generalized conformal M-superalgebra, with 239 bosonic generators.

The OSp(1|4) Superparticle and Exotic BPS States

We discuss the dynamics of a superparticle in a superspace whose isometry is generated by the superalgebra OSp(1|4) or its central-charge contraction. Extra coordinates of the superspace associated with tensorial central charges are shown to describe spin degrees of freedom of the superparticle, so quantum states form an infinite tower of (half)-integer helicities. A peculiar feature of the model is that it admits BPS states which preserve 3/4 of target-space supersymmetries.

We describe the deformed covariant phase space corresponding to the so-called kappa-deformation of D=4 relativistic symmetries, with quantum ``time'' coordinate and Heisenberg algebra obtained according to the Heisenberg double construction. Twisted Classical Poincaré Algebras

We consider the twisting of Hopf structure for classical enveloping algebra $U(\hat{g})$, where $\hat{g}$ is the inhomogenous rotations algebra, with explicite formulae given for $D=4$ Poincaré algebra $(\hat{g}={\cal P}_4).$ The comultiplications of twisted $U^F({\cal P}_4)$ are obtained by conjugating primitive classical coproducts by $F\in U(\hat{c})\otimes U(\hat{c}),$ where $\hat{c}$ denotes any Abelian subalgebra of ${\cal P}_4$, and the universal $R-$matrices for $U^F({\cal P}_4)$ are triangular. As an example we show that the quantum deformation of Poincaré algebra recently proposed by Chaichian and Demiczev is a twisted classical Poincaré algebra. The interpretation of twisted Poincaré algebra as describing relativistic symmetries with clustered 2-particle states is proposed.
