On a model with two scalar leptoquarks -- R2R_2 and S3S_3

We discuss a model that can accommodate the BB-physics anomalies, based on combining two scalar leptoquarks, R2R_2 and S3S_3, of mass O(1 TeV)\mathcal{O}(1\,\mathrm{TeV}), and that we proposed in our previous paper. We update the analysis of its parameter space and show that a model remains viable and consistent with a number of low energy and high energy flavor physics constraints. Since the model predicts a non-zero New Physics phase, we discuss the possibility to test its contribution to the neutron electric dipole moment and to the angular distributions of the exclusive b→cτνˉb\to cτ\bar ν decays. We find that the model can provide a significant enhancement to B(B→K(∗)νν)\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(\ast)}νν) and provides both the upper and lower bounds to B(B→K(∗)μτ)\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(\ast)}μτ).

Triple-leptoquark interactions for tree- and loop-level proton decays

We study the impact of triple-leptoquark interactions on matter stability for two specific proton decay topologies that arise at the tree- and one-loop level if and when they coexist. We demonstrate that the one-loop level topology is much more relevant than the tree-level one when it comes to the proton decay signatures despite the usual loop-suppression factor. We subsequently present detailed analysis of the triple-leptoquark interaction effects on the proton stability within one representative scenario to support our claim, where the scenario in question simultaneously features a tree-level topology that yields three-body proton decay p→e+e+e−p\to e^+ e^+ e^- and a one-loop level topology that induces two-body proton decays p→π0e+p\to π^0 e^+ and p→π+νˉp\to π^+ \barν. We also provide a comprehensive list of the leading-order proton decay channels for all non-trivial cubic and quartic contractions involving three scalar leptoquark multiplets that generate triple-leptoquark interactions of our interest, where in the latter case one of the scalar multiplets is the Standard Model Higgs doublet.

Novel Leptoquark Pair Production at LHC

We introduce a novel mechanism for the leptoquark pair production at LHC that is of a tt-channel topology and is quark-quark initiated. This mechanism operates under fairly general conditions. One of them is that the two leptoquarks in question couple to the same lepton and the other one is that the fermion numbers of these two leptoquarks differ by two. The strength of the proposed mechanism provides an alternative way to the conventional processes to efficiently constrain the parameter space of the two leptoquark scenarios at LHC whenever the aforementioned conditions are met. We accordingly present one case study to outline the physics potential of this novel production mechanism.

Muon g−2g-2 and scalar leptoquark mixing

The observed muon anomalous magnetic moment deviates from the Standard Model predictions. There are two scalar leptoquarks with simultaneous couplings to the quark-muon pairs of both chiralities that can singly explain this discrepancy. We discuss an alternative mechanism that calls for the mixing of two scalar leptoquarks of the same electric charge through the interaction with the Higgs field, where the two leptoquarks separately couple to the quark-muon pairs of opposite chirality structures. Three scenarios that satisfy this requirement are S1 & S3S_1\,\&\, {S}_3, S~1 & S3\widetilde{S}_1\,\&\, S_3, and R~2 & R2\widetilde{R}_2\,\&\, R_2, where the first scenario is realised with the up-type quarks running in the loops while the other two scenarios proceed through the down-type quark loops. We introduce only two non-zero Yukawa couplings to the relevant quarks and a muon, at the time, to study ability of these three scenarios to explain (g−2)μ(g-2)_μ and be in accord with available experimental constraints. We find that the S1 & S3S_1\,\&\, {S}_3 scenario with the top-quark loops is consistent with all existing measurements. The S~1 & S3\widetilde{S}_1\,\&\, S_3 and R~2 & R2\widetilde{R}_2\,\&\, R_2 scenarios can accommodate the observed discrepancy through the bottom-quark loops but exhibit significant tension with the existing data on the high-pTp_T dilepton-tails at LHC for the required values of Yukawa couplings and leptoquark masses.

Towards Minimal SU(5)

We propose a simple SU(5)SU(5) model that connects the neutrino mass generation mechanism to the observed disparity between the masses of charged leptons and down-type quarks. The model is built out of 55-, 1010-, 1515-, 2424-, and 3535-dimensional representations of SU(5)SU(5) and comprises two (three) 3×33 \times 3 (3×13 \times 1) Yukawa coupling matrices to accommodate all experimentally measured fermion masses and mixing parameters. The gauge coupling unification considerations, coupled with phenomenological constraints inferred from experiments that probe neutrino masses and mixing parameters and/or look for proton decay, fix all relevant mass scales of the model. The proposed scenario places several multiplets at the scales potentially accessible at the LHC and future colliders and correlates this feature with the gauge boson mediated proton decay signatures. It also predicts that one neutrino is massless.

A comparative study of the S1S_1 and U1U_1 leptoquark effects in the light quark regime

We study the phenomenology of two leptoquarks, the Standard Model SU(2)SU(2) singlets S1S_1 and U1U_1, with regard to the latest experimental data from the low-energy flavor physics measurements, LHC, and the IceCube neutrino experiment. We consider a scenario when scalar (vector) leptoquark S1S_1 (U1U_1) couples exclusively to the down quark and the neutrinos (charged leptons) of all flavors, where the leptoquark in question couples to the SM lepton doublets. The couplings of S1S_1 (U1U_1) to the up-type quarks and the charged leptons (neutrinos) are in turn uniquely determined via SU(2)SU(2) symmetry. We find that the most important constraints on the leptoquark parameter space originate from flavor physics measurements, followed by the LHC search limits that take over the flavor physics ones in the large LQ mass regime. We furthermore show that S1S_1 (U1U_1) marginally improves (spoils) the fit of the current IceCube data with respect to the SM case within the region of parameter space that is otherwise consistent with various low-energy flavor physics measurements and the latest LHC input. Our study offers an up-to-date analysis for these two leptoquarks in view of the latest experimental data.
