Voice Cloning: a Multi-Speaker Text-to-Speech Synthesis Approach based on Transfer Learning

Deep learning models are becoming predominant in many fields of machine learning. Text-to-Speech (TTS), the process of synthesizing artificial speech from text, is no exception. To this end, a deep neural network is usually trained using a corpus of several hours of recorded speech from a single speaker. Trying to produce the voice of a speaker other than the one learned is expensive and requires large effort since it is necessary to record a new dataset and retrain the model. This is the main reason why the TTS models are usually single speaker. The proposed approach has the goal to overcome these limitations trying to obtain a system which is able to model a multi-speaker acoustic space. This allows the generation of speech audio similar to the voice of different target speakers, even if they were not observed during the training phase.

$R_K$ and $K^+\rightarrowπ^+ν\barν with NA62 at CERN SPS

Recent results a future prospects of the NA62 experiment at CERN SPS are presented. The NA62 experiment performed the most precise measurement of the ratio $R_K$ of the $K^+\rightarrow e^\pmν$ and K^+\rightarrow μ^\pmν$ decay rates using the full data set collected in 2007. The result is in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. The ultra-rare decay $K^+\rightarrowπ^+ν\barν$ is an excellent processes to make tests of new physics at the highest scale complementary to the LHC thanks to their theoretically cleanness. The NA62 experiment at CERN SPS aims to collect of the order of 100 $K^+\rightarrowπ^+ν\barν$ events in two years of data taking, keeping the background at the level of 10%.

New physics limits from kaon decays

Searches for lepton flavour violation and lepton number violation in kaon decays by the NA62 and NA48/2 experiments at CERN are presented. A new measurement of the ratio of charged kaon leptonic decay rates $R_K=Γ(K_{e2})/Γ(K_{\mu2})$ to sub-percent relative precision is discussed. An improved upper limit on the lepton number violating $K^\pm\rightarrowπ^\mpμ^\pmμ^\pm$ decay rate is also reported. The future 10% precision measurement of the branching ratio of the ultra-rare kaon decay $K^+\rightarrowπ^+ν\barν$ with the NA62 experiment is finally reviewed.
