The $Z_H \to γH$ decay in the Littlest Higgs Model

We present the calculation of the $Z_H \to γH$ decay in the context of the Littlest Higgs model at one-loop level. Our calculations include the contributions of fermions, scalars and gauge bosons in accordance with the most recent experimental constraints on the parameters space of the model. We find branching ratios of the order of $10^{-5}$ for the energy scale $f=2,3,4$ TeV on the $0.1<c<0.9$ region. In order to provide a complementary study we calculated the production cross section of the $Z_H$ boson in $pp$ collisions at Large Hadron Collider with a center of mass energy of 14 TeV. By using the integrated luminosity projected for the Large Hadron Collider in the last stage of operation, we estimated the number of events for this process. Moreover, we analyze the SM background for the Higgs-photon associated production and found that the $pp\to Z_H X \to γH$ production is above the SM background.

Lepton flavor violating decay Z-> l_i l_j in the 331 model

We study the lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays Z-> l_i l_j (l_{i,j}=e,μ,τ) in the framework of the minimal 331 model. The main contributions arise at the one-loop level via a doubly charged bilepton with general LFV couplings. We obtain an estimate for the corresponding branching ratios by using the bounds on the LFV couplings of the doubly charged bilepton from the current experimental limits on the decays l_i-> l_jγand l_i-> l_j l_k l_k. A bound on the bilepton mass is also obtained through the current limit on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. It is found that the bilepton contributions to LFV Z decays are not expected to be at the reach of experimental detection. In particular, the branching ratio for the Z-> μτdecay is below the 10^{-10} level for a bilepton mass of the order of 500 GeV.

Radiative decay Z_H-> γA_H in the little Higgs model with T-parity

In the little Higgs model with T-parity (LHTM), the only tree-level kinematically allowed two-body decay of the Z_H boson is Z_H-> A_H H and thus one-loop induced two-body decays may have a significant rate. We study the Z_H-> γA_H decay, which is induced at the one-loop level by a fermion triangle and is interesting as it depends on the mechanism of anomaly cancellation of the model. All the relevant two- and three-body decays of the Z_H gauge boson arising at the tree-level are also calculated. We consider a small region of the parameter space where the scale of the symmetry breaking f is still allowed to be as low as 500 GeV by electroweak precision data. We first analyze the scenario of a Higgs boson with a mass of 120 GeV. We found that the Z_H->γA_H branching ratio can be of the order of a tree-level three-body decay and may be at the reach of detection at the LHC for f close to 500 GeV, but it may be difficult to detect for f=1 TeV. There is also an scenario where the Higgs boson has an intermediate mass such that the Z_H-> A_H H decay is closed, the Z_H-> γA_H gets considerably enhanced and the chances of detection get a large boost.

Radiative decays Z_H-> V_i Z (V_i=γ, Z) in little Higgs models

The study of the phenomenology of an extra neutral gauge boson, Z_H, can can help us to unravel the underlying theory. We study the decay of such a particle into two neutral gauge bosons, Z_H -> V_i Z (V_i=γ, Z), in two popular versions of the little Higgs model: the littlest Higgs model (LHM) and the simplest little Higgs model (SLHM). These decays are induced at the one-loop level by a fermion triangle and are interesting as they are strongly dependent on the mechanism of anomaly cancellation of the model. All the relevant tree-level two- and three-body decays of the Z_H gauge boson are also calculated. It is found that the branching ratios for the Z_H-> γZ decays can be as large as that of a tree-level three-body decay but the Z_H-> ZZ decay is very suppressed. We also discuss the experimental prospects for detecting these decays at the LHC and a future linear collider. We conclude that the latter would offer more chances for the detection of such rare decays.
