Rota-Baxter operators of nilpotent evolution algebras with maximal nilindex

Nilpotent evolution algebras of maximal nilindex admit a natural basis in which the structure matrix is strictly upper triangular. In this paper we classify Rota{Baxter operators of weights zero and one on such algebras. We prove that every Rota{Baxter operator is upper triangular with respect to a natural basis. For weight zero, a strong rigidity phenomenon occurs: the operators are diagonal up to possible perturbations supported in the last basis vector. For weight one, a richer structure appears, including both triangular and non-triangular families, with the diagonal entries governed by a rational recurrence relation. Our results provide a complete description of Rota{Baxter operators on nilpotent evolution algebras of maximal nilindex.

Gibbs measures of the Ising model with mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 on a Cayley tree

In the present paper, the Ising model with mixed spin-(1,1/2) is considered on the second order Cayley tree. A construction of splitting Gibbs measures corresponding the model is given which allows to establish the existence of the phase transition (non-uniqueness of Gibbs measures). We point out that, in the phase transition region, the considered model has three translation-invariant Gibbs measures in the ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic regimes, while the classical Ising model does not possesses such Gibbs measures in the anti-ferromagnetic regime. It turns out that the considered model, like the Ising model, exhibits a disordered Gibbs measure. Therefore, non-extremity and extremity of such disordered Gibbs measures is investigated by means of tree-indexed Markov chains.

Open Quantum Random Walks and Quantum Markov chains on Trees I: Phase transitions

In the present paper, we construct QMC (Quantum Markov Chains) associated with Open Quantum Random Walks such that the transition operator of the chain is defined by OQRW and the restriction of QMC to the commutative subalgebra coincides with the distribution $P_ρ$ of OQRW. However, we are going to look at the probability distribution as a Markov field over the Cayley tree. Such kind of consideration allows us to investigated phase transition phenomena associated for OQRW within QMC scheme. Furthermore, we first propose a new construction of QMC on trees, which is an extension of QMC considered in Ref. [10]. Using such a construction, we are able to construct QMCs on tress associated with OQRW. Our investigation leads to the detection of the phase transition phenomena within the proposed scheme. This kind of phenomena appears first time in this direction. Moreover, mean entropies of QMCs are calculated.

1D Three-state mean-field Potts model with first- and second-order phase transitions

We analyze a three-state Potts model built over a lattice ring, with coupling $J_0$, and the fully connected graph, with coupling $J$. This model is effectively mean-field and can be exactly solved by using transfer-matrix method and Cardano formula. When $J$ and $J_0$ are both ferromagnetic, the model has a first-order phase transition which turns out to be a smooth modification of the known phase transition of the traditional mean-field Potts model ($J_0=0$), despite, as we prove, the connected correlation functions are now non zero, even in the paramagnetic phase. Furthermore, besides the first-order transition, there exists also a hidden continuous transition at a temperature below which the symmetric metastable state ceases to exist. When $J$ is ferromagnetic and $J_0$ antiferromagnetic, a similar antiferromagnetic counterpart phase transition scenario applies. Quite interestingly, differently from the Ising-like two-state case, for large values of the antiferromagnetic coupling $J_0$, the critical temperature of the system tends to a finite value.

Generalized Dobrushin Ergodicity Coefficient and Ergodicities of Non-homogeneous Markov Chains

In our earlier paper, a generalized Dobrushin ergodicity coefficient of Markov operators (acting on abstract state spaces) with respect to a projection $P$, has been introduced and studied. It turned out that the introduced coefficient was more effective than the usual ergodicity coefficient. In the present work, by means of a left consistent Markov projections and the generalized Dobrushin's ergodicity coefficient, we investigate uniform and weak $P$-ergodicities of non-homogeneous discrete Markov chains (NDMC) on abstract state spaces. It is easy to show that uniform $P$-ergodicity implies a weak one, but in general the reverse is not true. Therefore, some conditions are provided together with weak $P$-ergodicity of NDMC which imply its uniform $P$-ergodicity. Furthermore, necessary and sufficient conditions are found by means of the Doeblin's condition for the weak $P$-ergodicity of NDMC. The weak $P$-ergodicity is also investigated in terms of perturbations. Several perturbative results are obtained which allow us to produce nontrivial examples of uniform and weak $P$-ergodic NDMC. Moreover, some category results are also obtained. We stress that all obtained results have potential applications in the classical and non-commutative probabilities.

