On generalized lacunary series

Given lacunary sequence of integers, $n_k$, $n_{k+1}/n_k>λ>1$, we define a new sequence $\{m_k\}$ formed by all possible $l$-wise sums $\pm n_{k_1}\pm n_{k_2}\pm \ldots\pm n_{k_l}$. We prove if $λ>λ_l$, then any series \begin{equation} \sum_kc_ke^{im_kx},\qquad (1) \end{equation} with $\sum_k|c_k|^2<\infty$ converges almost everywhere after any rearrangement of the terms, where $1<λ_l<2$ is a certain critical value. We establish this property, proving a new Khintchine type inequality $\|S\|_p\le C_{l,λ,p}\|S\|_2$, $p>2$, where $S$ is a finite sum of form (1). For $λ\ge 3$, we also establish a sharp rate $p^{l/2}$ for the growth of the constant $C_{l,λ,p}$ as $p\to\infty$. Such an estimate for the Rademacher chaos sums was proved independently by Bonami and Kiener. In the case of $λ\ge 3$ we also establish some inverse convergence properties of series (1): 1) if series (1) converges a.e., then $\sum_k|c_k|^2<\infty$, 2) if it a.e. converges to zero, then $c_k=0$.

On good-$λ$ inequalities for couples of measurable functions

We give a domination condition implying good-$λ$ and exponential inequalities for couples of measurable functions. Those inequalities recover several classical and new estimations involving some operators in Harminic Analysis. Among other corollaries we prove a new exponential estimate for Carleson operators. The main results of the paper are considered in a general setting, namely, on abstract measure spaces equipped with a ball-basis.

On logarithmic bounds of maximal sparse operators

Given sparse collections of measurable sets $\mathcal S_k$, $k=1,2,\ldots ,N$, in a general measure space $(X,\mathfrak M,μ)$, let $ Λ_{\mathcal S_k}$ be the sparse operator, corresponding to $\mathcal S_k$. We show that the maximal sparse function $ Λf = \max _{1\le k\le N} Λ_{\mathcal S_k} f $ satisfies \begin{align*} &\| Λ\| _{L^p(X) \mapsto L^{p,\infty}(X)} \lesssim \log N\cdot \|M_{\mathcal S}\|_{L^p(X) \mapsto L^{p,\infty}(X)},\,1\le p<\infty, \\ &\lVert Λ\rVert _{L^p(X) \mapsto L^p(X)} \lesssim (\log N)^{\max\{1,1/(p-1)\}}\cdot \|M_{\mathcal S}\|_{L^p(X) \mapsto L^p(X)},\, 1<p<\infty, \end{align*} where $M_{\mathcal S}$ is the maximal function corresponding to the collection of sets $\mathcal S=\cup_k\mathcal S_k$. As a consequence, one can derive norm bounds for maximal functions formed from taking measurable selections of one-dimensional Calderón-Zygmund operators in the plane. Prior results of this type had a fixed choice of Calderón-Zygmund operator for each direction.
