Two-Photon-Exchange effect in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ at small $-t$ with the hadronic model and dispersion relation approach

In this work, the two-photon-exchange (TPE) effect in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ at small $-t$ is discussed. In the previous work, the TPE contribution with one $π$ intermediate state is estimated numerically within a hadronic model under the pion-dominance approximation. Here we extend the discussion to include one $ρ$ intermediate state. The TPE contribution can be described by one scalar function in the limit $m_e\rightarrow 0$, the dispersion relation (DR) satisfied by this scalar function is analysed. The analytic expressions for the imaginary parts of the TPE contributions from one $π$ or one $ρ$ intermediate state are given within the hadronic model. Combining these analytic expressions and the DR, the corresponding real parts of the TPE contributions can be estimated easily at any available region. This can help the further experimental analysis to include the TPE contributions in a convenient way. The numeric results show that the TPE correction with one $ρ$ intermediate state is much smaller than that with one $π$ intermediate state in the current energy region. These results suggest that the TPE contribution with an elastic state is the main TPE contribution in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ at small $-t$.

Two-Photon-Exchange effects in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ and their corrections to separated cross sections $σ_{\textrm{L,T,LT,TT}}$ at small $-t$

In this work, the two-photon-exchange (TPE) effects in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ at small $-t$ are discussed within a hadronic model. Under the pion dominance approximation the TPE contribution to the amplitude can be described by a scalar function in the limit $m_e\rightarrow 0$. The TPE contributions to the amplitude and the unpolarized differential cross section are both estimated when only the elastic intermediate state is considered. We find that the TPE corrections to the unpolarized differential cross section are about from $-4\%$ to $-20\%$ at $Q^2=1$--$ 1.6$ GeV$^2$. After considering the TPE corrections to the experimental data sets of unpolarized differential cross section, we analyze the TPE corrections to the separated cross sections $σ_{\textrm{L,T,LT,TT}}$. We find that the TPE corrections (at $Q^2=1$--$1.6$ GeV$^2$) to $σ_{\textrm{L}}$ are about from $-10\%$ to $-30\%$, to $σ_{\textrm{T}}$ are about $20\%$, and to $σ_{\textrm{LT,TT}}$ are much larger. By these analysis, we conclude that the TPE contributions in $ep\rightarrow enπ^+$ at small $-t$ are important to extract the separated cross sections $σ_{\textrm{L,T,LT,TT}}$ and the electromagnetic magnetic form factor of $π^+$ in the experimental analysis.

Electric transitions of the charmed-strange mesons in a relativistic quark model

In the present work, we adopt a relativistic constituent quark model to depict the charmed strange meson spectroscopy, in which $D_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ are considered as the $1^3P_0$ and $1P_1^\prime$ charmed strange mesons, respectively. By using the wave function obtained from the relativistic quark model, we further investigate the electric transitions between charmed strange mesons. We find the long wave length approximation is reasonable for the charmed strange meson radiative decay by comparing the results with different approximations. The estimated partial widths are all safely under the upper limits of the experimental data. Moreover, we find the branching ratio of $D_{s1}(2536) \to D_s^\ast γ/D_s γ$ are large enough to be detected, which could be searched by further experiments in Belle II and LHCb.

The $σ$ exchange effect in the Lamb shift of muonic hydrogen by two photons and two pions exchange

Based on the simple phenomenological $σππ$, $σN N$ and $ππγ$ interactions, we estimate the $σ$ exchange effect in the Lamb shift of muonic hydrogen. We at first calculate the effective couplings of $σμμ$ by two photons and two pions exchange, then calculate the corresponding corrections to the energy shift of the 2S/2P states of muonic hydrogen. We find the correction to the energy shift of 2S state is about -14$μ$eV by the current used parameters, which is about $44\%$ of the usual two photons exchange contribution, and is larger than the current experimental precision, and should be considered in the experimental analysis.

$Δ(1232)$ Resonance Contribution to Two-Photon Exchange in Electron-Proton Scattering Revisited

We revisit the question of the contributions of two-photon exchange with $Δ(1232)$ excitation to the electron-proton scattering in a hadronic model. Three improvements over the previous calculations are made, namely, correct vertex function for $γN\rightarrowΔ$, realistic $γNΔ$ form factors, and coupling constants. The discrepancy between the values of $R\equiv μ_p G_E/G_M$ extracted from Rosenbluth technique and polarization transfer method can be reasonably accounted for if the data of Andivahis {\it et al.} \cite{Andivahis94} are analyzed. However, substantial discrepancy remains if the data of Qattan {\it et al.} \cite{Qattan05} are used. For the ratio $R^\pm$ between $e^\pm p$ scatterings, our predictions appear to be in satisfactory agreement with the preliminary data from VEPP-3. The agreement between our model predictions and the recent measurements on single spin asymmetry, transverse and longitudinal recoil proton polarizations ranges from good to poor.