Generalized Dobrushin Ergodicity Coefficient and Uniform Ergodicities of Markov Operators

In this paper the stability and the perturbation bounds of Markov operators acting on abstract state spaces are investigated. Here, an abstract state space is an ordered Banach space where the norm has an additivity property on the cone of positive elements. We basically study uniform ergodic properties of Markov operators by means of so-called a generalized Dobrushin's ergodicity coefficient. This allows us to get several convergence results with rates. Some results on quasi-compactness of Markov operators are proved in terms of the ergodicity coefficient. Furthermore, a characterization of uniformly $P$-ergodic Markov operators is given which enable us to construct plenty examples of such types of operators. The uniform mean ergodicity of Markov operators is established in terms of the Dobrushin ergodicity coefficient. The obtained results are even new in the classical and quantum settings

Spectral conditions for uniform $P$-ergodicities of Markov operators on abstract states spaces

In the present paper deals with asymptotical stability of Markov operators acting on abstract state spaces (i.e. an ordered Banach space, where the norm has an additivity property on the cone of positive elements). Basically, we are interested in the rate of convergence when a Markov operator $T$ satisfies the uniform $P$-ergodicity, i.e. $\|T^n-P\|\to 0$, here $P$ is a projection. We have showed that $T$ is uniformly $P$-ergodic if and only if $\|T^n-P\|\leq Cβ^n$, $0<β<1$. In this paper, we prove that such a $β$ is characterized by the spectral radius of $T-P$. Moreover, we give Deoblin's kind of conditions for the uniform $P$-ergodicity of Markov operators.

A more general notion of weight called admissible is introduced and then an investigation is carried out on the a.e. convergence of weighted strong laws of large numbers and their applications to weighted one-sided ergodic Hilbert transforms on vector-valued $L_p$-spaces. Furthermore, the obtained results are applied to the a.e. convergence of random modulated weighted ergodic series, which is also new in the classical setting.

On Ground States and Phase Transition for $λ$-Model with the Competing Potts Interactions on Cayley Trees

In this paper, we consider the $λ$-model with nearest neighbor interactions and with competing Potts interactions on the Cayley tree of order-two. We notice that if $λ$-function is taken as a Potts interaction function, then this model contains as a particular case of Potts model with competing interactions on Cayley tree. In this paper, we first describe all ground states of the model. We point out that the Potts model with considered interactions was investigated only numerically, without rigorous (mathematical) proofs. One of the main points of this paper is to propose a measure-theoretical approach for the considered model in more general setting. Furthermore, we find certain conditions for the existence of Gibbs measures corresponding to the model, which allowed to establish the existence of the phase transition.

Phase transitions for Quantum Markov Chains associated with Ising type models on a Cayley tree

The main aim of the present paper is to prove the existence of a phase transition in quantum Markov chain (QMC) scheme for the Ising type models on a Cayley tree. Note that this kind of models do not have one-dimensional analogous, i.e. the considered model persists only on trees. In this paper, we provide a more general construction of forward QMC. In that construction, a QMC is defined as a weak limit of finite volume states with boundary conditions, i.e. QMC depends on the boundary conditions. Our main result states the existence of a phase transition for the Ising model with competing interactions on a Cayley tree of order two. By the phase transition we mean the existence of two distinct QMC which are not quasi-equivalent and their supports do not overlap. We also study some algebraic property of the disordered phase of the model, which is a new phenomena even in a classical setting.

