Determination of exotic hadron structure by constituent-counting rule for hard exclusive processes

We propose to use hard exclusive production of an exotic hadron for finding its internal quark-gluon configuration by the constituent-counting rule in perturbative QCD. In particular, the cross section for the exclusive process $π^- + p \to K^0 + Λ(1405)$ is estimated at the scattering angle $θ=90^\circ$ in the center-of-mass frame by using current experimental data. In comparison, the cross section for the ground-state $Λ$ production $π^- + p \to K^0 + Λ$ is also shown. We suggest that the internal quark configuration of $Λ(1405)$ should be determined by the asymptotic scaling behavior of the cross section. If it is an ordinary three-quark baryon, the scaling of the cross section is $s^{8} dσ/dt=$constant, whereas it is $s^{10} dσ/dt=$constant if $Λ(1405)$ is a five-quark hadron, where $s$ and $t$ are Mandelstam variables. Such a measurement will be possible, for example, by using the high-momentum beamline at J-PARC. In addition, another exclusive process $γ+ p \to K^+ + Λ(1405)$ could be investigated at LEPS and JLab for finding the nature of $Λ(1405)$. We indicate that the constituent-counting rule could be used as a valuable quantity in determining internal structure of exotic hadrons by high-energy exclusive processes, where quark-gluon degrees of freedom explicitly appear. Furthermore, it is interesting to investigate the transition from hadron degrees of freedom to quark-gluon ones for exclusive exotic-hadron production processes.

Evolution equation for the B-meson distribution amplitude in the heavy-quark effective theory in coordinate space

The B-meson distribution amplitude (DA) is defined as the matrix element of a quark-antiquark bilocal light-cone operator in the heavy-quark effective theory, corresponding to a long-distance component in the factorization formula for exclusive B-meson decays. The evolution equation for the B-meson DA is governed by the cusp anomalous dimension as well as the Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi-type anomalous dimension, and these anomalous dimensions give the "quasilocal" kernel in the coordinate-space representation. We show that this evolution equation can be solved analytically in the coordinate-space, accomplishing the relevant Sudakov resummation at the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. The quasilocal nature leads to a quite simple form of our solution which determines the B-meson DA with a quark-antiquark light-cone separation $t$ in terms of the DA at a lower renormalization scale $μ$ with smaller interquark separations $zt$ ($z \leq 1$). This formula allows us to present rigorous calculation of the B-meson DA at the factorization scale $\sim \sqrt{m_b Λ_{\rm QCD}}$ for $t$ less than $\sim 1$ GeV^{-1}, using the recently obtained operator product expansion of the DA as the input at $μ\sim 1$ GeV. We also derive the master formula, which reexpresses the integrals of the DA at $μ\sim \sqrt{m_b Λ_{\rm QCD}}$ for the factorization formula by the compact integrals of the DA at $μ\sim 1$ GeV.

Operator product expansion for B-meson distribution amplitude and dimension-5 HQET operators

When the bilocal heavy-quark effective theory (HQET) operator for the B-meson distribution amplitude has a light-like distance t between the quark and antiquark fields, the scale \sim 1/t separates the UV and IR regions, which induce the cusp singularity in radiative corrections and the mixing of multiparticle states in nonperturbative corrections, respectively. We treat these notorious UV and IR behaviors simultaneously using the operator product expansion, with the local operators of dimension $d \le 5$ and radiative corrections at order α_s for the corresponding Wilson coefficients. The result is derived in the coordinate space, which manifests the Wilson coefficients with Sudakov-type double logarithms and the higher-dimensional operators with additional gluons. This result yields the B-meson distribution amplitude for t less than \sim 1 GeV^{-1}, in terms of $\barΛ=m_B - m_b$ and the two additional HQET parameters as matrix elements of dimension-5 operators. The impact of these novel HQET parameters on the integral relevant to exclusive B decays, λ_B, is also discussed.

B meson light-cone distribution amplitudes in the heavy-quark limit

We investigate the B meson light-cone distribution amplitudes in the heavy-quark limit which are relevant for the QCD factorization approach for the exclusive B meson decays. We derive exact relations between two- and three-particle distribution amplitudes from the QCD equations of motion and heavy-quark symmetry constraint. As solution of these relations, we give representations for the quark-antiquark distribution amplitudes in terms of independent dynamical degrees of freedom. In particular, we find that the Wandzura-Wilczek-type contributions are determined uniquely in analytic form in terms of \barΛ, a fundamental mass parameter of heavy-quark effective theory, and that both leading- and higher-twist distribution amplitudes receive the contributions of multi-particle states with additional gluons.

Target Mass Corrections to QCD Bjorken Sum Rule for Nucleon Spin Structure Functions

We discuss the possible target mass corrections in the QCD analysis of nucleon's spin-dependent structure functions measured in the polarized deep-inelastic leptoproduction. The target mass correction for the QCD Bjorken sum rule is obtained from the Nachtmann moment and its magnitude is estimated employing positivity bound as well as the experimental data for the asymmetry parameters. We also study the uncertainty due to target mass effects in determining the QCD effective coupling constant $α_s(Q^2)$ from the Bjorken sum rule. The target mass effect for the Ellis-Jaffe sum rule is also briefly discussed.
