The Lipman-Zariski conjecture in genus one higher

We prove the Lipman-Zariski conjecture for complex surface singularities with pg−g−b≤2p_g - g - b \le 2. Here pgp_g is the geometric genus, gg is the sum of the genera of the exceptional curves and bb is the first Betti number of the dual graph. This improves on a previous result of the second author. As an application, we show that a compact complex surface with locally free tangent sheaf is smooth as soon as it admits two generically linearly independent twisted vector fields and its canonical sheaf has at most two global sections.

Automorphism groups of compact complex supermanifolds

Let M\mathcal M be a compact complex supermanifold. We prove that the set Aut0ˉ(M)\mathrm{Aut}_{\bar 0}(\mathcal M) of automorphisms of M\mathcal M can be endowed with the structure of a complex Lie group acting holomorphically on M\mathcal M, so that its Lie algebra is isomorphic to the Lie algebra of even holomorphic super vector fields on M\mathcal M. Moreover, we prove the existence of a complex Lie supergroup Aut(M)\mathrm{Aut}(\mathcal M) acting holomorphically on M\mathcal M and satisfying a universal property. Its underlying Lie group is Aut0ˉ(M)\mathrm{Aut}_{\bar 0}(\mathcal M) and its Lie superalgebra is the Lie superalgebra of holomorphic super vector fields on M\mathcal M. This generalizes the classical theorem by Bochner and Montgomery that the automorphism group of a compact complex manifold is a complex Lie group. Some examples of automorphism groups of complex supermanifolds over P1(C)\mathbb P_1(\mathbb C) are provided.

Conjugacy classes of nn-tuples in semi-simple Jordan algebras

Let JJ be a finite-dimensional semi-simple Jordan algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 00. In this article, the diagonal action of the automorphism group of JJ on the nn-fold product J×…×JJ\times\ldots \times J is studied. In particular, it is shown that the orbit through an nn-tuple x=(x1,,…,xn)x=(x_1,,\ldots,x_n) is closed if and only if the Jordan subalgebra generated by the elements x1,…,xnx_1,\ldots, x_n is semi-simple.

Globalizations of infinitesimal actions on supermanifolds

Let G\mathcal G be a Lie supergroup with Lie superalgebra g\mathfrak g, M\mathcal M a supermanifold and Vec(M)\mathrm{Vec}(\mathcal M) the set of vector fields on M\mathcal M. Let λ:g→Vec(M)λ:\mathfrak g\rightarrow \mathrm{Vec}(\mathcal M) be an infinitesimal action, i.e. a homomorphism of Lie superalgebras. We show the existence of a local G\mathcal G-action on M\mathcal M inducing the infinitesimal action λλ and find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a globalization in the sense of Palais.
