Normal forms for rank two linear irregular differential equations and moduli spaces

We provide a unique normal form for rank two irregular connections on the Riemann sphere. In fact, we provide a birational model where we introduce apparent singular points and where the bundlehas a fixed Birkhoff-Grothendieck decomposition. The essential poles and the apparent poles provide twoparabolic structures. The first one only depend on the formal type of the singular points. The latter one determine the connection (accessory parameters). As a consequence, an open set of the corresponding moduli space of connections is canonically identified with an open set of some Hilbert scheme of points on the explicit blow-up of some Hirzebruch surface. This generalizes to the irregular case a description dueto Oblezin, and Saito-Szabo in the logarithmic case. This approach is also very close to the work of Dubrovin-Mazzocco with the cyclic vector.

Pairs of foliations and Mattei-Moussu's theorem

We prove a reduction of singularities for pairs of foliations by blowing-up, and then investigate the analytic classification of the reduced models. Those reduced pairs of regular foliations are well understood. The case of a regular and a singular foliation is dealt with Mattei-Moussu's Theorem for which we provide a new proof, avoiding Gronwall's inequality. We end-up announcing results recently obtained by the first author in the case of a pair of reduced foliations sharing the same separatrices.

Classification of algebraic solutions of irregular Garnier systems

We prove that algebraic solutions of Garnier systems in the irregular case are of two types. The classical ones come from isomonodromic deformations of linear equations with diagonal or dihedral differential Galois group; we give a complete list in the rank N = 2 case (two indeterminates). The pull-back ones come from deformations of coverings over a fixed degenerate hypergeometric equation; we provide a complete list when the differential Galois group is SL 2 (C). By the way, we have a complete list of algebraic solutions for the rank N = 2 irregular Garnier systems.

Deformation of Rational Curves Along Foliations

Deformation of morphisms along leaves of foliations define the tangential foliation on the corresponding space of morphisms. We prove that codimension one fo-liations having a tangential foliation with at least one non-algebraic leaf are transversely homogeneous with structure group determined by the codimension of the non-algebraic leaf in its Zariski closure. As an application, we provide a structure theorem for degree three foliations on $P^3$ .

Representations of quasiprojective groups, Flat connections and Transversely projective foliations

The main purpose of this paper is to provide a structure theorem for codimension one singular transversely projective foliationson projective manifolds. To reach our goal, we firstly extend Corlette-Simpson's classification of rank two representationsof fundamental groups of quasiprojective manifolds by dropping the hypothesis of quasi-unipotency at infinity.Secondly we establish an analogue classification for rank two flat meromorphic connections. In particular, we prove that a rank two flat meromorphic connection with irregular singularities having non trivial Stokesprojectively factors through a connection over a curve.

Flat rank 2 vector bundles on genus 2 curves

We study the moduli space of trace-free irreducible rank 2 holomorphic connections over a complex projective curve of genus 2 and the forgetful map towards the moduli space of underlying vector bundles (including unstable bundles), for which we compute a natural Lagrangian rational section. As a particularity of the genus $2$ case, connections as above are invariant under the hyperelliptic involution : they descend as rank $2$ logarithmic connections over the Riemann sphere. We establish explicit links between the well-known moduli space of the underlying parabolic bundles with the classical approaches by Narasimhan-Ramanan, Tyurin and Bertram. This allow us to explain a certain number of geometric phenomena in the considered moduli spaces such as the classical $(16,6)$-configuration of the Kummer surface. We also recover a Poincaré family due to Bolognesi on a degree 2 cover of the Narasimhan-Ramanan moduli space. We explicitly compute the Hitchin integrable system on the moduli space of Higgs bundles and compare the Hitchin Hamiltonians with those found by vanGeemen-Previato. We explicitly describe the isomonodromic foliation in the moduli space of vector bundles with $\mathfrak{sl}_2({\mathbb C})$-connection over curves of genus 2 and prove the transversality of the induced flow with the locus of unstable bundles.

Introduction to moduli spaces of connections: some explicit constructions

We give some concrete examples of moduli spaces of connections. Precisely, we explain how to explicitly construct the moduli spaces of rank 2 fuchsian systems and logarithmic connections on the Riemann sphere with 4 poles. The former ones are affine cubic surfaces; the latter ones are analytically isomorphic to affine surfaces but not algebraically: they do not carry non constant regular functions. We end with some remark on arbitrary number of poles.

Isomonodromic deformation of Lamé connections, Painlevé VI equation and Okamoto symetry

A Lamé connection is a logarithmic $\mathrm{sl}(2,\mathbb C)$-connection $(E,\nabla)$ over an elliptic curve $X:\{y^2=x(x-1)(x-t)\}$, $t\not=0,1$, having a single pole at infinity. When this connection is irreducible, we show that it is invariant by the standart involution and can be pushed down as a logarithmic $\mathrm{sl}(2,\mathbb C)$-connection over $\mathbb P^1$ with poles at $0$, $1$, $t$ and $\infty$. Therefore, the isomonodromic deformation $(E_t,\nabla_t)$ of an irreducible Lamé connection, when the elliptic curve $X_t$ varry in the Legendre family, is parametrized by a solution $q(t)$ of the Painlevé VI differential equation $P_{VI}$. We compute the variation of the underlying vector bundle $E_t$ along the deformation via Tu moduli map: it is given by another solution $\tilde q(t)$ of $P_{VI}$ equation related to $q(t)$ by the Okamoto symetry $s_2 s_1 s_2$ (Noumi-Yamada notation). Motivated by the Riemann-Hilbert problem for the classical Lamé equation, the question whether Painlevé transcendents do have poles is raised.

Lagrangian fibration in duality on moduli space of rank two logarithmic connections over the projective line

We study the moduli space of logarithmic connections of rank 2 on the Riemann sphere minus n points with fixed spectral data. There are two natural Lagrangian maps: one towards apparent singularities of the associated fuchsian scalar equation, and another one towards moduli of parabolic bundles. We show that these are transversal and dual to each other. In case n=5, we recover the beautiful geometry of Del Pezzo surfaces of degree 4.

Foliations on the moduli space of rank two connections on the projective line minus four points

We look at natural foliations on the Painlevé VI moduli space of regular connections of rank 2 on $\pp ^1 -{t_1,t_2,t_3,t_4}$. These foliations are fibrations, and are interpreted in terms of the nonabelian Hodge filtration, giving a proof of the nonabelian Hodge foliation conjecture in this case. Two basic kinds of fibrations arise: from apparent singularities, and from quasiparabolic bundles. We show that these are transverse. Okamoto's additional symmetry, which may be seen as Katz's middle convolution, exchanges the quasiparabolic and apparent-singularity foliations.

Transversely projective foliations on surfaces: existence of normal forms and prescription of the monodromy

We introduce a notion of normal form for transversely projective structures of singular foliations on complex manifolds. Our first main result says that this normal form exists and is unique when ambient space is two-dimensional. From this result one obtains a natural way to produce invariants for transversely projective foliations on surfaces. Our second main result says that on projective surfaces one can construct singular transversely projective foliations with prescribed monodromy.