Gibbs measures and free energies of the Ising-Vannimenus Model on the Cayley tree

In this paper, we consider Ising-Vannimenus model on a Cayley tree for order two with competing nearest-neighbor, prolonged next-nearest neighbor interactions. We stress that the mentioned model was investigated only numerically, without rigorous (mathematical) proofs. One of the main point of this paper is to propose a measure-theoretical approach the considered model. We find certain conditions for the existence of Gibbs measures corresponding to the model. Then we establish the existence of the phase transition. Moreover, the free energies of the found Gibbs measures are calculated.

On $P$-adic Ising-Vannimenus model on an arbitrary order Cayley tree

In this paper, we continue an investigation of the $p$-adic Ising-Vannimenus model on the Cayley tree of an arbitrary order $k$ $(k\geq 2$). We prove the existence of $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measures by analyzing fixed points of multi-dimensional $p$-adic system of equations. We are also able to show the uniqueness of translation-invariant $p$-adic Gibbs measure. Finally, it is established the existence of the phase transition for the Ising-Vannimenus model depending on the order $k$ of the Cayley tree and the prime $p$. Note that the methods used in the paper are not valid in the real setting, since all of them are based on $p$-adic analysis and $p$-adic probability measures.

On unconventional limit sets of contractive functions on $\mathbb Z_p$

In the present paper, we are going to study metric properties of unconventional limit set of a semigroup $G$ generated by contractive functions $\{f_{i}\}_{i=1}^N$ on the unit ball $\mathbb Z_p$ of $p$-adic numbers. Namely, we prove that the unconventional limit set is compact, perfect and uniformly disconnected. Moreover, we provide an example of two contractions for which the corresponding unconventional limiting set is quasi-symmetrically equivalent to the symbolic Cantor set.

Relative ergodic properties of C*-dynamical systems

We study various ergodic properties of C*-dynamical systems inspired by unique ergodicity. In particular we work in a framework allowing for ergodic properties defined relative to various subspaces, and in terms of weighted means. Our main results are characterizations of such relative ergodic properties, ergodic theorems resulting from these properties, and examples exhibiting these properties.

The spectral theorem for such a class of operators are given. We apply this result to partial integral equations on the space with mixed norm of measurable functions and to compact operators relative to von Neumann algebras. We will give a condition of solvability of partial integral equations with self-adjoint kernel. Moreover, a general form of compact operators relative to a type I von Neumann algebra is given.

Local derivations on subalgebras of $τ$-measurable operators with respect to semi-finite von Neumann algebras

This paper is devoted to local derivations on subalgebras on the algebra $S(M, τ)$ of all $τ$-measurable operators affiliated with a von Neumann algebra $M$ without abelian summands and with a faithful normal semi-finite trace $τ.$ We prove that if $\mathcal{A}$ is a solid $\ast$-subalgebra in $S(M, τ)$ such that $p\in \mathcal{A}$ for all projection $p\in M$ with finite trace, then every local derivation on the algebra $\mathcal{A}$ is a derivation. This result is new even in the case standard subalgebras on the algebra $B(H)$ of all bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space $H.$ We also apply our main theorem to the algebra $S_0(M, τ)$ of all $τ$-compact operators affiliated with a semi-finite von Neumann algebra $M$ and with a faithful normal semi-finite trace $τ.$

Note that our results also provide the existence of unique solutions of nonlinear functional equations as well.

Renormalization method in $p$-adic $λ$-model on the Cayley tree

In this present paper, it is proposed the renormalization techniques in the investigation of phase transition phenomena in $p$-adic statistical mechanics. We mainly study $p$-adic $ł$-model on the Cayley tree of order two. We consider generalized $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measures depending on parameter $\r\in\bq_p$, for the $ł$-model. Such measures are constructed by means of certain recurrence equations. These equations define a dynamical system. We study two regimes with respect to parameters. In the first regime we establish that the dynamical system has one attractive and two repelling fixed points, which predicts the existence of a phase transition. In the second regime the system has two attractive and one neutral fixed points, which predicts the existence of a quasi phase transition. A main point of this paper is to verify (i.e. rigorously prove) and confirm that the indicated predictions (via dynamical systems point of view) are indeed true. To establish the main result, we employ the methods of $p$-adic analysis, and therefore, our results are not valid in the real setting.

