Capacities and density conditions in metric spaces

We examine the relations between different capacities in the setting of a metric measure space. First, we prove a comparability result for the Riesz $(β,p)$-capacity and the relative Hajlasz $(β,p)$-capacity, for $1<p<\infty$ and $0<β\le 1$, under a suitable kernel estimate related to the Riesz potential. Then we show that in geodesic spaces the corresponding capacity density conditions are equivalent even without assuming the kernel estimate. In the last part of the paper, we compare the relative Hajlasz $(1,p)$-capacity to the relative variational $p$-capacity.

Minimal conditions for BMO

We study minimal integrability conditions via Luxemburg-type expressions with respect to generalized oscillations that imply the membership of a given function $f$ to the space BMO. Our method is simple, sharp and flexible enough to be adapted to several different settings, like spaces of homogeneous type, non doubling measures on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and also BMO spaces defined over more general bases than the basis of cubes.

Sharp reverse Hölder inequality for $C_p$ weights and applications

We prove an appropriate sharp quantitative reverse Hölder inequality for the $C_p$ class of weights from which we obtain as a limiting case the sharp reverse Hölder inequality for the $A_\infty$ class of weights. We use this result to provide a quantitative weighted norm inequality between Calderón-Zygmund operators and the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function, precisely \[ \|Tf\|_{L^p(w)} \lesssim_{T,n,p,q} [w]_{C_q}(1+\log^+[w]_{C_q})\|Mf\|_{L^p(w)}, \] for $w\in C_q$ and $q>p>1$, quantifying Sawyer's theorem.