Could the $X(3915)$ and the $X(3930)$ Be the Same Tensor State?

By using a combined amplitude analysis of the $γγ\rightarrow D\bar{D}$ and $γγ\rightarrow J/ψω$ data, we demonstrate that the $X(3915)$, which is quoted as a $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ state in the Particle Data Group table, is favored by the data to be a $J^{PC}=2^{++}$ state appearing in both channels, which means that the $X(3915)$ and the $X(3930)$ can be regarded as the same $J^{PC}=2^{++}$ state. Meanwhile, the data also prefer a large helicity-0 contribution of this tensor resonance to the amplitudes instead of the helicity-2 dominance assumed by {\it BABAR}, which may indicate a sizable portion of non-$q\bar q$ components in this state. Identifying the $X(3915)$ with the $X(3930)$ and abandoning the helicity-2 dominance for this tensor state are helpful for the further understandings of the properties of this state and also of the mysterious "$XYZ$" charmoniumlike resonances.

Nonperturbative numerical calculation of the fine and hyperfine structure of muonic hydrogen by Breit potential including the effects from the proton size

By solving the two-body Schordinger equation in a very high precise nonperturbative numerical (NPnum) way, we reexamine the contributions of fine, hyperfine structure splittings of muonic hydrogen based on the Breit potential. The comparison of our results with those by the first order perturbative theory ($^{1st}$PT) in the literature shows, when the structure of proton is considered, the differences between the results by the $^{1st}$PT and NPnum methods are small for the fine and hyperfine splitting of $2P$ state, while are about $-0.009$ meV and $0.08$ meV for the $F=1$ and total hyperfine splitting of $2S$ state of muonic hydrogen, respectively. These differences are larger than the current experimental precision and would be significant to be considered in the theoretical calculation.

Meson exchange effects in elastic $ep$ scattering at loop level and the electromagnetic form factors of the proton

A new form of two-photon exchange(TPE) effect is studied to explain the discrepancy between unpolarized and polarized experimental data in elastic $ep$ scattering. The mechanism is based on a simple idea that apart from the usual TPE effects from box and crossed-box diagrams, the mesons may also be exchanged in elastic $ep$ scattering by two-photon coupling at loop level. The detailed study shows such contributions to reduced unpolarized cross section ($σ_{un}$) and polarized observables ($P_t,P_l$) at fixed $Q^2$ are only dependent on proton's electromagnetic form factors $G_{E,M}$ and a new unknown universal parameter $g$. After combining this contribution with the usual TPE contributions from box and crossed-box diagrams, the ratio $μ_pG_E/G_M$ extracted from the recent precise unpolarized and polarized experimental data can be described consistently.

Resonances contribution to two-photon exchange effects and possible large forward-backward asymmetry in $e^+ e^- \rightarrow p \bar{p}$

The resonances ($η_c,χ_{c0,c2}$) contribution to two-photon exchange (TPE) effects in $e^+ e^- \leftrightarrow p \bar{p}$ is calculated in a simple hadronic model. The calculation shows the TPE contributions by resonance $χ_{c2}$, which are dependent on the unknown phases $ϕ_{E,M}$ of proton's time-like form factors $G_{E,M}$, are much larger than the TPE contributions by non-resonance and are comparable with measurement precision of coming PANDA detector at $\sqrt{s} \sim M_{χ_{c2}}$ for most $ϕ_{E,M}$.

The two-pseudoscalar-meson decay of $χ_{cJ}$ with twist-3 corrections

The decays of $χ_{cJ} \to π^+π^-, K^+K^-$ $(J=0,2)$ are discussed within the standard and modified hard scattering approach when including the contributions from twist-3 distribution amplitudes and wave functions of the light pseudoscalar meson. A model for twist-2 and twist-3 distribution amplitudes and wave functions of the pion and kaon with BHL prescription are proposed as the solution to the end-point singularities. The results show that the contributions from twist-3 parts are actually not power suppressed comparing with the leading-twist contribution. After including the effects from the transverse momentum of light meson valence-quark state and Sudakov factors, the decay widths of the $χ_{cJ}$ into pions or kaons are comparable with the their experimental data.