Ergodic properties of nonhomogeneous Markov chains defined on ordered Banach spaces with a base

It is known that the Dobrushin's ergodicity coefficient is one of the effective tools to study a behavior of non-homogeneous Markov chains. In the present paper, we define such an ergodicity coefficient of a positive mapping defined on ordered Banach space with a base (OBSB), and study its properties. In terms of this coefficient we prove the equivalence uniform and weak ergodicities of homogeneous Markov chains. This extends earlier results obtained in case of von Neumann algebras. Such a result allowed to establish a category theorem for uniformly ergodic Markov operators. We find necessary and sufficient conditions for the weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous discrete Markov chains (NDMC). It is also studied $L$-weak ergodicity of NDMC defined on OBSB. We establish that the chain satisfies $L$-weak ergodicity if and only if it satisfies a modified Doeblin's condition ($\frak{D}_1$-condition). Moreover, several nontrivial examples of NDMC which satisfy the $\frak{D}_1$-condition are provided.

On $ξ^{(s)}$-Quadratic Stochastic Operators on two Dimensional simplex and their behavior

A quadratic stochastic operator (in short QSO) is usually used to present the time evolution of differing species in biology. Some quadratic stochastic operators have been studied by Lotka and Volterra. The general problem in the nonlinear operator theory is to study the behavior of operators. This problem was not fully finished even for quadratic stochastic operators which are the simplest nonlinear operators. To study this problem, it was investigated several classes of QSO. In this paper, we study $ξ^{(s)}$--QSO defined on 2D simplex. We first classify $ξ^{(s)}$--QSO into 20 non-conjugate classes. Further, we investigate the dynamics of three classes of such operators.

In the present paper we study description of Kadison-Schwarz type quantum quadratic operators acting from $\bm_2(\mathbb{C})$ into $\bm_2(\mathbb{C})ø\bm_2(\mathbb{C})$. Note that such kind of operator is a generalization of quantum convolution. By means of such a description we provide an example of q.q.o. which is not a Kadision-Schwartz operator. Moreover, we study dynamics of an associated nonlinear (i.e. quadratic) operators acting on the state space of $\bm_2(\mathbb{C})$.

On pure quasi quantum quadratic operators of M_2(C)

In the present paper we study quasi quantum quadratic operators (q.q.o) acting on the algebra of $2\times 2$ matrices $M_2(C)$. It is known that a channel is called pure if it sends pure states to pure ones. In this papers, we introduce a weaker condition, called $q$-purity, than purity of the channel. To study $q$-pure channels, we concentrate ourselves to quasi q.q.o. acting on $M_2(C)$. We describe all trace-preserving quasi q.q.o. on $M_2(C)$, which allowed us to prove that if a trace-preserving symmetric quasi q.q.o. such that the corresponding quadratic operator is linear, then its $q$-purity implies its positivity. If a symmetric quasi q.q.o. has a Haar state $τ$, then its corresponding quadratic operator is nonlinear, and it is proved that such $q$-pure symmetric quasi q.q.o. cannot be positive. We think that such a result will allow to check whether a given mapping from $M_2(C)$ to $M_2(C)øM_2(C)$ is pure or not. On the other hand, our study is related to construction of pure quantum nonlinear channels. Moreover, it is also considered that nonlinear dynamics associated with quasi pure q.q.o. may have differen kind of dynamics, i.e. it may behave chaotically or trivially, respectively.

