Global Analysis of Dark Matter Simplified Models with Leptophobic Spin-One Mediators using MasterCode

We report the results of a global analysis of dark matter simplified models (DMSMs) with leptophobic mediator particles of spin one, considering the cases of both vector and axial-vector interactions with dark matter (DM) particles and quarks. We require the DMSMs to provide all the cosmological DM density indicated by Planck and other observations, and we impose the upper limits on spin-independent and -dependent scattering from direct DM search experiments. We also impose all relevant LHC constraints from searches for monojet events and measurements of the dijet mass spectrum. We model the likelihood functions for all the constraints and combine them within the MasterCode framework, and probe the full DMSM parameter spaces by scanning over the mediator and DM masses and couplings, not fixing any of the model parameters. We find, in general, two allowed regions of the parameter spaces: one in which the mediator couplings to Standard Model (SM) and DM particles may be comparable to those in the SM and the cosmological DM density is reached via resonant annihilation, and one in which the mediator couplings to quarks are ≲10−3\lesssim 10^{-3} and DM annihilation is non-resonant. We find that the DM and mediator masses may well lie within the ranges accessible to LHC experiments. We also present predictions for spin-independent and -dependent DM scattering, and present specific results for ranges of the DM couplings that may be favoured in ultraviolet completions of the DMSMs.

Pointlike reducibility of pseudovarieties of the form V∗D\bf V*\bf D

In this paper, we investigate the reducibility property of semidirect products of the form V∗D\bf V*\bf D relatively to (pointlike) systems of equations of the form x1=⋯=xnx_1=\cdots=x_n, where D\bf D denotes the pseudovariety of definite semigroups. We establish a connection between pointlike reducibility of V∗D\bf V*\bf D and the pointlike reducibility of the pseudovariety V\bf V. In particular, for the canonical signature κκ consisting of the multiplication and the (ω−1)(ω-1)-power, we show that V∗D\bf V*\bf D is pointlike κκ-reducible when V\bf V is pointlike κκ-reducible.

Reducibility of pointlike problems

We show that the pointlike and the idempotent pointlike problems are reducible with respect to natural signatures in the following cases: the pseudovariety of all finite semigroups in which the order of every subgroup is a product of elements of a fixed set of primes; the pseudovariety of all finite semigroups in which every regular J-class is the product of a rectangular band by a group from a fixed pseudovariety of groups that is reducible for the pointlike problem, respectively graph reducible. Allowing only trivial groups, we obtain omega-reducibility of the pointlike and idempotent pointlike problems, respectively for the pseudovarieties of all finite aperiodic semigroups (A) and of all finite semigroups in which all regular elements are idempotents (DA).

The word problem for κκ-terms over the pseudovariety of local groups

In this paper we study the κκ-word problem for the pseudovariety LG{\bf LG} of local groups, where κκ is the canonical signature consisting of the multiplication and the pseudoinversion. We solve this problem by transforming each arbitrary κκ-term αα into another one called the canonical form of αα and by showing that different canonical forms have different interpretations over LG{\bf LG}. The procedure of construction of these canonical forms consists in applying elementary changes determined by a certain set ΣΣ of κκ-identities. As a consequence, ΣΣ is a basis of κκ-identities for the κκ-variety generated by LG{\bf LG}.

Semigroup presentations for test local groups

In this paper we exhibit a type of semigroup presentations which determines a class of local groups. We show that the finite elements of this class generate the pseudovariety LG{\bf LG} of all finite local groups and use them as test-semigroups to prove that LG{\bf LG} and S{\bf S}, the pseudovariety of all finite semigroups, verify the same κκ-identities involving κκ-terms of rank at most 1, where κκ denotes the implicit signature consisting of the multiplication and the (ω−1)(ω-1)-power.
