On graviton propagation in curved space-time background

Equation describing propagation of gravitational waves (GW) over arbitrary curved space-time background is analyzed. New terms, which are absent in the conventional homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann cosmology, are found. Some examples of realistic metric, where these new terms manifest themselves, are presented. Possible implications to very low frequency GW are briefly discussed.

Rates of particle production in $R^2$ gravity and supersymmetry-kind dark matter

Universe heating in $R^2$-modified gravity is considered. The rates of particle production by the scalaron are calculated for different decay channels. Freezing of massive stable relics with the interaction strength typical for supersymmetry is studied. It is shown that the bounds on masses of supersymmetry-kind particles allowing them to form the cosmological dark matter (DM)depend upon the dominant decay mode of the scalaron. In any case the results presented open much wider mass window for DM with the interaction strength typical for supersymmetry.

Superheavy dark matter in $R^2$-cosmology

The conventional Friedmann cosmology is known to be in tension with the existence of stable particles having interaction strength typical for supersymmetry and heavier than several TeV. A possible way to save life of such particles may be a modification of the standard cosmological expansion law in such a way that the density of these heavy relics would be significantly reduced. We study particle creation in the Starobinsky inflationary model for different decay channels of the scalaron. It is shown that in the process of thermalization superheavy stable particles with the coupling strength typical for the GUT SUSY could be created with the density equal to the observed density of dark matter.

General properties and kinetics of spontaneous baryogenesis

General features of spontaneous baryogenesis are studied. The relation between the time derivative of the (pseudo)goldstone field and the baryonic chemical potential is revisited. It is shown that this relation essentially depends upon the representation chosen for the fermionic fields with non-zero baryonic number (quarks). The calculations of the cosmological baryon asymmetry are based on the kinetic equation generalized to the case of non-stationary background. The effects of the finite interval of the integration over time are also included into consideration. All these effects combined lead to a noticeable deviation of the magnitude of the baryon asymmetry from the canonical results.

Jeans Instability in Classical and Modified Gravity

Gravitational instability in classical Jeans theory, General Relativity, and modified gravity is considered. The background density increase leads to a faster growth of perturbations in comparison with the standard theory. The transition to the Newtonian gauge in the case of coordinate dependent background metric functions is studied. For modified gravity a new high frequency stable solution is found.

Particle Production in f(R) Gravity during Structure Formation

We study particle production in infrared-modified gravitational theories in the contemporary universe. It is shown that in astronomical systems with rising mass density, the curvature scalar may oscillate with very high frequency. These oscillations lead to efficient particle production and in an interesting range of model parameters could be a source of energetic cosmic rays. This effect either excludes some models of modified gravity or suggests a new mechanism of cosmic ray production.

Spherically Symmetric Solutions in F(R) Gravity and Gravitational Repulsion

Spherically symmetric solutions in F(R) theories in astronomical systems with rising energy density are studied. The range of parameters is established for which the flat space-time approximation for the background metric is valid. For the solutions in which the curvature scalar oscillates with large amplitude and high frequency, found in our previous papers, it is shown that the analysis of the Jeans instability is strongly modified. It is discovered that for large astronomical objects modified gravity can be repulsive, so such objects shrink forming relatively thin shells instead of quasi uniform bodies. This may explain the formation of cosmic voids.

Cosmological evolution in R^2 gravity

The Universe evolution during the radiation-dominated epoch in the R^2-extended gravity theory is considered. The equations of motion for R and H are solved analytically and numerically. The particle production rate by the oscillating curvature is calculated in one-loop approximation and the back reaction of particle production on the evolution of R is taken into account. Possible implications of the model for cosmological creation of non-thermal dark matter is discussed.

Modified gravity. Problems and observational manifestations

Some models of modified gravity and their observational manifestations are considered. It is shown, that gravitating systems with mass density rising with time evolve to a singular state with infinite curvature scalar. The universe evolution during the radiation dominated epoch is studied in $R^2$-extended gravity theory. Particle production rate by the oscillating curvature is calculated. Possible implications of the model for cosmological creation of non-thermal dark matter are discussed.

Explosive phenomena in modified gravity

Observational manifestations of some models of modified gravity, which have been suggested to explain the accelerated cosmological expansion, are analyzed for gravitating systems with time dependent mass density. It is shown that if the mass density rises with time, the system evolves to the singular state with infinite curvature scalar. The corresponding characteristic time is typically much shorter than the cosmological time.

Pure quantum states of a neutrino with rotating spin in dense magnetized matter

The problem of neutrino spin rotation in dense matter and in strong electromagnetic fields is solved in accordance with the basic principles of quantum mechanics. We obtain a complete system of wave functions for a massive Dirac neutrino with an anomalous magnetic moment which are the eigenfunctions of the kinetic momentum operator and have the form of nonspreading wave packets. These wave functions enable one to consider the states of neutrino with rotating spin as pure quantum states and can be used for calculating probabilities of various processes with the neutrino in the framework of the Furry picture.