Existence of $P$-adic quasi Gibbs measure for countable state Potts model on the Cayley tree

In the present paper we provide a new construction of measure, called $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measure, for countable state of $p$-adic Potts model on the Cayley tree. Such a construction depends on a parameter $\frak{p}$ and wights. In particular case, i.e. if $\frak{p}=\exp_p$, the defined measure coincides with $p$-adic Gibbs measure. In this paper, under some condition on weights we establish the existence of $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measures associated with the model. Note that this condition does not depend on values of the prime $p$. An analogues fact is not valid when the number of spins is finite.

On unification of the strong convergence theorems for a finite family of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces

In this paper, we unify all know iterative methods by introducing a new explicit iterative scheme for approximation of common fixed points of finite families of total asymptotically $I$-nonexpansive mappings. Note that such a scheme contains as a particular case of the method introduced in [C.E. Chidume, E.U. Ofoedu, \textit{Inter. J. Math. & Math. Sci.} \textbf{2009}(2009) Article ID 615107, 17p]. We construct examples of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings which are not asymptotically nonexpansive. Note that no such kind of examples were known in the literature. We prove the strong convergence theorems for such iterative process to a common fixed point of the finite family of total asymptotically $I-$nonexpansive and total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings, defined on a nonempty closed convex subset of uniformly convex Banach spaces. Moreover, our results extend and unify all known results.

Phase transitions for $P$-adic Potts model on the Cayley tree of order three

In the present paper, we study a phase transition problem for the $q$-state $p$-adic Potts model over the Cayley tree of order three. We consider a more general notion of $p$-adic Gibbs measure which depends on parameter $ρ\in\bq_p$. Such a measure is called {\it generalized $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measure}. When $ρ$ equals to $p$-adic exponent, then it coincides with the $p$-adic Gibbs measure. When $ρ=p$, then it coincides with $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measure. Therefore, we investigate two regimes with respect to the value of $|ρ|_p$. Namely, in the first regime, one takes $ρ=\exp_p(J)$ for some $J\in\bq_p$, in the second one $|ρ|_p<1$. In each regime, we first find conditions for the existence of generalized $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measures. Furthermore, in the first regime, we establish the existence of the phase transition under some conditions. In the second regime, when $|\r|_p,|q|_p\leq p^{-2}$ we prove the existence of a quasi phase transition. It turns out that if $|\r|_p<|q-1|_p^2<1$ and $\sqrt{-3}\in\bq_p$, then one finds the existence of the strong phase transition.

$G-$Decompositions of Matrices and Related Problems I

Main result of the paper is that a symmetric matrix $A_m$ has a $G-$decomposition in the class of stochastic (resp. substochastic) matrices if and only if $A_m$ belongs to the set ${\mathbf{U}}^m$ (resp. ${\mathbf{U}}_m$). To prove the main result, we study extremal points and geometrical structures of the sets ${\mathbf{U}}^m$, ${\mathbf{U}}_m$. Note that such kind of investigations enables to study Birkhoff's problem for quadratic $G-$doubly stochastic operators.

On phase transition for one dimensional countable state $P$-adic Potts model

In the present paper we shall consider countable state $p$-adic Potts model on $Z_+$. A main aim is to establish the existence of the phase transition for the model. In our study, we essentially use one dimensionality of the model. To show it we reduce the problem, to the investigation of an infinite-dimensional nonlinear equation. We find a condition on weights to show that the derived equation has two solutions, which yields the existence of the phase transition. We prove that measures corresponding to first and second solutions are a $p$-adic Gibbs and generalized $p$-adic Gibbs measures, respectively. Note that it turns out that the finding condition does not depend on values of the prime $p$, and therefore, an analogous fact is not true when the number of spins is finite. Note that, in the usual real case, if one considers one dimensional translation-invariant model with nearest neighbor interaction, then such a model does not exhibit a phase transition. Nevertheless, we should stress that in our model there does not occur the strong phase transition, this means that there is only one $p$-adic Gibbs measure. Here we may see some similarity with the real case. Besides, we prove that the $p$-adic Gibbs measure is bounded, and the generalized one is not bounded.

