Jacobi - type identities in algebras and superalgebras

We introduce two remarkable identities written in terms of single commutators and anticommutators for any three elements of arbitrary associative algebra. One is a consequence of other (fundamental identity). From the fundamental identity, we derive a set of four identities (one of which is the Jacobi identity) represented in terms of double commutators and anticommutators. We establish that two of the four identities are independent and show that if the fundamental identity holds for an algebra, then the multiplication operation in that algebra is associative. We find a generalization of the obtained results to the super case and give a generalization of the fundamental identity in the case of arbitrary elements. For nondegenerate even symplectic (super)manifolds, we discuss analogues of the fundamental identity.

Generalized oscillator representations for generalized Calogero Hamiltonians

This paper is a natural continuation of the previous paper \cite{TyuVo13} where generalized oscillator representations for Calogero Hamiltonians with potential $V(x)=α/x^2$, $α\geq-1/4$, were constructed. In this paper, we present generalized oscillator representations for all generalized Calogero Hamiltonians with potential $V(x)=g_{1}/x^2+g_{2}x^2$, $g_{1}\geq-1/4$, $g_{2}>0$. These representations are generally highly nonunique, but there exists an optimum representation for each Hamiltonian, representation that explicitly determines the ground state and the ground-state energy. For generalized Calogero Hamiltonians with coupling constants $g_1<-1/4$ or $g_2<0$, generalized oscillator representations do not exist in agreement with the fact that the respective Hamiltonians are not bounded from below.

Electronic Structure of Superheavy Atoms. Revisited

The electronic structure of an atom with Z <= 137 can be described by the Dirac equation with the Coulomb field of a point charge Ze. It was believed that the Dirac equation with Z > 137 is inconsistent and physically meaningless because the formula for the lower energy level of the Dirac Hamiltonian formally gives imaginary eigenvalues. But a strict mathematical consideration shows that difficulties with the electronic spectrum for Z > 137 do not arise if the Dirac Hamiltonian is correctly defined as a self-adjoint operator, see [1]. In this article, we brie y summarize the main physical results of that consideration in a form suitable for physicists with some additional new details and numerical calculations of the electronic spectra. Generalized oscillator representations for Calogero Hamiltonians

This paper is a natural continuation of the previous paper J.Phys. A: Math.Theor. 44 (2011) 425204, arXiv 0907.1736 [quant-ph] where oscillator representations for nonnegative Calogero Hamiltonians with coupling constant $α\geq-1/4$ were constructed. Here, we present generalized oscillator representations for all Calogero Hamiltonians with $α\geq-1/4$.These representations are generally highly nonunique, but there exists an optimum representation for each Hamiltonian.

About dual two-dimensional oscillator and Coulomb-like theories on a plane

We present a mathematically rigorous quantum-mechanical treatment of a two-dimensional nonrelativistic quantum dual theories (with oscillator and Coulomb like potentials) on a plane and compare their spectra and the sets of eigenfunctions. All self-adjoint Schrodinger operators for these theories are constructed and rigorous solutions of the corresponding spectral problems are presented. The first part of the problem is solved by using a method of specifying s.a. extensions by (asymptotic) s.a. boundary conditions. Solving spectral problems, we follow the Krein's method of guiding functionals. We show, that there is one to one correspondence between the spectral points of dual theories in the planes energy-coupling constants not only for discrete, but also for continuous spectra.

Self-adjoint extensions and spectral analysis in the generalized Kratzer problem

We present a mathematically rigorous quantum-mechanical treatment of a one-dimensional nonrelativistic motion of a particle in the potential field $V(x)=g_{1}x^{-1}+g_{2}x^{-2}$. For $g_{2}>0$ and $g_{1}<0$, the potential is known as the Kratzer potential and is usually used to describe molecular energy and structure, interactions between different molecules, and interactions between non-bonded atoms. We construct all self-adjoint Schrodinger operators with the potential $V(x)$ and represent rigorous solutions of the corresponding spectral problems. Solving the first part of the problem, we use a method of specifying s.a. extensions by (asymptotic) s.a. boundary conditions. Solving spectral problems, we follow the Krein's method of guiding functionals. This work is a continuation of our previous works devoted to Coulomb, Calogero, and Aharonov-Bohm potentials.

Symmetry preserving self-adjoint extensions of Schrödinger operators with singular potentials

We develop a general technique for finding self-adjoint extensions of a symmetric operator that respect a given set of its symmetries. Problems of this type naturally arise when considering two- and three-dimensional Schrödinger operators with singular potentials. The approach is based on constructing a unitary transformation diagonalizing the symmetries and reducing the initial operator to the direct integral of a suitable family of partial operators. We prove that symmetry preserving self-adjoint extensions of the initial operator are in a one-to-one correspondence with measurable families of self-adjoint extensions of partial operators obtained by reduction. The general construction is applied to the three-dimensional Aharonov-Bohm Hamiltonian describing the electron in the magnetic field of an infinitely thin solenoid.

