Blume-Capel model on cylindrical Ising nanowire with core/shell structure: Existence of a dynamic compensation temperatures

We present a study, within a mean-field approach, of the kinetics of the spin-1 Blume-Capel model on cylindrical Ising nanowire in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamical equations. We investigate the thermal behavior of the dynamic order parameters. From these studies, we obtain the dynamic phase transition (DPT) points. Then, we study the temperature dependence of the dynamic total magnetization to find the dynamic compensation points as well as to determine the type of behavior. We also investigate the effect of a crystal-field interaction and the exchange couplings between the nearest-neighbor pairs of spins on the compensation phenomenon and construct the phase diagrams in four different planes. The dynamic phase diagrams contain paramagnetic (P), ferromagnetic (F), the antiferromagnetic (AF), and two coexistence or mixed phase regions, namely, the F + P and AF + P that strongly depend on interaction parameters. The system also exhibits the compensation temperatures, or the N-, P-, Q-, S- type behaviors. Furthermore, we also observed two compensation temperatures, namely W-type behaviors, which this result is compared with some experimental works and a good overall agreement is found.

Cylindrical Ising Nanowire in an Oscillating Magnetic Field and Dynamic Compensation Temperature

The magnetic properties of a nonequilibrium spin-1/2 cylindrical Ising nanowire system with core/shell in an oscillating magnetic field are studied by using a mean-field approach based on the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics (DMFT). We employ the Glaubertype stochastic dynamics to construct set of the coupled mean-field dynamic equations. First, we study the temperature dependence of the dynamic order parameters to characterize the nature of the phase transitions and to obtain the dynamic phase transition points. Then, we investigate the temperature dependence of the total magnetization to find the dynamic compensation points as well as to determine the type of behavior. The phase diagrams in which contain the paramagnetic, ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic, nonmagnetic, surface fundamental phases and tree mixed phases as well as reentrant behavior are presented in the reduced magnetic field amplitude and reduced temperature plane. According to values of Hamiltonian parameters, the compensation temperatures, or the N-, Q-, P-, R-, S-type behaviors in the Neel classification nomenclature exist in the system.

Hexagonal type Ising nanowire with spin-1 core and spin-2 shell structure

}Thermodynamic properties and phase diagrams of a mixed spin-(1, 2) Ising ferrimagnetic system with single ion anisotropy on hexagonal nanowire are studied by using effective-field theory with correlations. The susceptibility, internal energy and specific heat of the system are numerically examined and some interesting phenomena in these quantities are found. The effect of the Hamiltonian parameters on phase diagrams are examined in detail. Besides second-order phase transition, lines of first-order transition and tricritical points are found. In particular, we found that for some negative values of single-ion anisotropies, there exist first-order phase transitions.

Hierarchical structure of the countries based on electricity consumption and economic growth

We investigate the hierarchical structures of countries based on electricity consumption and economic growth by using the real amounts of their consumption over a certain time period. We use of electricity consumption data to detect the topological properties of 60 countries from 1971 to 2008. These countries are divided into three subgroups: low income group, middle income group and high income group countries. Firstly, a relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth is investigated by using the concept of hierarchical structure methods (minimal spanning tree (MST) and hierarchical tree (HT)). Secondly, we perform bootstrap techniques to investigate a value of the statistical reliability to the links of the MST. Finally, we use a clustering linkage procedure in order to observe the cluster structure more clearly. The results of the structural topologies of these trees are as follows: i) we identified different clusters of countries according to their geographical location and economic growth, ii) we found a strong relation between energy consumption and economic growth for all the income groups considered in this study and iii) the results are in good agreement with the causal relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth.

Hierarchical structure of the European countries based on debts as a percentage of GDP during the 2000-2011 period

We investigate hierarchical structures of the European countries by using debt as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the countries as they change over a certain period of time. We obtain the topological properties among the countries based on debt as a percentage of GDP of European countries over the period 2000-2011 by using the concept of hierarchical structure methods (minimal spanning tree, (MST) and hierarchical tree, (HT)). This period is also divided into two sub-periods related to 2004 enlargement of the European Union, namely 2000-2004 and 2005-2011, in order to test various time-window and observe the temporal evolution. The bootstrap techniques is applied to see a value of statistical reliability of the links of the MSTs and HTs. The clustering linkage procedure is also used to observe the cluster structure more clearly. From the structural topologies of these trees, we identify different clusters of countries according to their level of debts and economic ties. Our results show that by the debt crisis, the less and most affected Eurozones economies are formed as a cluster with each other in the MSTs and hierarchical trees.