On dynamical systems and phase transitions for $Q+1$-state $P$-adic Potts model on the Cayley tree

In the present paper, we introduce a new kind of $p$-adic measures for $q+1$-state Potts model, called {\it $p$-adic quasi Gibbs measure}. For such a model, we derive a recursive relations with respect to boundary conditions. Note that we consider two mode of interactions: ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic. In both cases, we investigate a phase transition phenomena from the associated dynamical system point of view. Namely, using the derived recursive relations we define one dimensional fractional $p$-adic dynamical system. In ferromagnetic case, we establish that if $q$ is divisible by $p$, then such a dynamical system has two repelling and one attractive fixed points. We find basin of attraction of the fixed point. This allows us to describe all solutions of the nonlinear recursive equations. Moreover, in that case there exists the strong phase transition. If $q$ is not divisible by $p$, then the fixed points are neutral, and this yields that the existence of the quasi phase transition. In antiferromagnetic case, there are two attractive fixed points, and we find basins of attraction of both fixed points, and describe solutions of the nonlinear recursive equation. In this case, we prove the existence of a quasi phase transition.

Ergodic properties of Bogoliubov automorphisms in free probability

We show that some $C^*$--dynamical systems obtained by "quantizing" classical ones on the free Fock space, enjoy very strong ergodic properties. Namely, if the classical dynamical system $(X, T, \m)$ is ergodic but not weakly mixing, then the resulting quantized system $(\gg,\a)$ is uniquely ergodic (w.r.t the fixed point algebra) but not uniquely weak mixing. The same happens if we quantize a classical system $(X, T, \m)$ which is weakly mixing but not mixing. In this case, the quantized system is uniquely weak mixing but not uniquely mixing. Finally, a quantized system arising from a classical mixing dynamical system, will be uniquely mixing. In such a way, it is possible to exhibit uniquely weak mixing and uniquely mixing $C^*$--dynamical systems whose GNS representation associated to the unique invariant state generates a von Neuman factor of one of the following types: $I_{\infty}$, $II_{1}$, $III_ł$ where $ł\in(0,1]$. It is established that for $p$-adic Potts model at $k\geq 3$ a phase transition may occur only at $q\in p\mathbb{N}$ if $p\geq 3$ and $q\in 2^2\mathbb{N}$ if $p=2$.

On Inhomogeneous $p$-Adic Potts Model on a Cayley Tree

We consider a nearest-neighbor inhomogeneous $p$-adic Potts (with $q\geq 2$ spin values) model on the Cayley tree of order $k\geq 1$. The inhomogeneity means that the interaction $J_{xy}$ couplings depend on nearest-neighbors points $x, y $ of the Cayley tree. We study ($p-$ adic) Gibbs measures of the model. We show that (i) if $q\notin p\mathbb{N}$ then there is unique Gibbs measure for any $k\geq 1$ and $\forall J_{xy}$ with $|J_{xy}|<p^{-1/(p-1)}$. (ii) For $q\in p\mathbb{N}, p\geq 3$ one can choose $J_{xy}$ and $k\geq 1$ such that there exist at least two Gibbs measures which are translation-invariant.

On Uniqueness of Gibbs Measures for $P$-Adic Nonhomogeneous $ł$-Model on the Cayley Tree

We consider a nearest-neighbor $p$-adic $ł$-model with spin values $\pm 1$ on a Cayley tree of order $k\geq 1$. We prove for the model there is no phase transition and as well as the unique $p$-adic Gibbs measure is bounded if and only if $p\geq 3$. If $p=2$ then we find a condition which guarantees nonexistence of a phase transition. Besides, the results are applied to the $p$-adic Ising model and we show that for the model there is a unique $p$-adic Gibbs measure.