Self-adjoint extensions and spectral analysis in Calogero problem

In this paper, we present a mathematically rigorous quantum-mechanical treatment of a one-dimensional motion of a particle in the Calogero potential $αx^{-2}$. Although the problem is quite old and well-studied, we believe that our consideration, based on a uniform approach to constructing a correct quantum-mechanical description for systems with singular potentials and/or boundaries, proposed in our previous works, adds some new points to its solution. To demonstrate that a consideration of the Calogero problem requires mathematical accuracy, we discuss some "paradoxes" inherent in the "naive" quantum-mechanical treatment. We study all possible self-adjoint operators (self-adjoint Hamiltonians) associated with a formal differential expression for the Calogero Hamiltonian. In addition, we discuss a spontaneous scale-symmetry breaking associated with self-adjoint extensions. A complete spectral analysis of all self-adjoint Hamiltonians is presented.

Symmetries of dynamically equivalent theories

A natural and very important development of constrained system theory is a detail study of the relation between the constraint structure in the Hamiltonian formulation with specific features of the theory in the Lagrangian formulation, especially the relation between the constraint structure with the symmetries of the Lagrangian action. An important preliminary step in this direction is a strict demonstration, and this is the aim of the present article, that the symmetry structures of the Hamiltonian action and of the Lagrangian action are the same. This proved, it is sufficient to consider the symmetry structure of the Hamiltonian action. The latter problem is, in some sense, simpler because the Hamiltonian action is a first-order action. At the same time, the study of the symmetry of the Hamiltonian action naturally involves Hamiltonian constraints as basic objects. One can see that the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian actions are dynamically equivalent. This is why, in the present article, we consider from the very beginning a more general problem: how the symmetry structures of dynamically equivalent actions are related. First, we present some necessary notions and relations concerning infinitesimal symmetries in general, as well as a strict definition of dynamically equivalent actions. Finally, we demonstrate that there exists an isomorphism between classes of equivalent symmetries of dynamically equivalent actions.

Cohomologies of the Poisson superalgebra on (2,n)-superdimensional spaces

Cohomology spaces of the Poisson superalgebra realized on smooth Grassmann-valued functions with compact support on R^2 are investigated under suitable continuity restrictions on cochains. The zeroth, first, and second cohomology spaces in the adjoint representation of the Poisson superalgebra are found for the case of a nondegenerate constant Poisson superbracket.

Constraint Reorganization Consistent with the Dirac Procedure

The way of finding all the constraints in the Hamiltonian formulation of singular (in particular, gauge) theories is called the Dirac procedure. The constraints are naturally classified according to the correspondig stages of this procedure. On the other hand, it is convenient to reorganize the constraints such that they are explicitly decomposed into the first-class and second-class constraints. We discuss the reorganization of the constraints into the first- and second-class constraints that is consistent with the Dirac procedure, i.e., that does not violate the decomposition of the constraints according to the stages of the Dirac procedure. The possibility of such a reorganization is important for the study of gauge symmetries in the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations.

Pseudoclassical description of higher spins in $2+1$ dimensions

Pseudoclassical supersymmetric model to describe massive particles with higher spins (integer and half-integer) in $2+1$ dimensions is proposed. The quantization of the model leads to the minimal (with only one polarization state) quantum theory. In particular, the Bargmann-Wigner type equations for higher spins arise in course of the canonical quantization. The cases of spin one-half and one are considered in detail. Here one gets Dirac particles and Chern-Simons particles respectively. A relation with the field theory is discussed. On the basis of the model proposed, and using dimensional reduction considerations, a model to describe Weyl particles with higher spins in $3+1$ dimensions is constructed.

New Pseudoclassical model for Weyl particles

A new pseudoclassical model to describe Weyl particles is proposed. Different ways of its quantization are presented. They all lead to the theory of Weyl particle; namely, the massless Dirac equation and the Weyl condition are reproduced. In contrast with models discussed previously, this one admits both the Dirac quantization and quasicanonical quantization, with the fixation of almost all gauge freedom on the classical level.

On the Multilevel Field--Antifield Formalism with the Most General Lagrangian Hypergauges

The multilevel field-antifield formalism is constructed in a geometrically covariant way without imposing the unimodularity conditions on the hypergauge functions. Thus the previously given version [1,2] is extended to cover the most general case of Lagrangian surface bases. It is shown that the extra measure factors, required to enter the gauge-independent functional integrals, can be included naturally into the multilevel scheme by modifying the boundary conditions to the quantum master equation.

Quantization of pseudoclassical model of spin one relativistic particle

A consistent procedure of canonical quantization of pseudoclassical model for spin one relativistic particle is considered. Two approaches to treat the quantization for the massless case are discussed, the limit of the massive case and independent quantization of a modified action. Quantum mechanics constructed for the massive case proves to be equivalent to the Proca theory and for massless case to the Maxwell theory. Results obtained are compared with ones for the case of spinning (spin one half) particle.

Split Involution Coupled to Actual Gauge Symmetry

The split involution quantization scheme, proposed previously for pure second--class constraints only, is extended to cover the case of the presence of irreducible first--class constraints. The explicit Sp(2)--symmetry property of the formalism is retained to hold. The constraint algebra generating equations are formulated and the Unitarizing Hamiltonian is constructed. Physical operators and states are defined in the sense of the new equivalence criterion that is a natural counterpart to the Dirac's weak equality concept as applied to the first--class quantities.