Hierarchical Structure of the Foreign Trade: The Case of the United State

This study uses hierarchical structure methods (minimal spanning tree, (MST) and hierarchical tree, (HT)) to examine the hierarchical structures of the United State (US) foreign trade by using the real prices of their commodity export and import move together over time. We obtain the topological properties among the countries based on US foreign trade over the periods of 1985-2011. We also perform the bootstrap techniques to investigate a value of the statistical reliability to the links of the MSTs. Finally, we use a clustering linkage procedure in order to observe the cluster structure much better. The results of the topologies structural of these trees are as follows: i) We identified different clusters of countries according to their geographical location and economic growth. ii) Our results show that the European Union and Asian countries are more important within the network, due to a tighter connection with other countries. The country's most important trading partners are the Canada, China, Mexico, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, South Korea, France, Taiwan, India, Singapore and Netherlands iii) We have also found that these countries play a significance role for US foreign trade and have important implications for the design of portfolio and investment strategies.

Hysteresis and compensation behaviors of spin-1 hexagonal Ising nanowire

An effective-field theory with correlations has been used to study the hysteresis, susceptibility and compensation behaviors of the spin-1 hexagonal Ising nanowire (HIN) with core-shell structure. The effects of the temperature, crystal field, core-shell interfacial coupling and shell surface coupling are investigated on hysteresis and compensation behaviors, in detail. When the core-shell interfacial coupling is weak, the double and triple hysteresis loops can be seen in the system. The hysteresis loops have different coercive field points that the susceptibility make peak at these points. Moreover, we observed that the system displays the Q-, R-, S-, P-, N- and W-types of compensation behaviors according to Neél classification nomenclature. Finally, the obtaining results are compared with some experimental and theoretical results and found a good agreement.

Mixed spin (1/2-1) hexagonal Ising nanowire: some dynamic behaviors

The dynamic behaviors of a mixed spin (1/2-1) hexagonal Ising nanowire (HIN) with core-shell structure in the presence of a time dependent magnetic field are investigated by using the effective-field theory with correlations based on the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics (DEFT). According to the values of interaction parameters, temperature dependence of the dynamic magnetizations, the hysteresis loop areas and the dynamic correlations are investigated to characterize the nature (first- or second-order) of the dynamic phase transitions (DPTs). Dynamic phase diagrams, including compensation points, are also obtained. Moreover, from the thermal variations of the dynamic total magnetization, the five compensation types can be found under certain conditions, namely the Q-, R-, S-, P-, and N-types.

Thermodynamic and magnetic properties of the hexagonal type Ising nanowire

The thermodynamic and magnetic properties of the mixed spin (1/2-1) hexagonal Ising nanowire (HIN) system with core-shell structure have been presented by means of the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlations. The effects of the physical parameters of the system on thermodynmaic and magnetic properties (magnetizations, susceptibilities, internal energies, and free energies and hysteresis curves) are investigated for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic case, in detail. One can find that when the temperature increases the hysteresis loop areas decrease and the hysteresis loops disappear at above critical temperature. Moreover, different hysteresis loop behaviors have been observed such as single, double and triple hysteresis loops in the system. In order to confirm the accuracy of the phase transition points, we also investigate the free energy of the system.

An effective-field theory study of hexagonal Ising nanowire: Thermal and magnetic properties

By means of the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlations, the thermodynamic and magnetic quantities such as magnetization, susceptibility, internal energy, free energy, hysteresis curves and compensation behaviors of the spin-1/2 hexagonal Ising nanowire (HIN) system with core/shell structure have been presented. The hysteresis curves are obtained for different values of the system parameters on both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic case. It has been shown that the system only undergoes a second-order phase transition. Moreover, from the thermal variations of the total magnetization, the five compensation types can be found under certain conditions, namely the Q-, R-, S-, P-, and N-types.

Phase diagrams of a cylindrical spin-1 ising nanowire within the presence of the crystal field and the transverse field

Within the framework of the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlations, the phase diagrams of a cylindrical spin-1 Ising nanowire is investigated, depending on the ratio of the Hamiltonian parameters. We discuss in detail the influence of interfacial coupling, crystal field and transfer field ratio on the phase diagrams, and some characteristic phenomena have been found such as tricritical point and first-order transitions.
