A property in vector-valued function spaces

This paper deals with a property which is equivalent to generalised-lushness for separable spaces. It thus may be seemed as a geometrical property of a Banach space which ensures the space to have the Mazur-Ulam property. We prove that if a Banach space $X$ enjoys this property if and only if $C(K,X)$ enjoys this property. We also show the same result holds for $L_\infty(μ,X)$ and $L_1(μ,X)$.

Mappings of preserving $n$-distance one in $n$-normed spaces

We give a positive answer to the Aleksandrov problem in $n$-normed spaces under the surjectivity assumption. Namely, we show that every surjective mapping preserving $n$-distance one is affine, and thus is an $n$-isometry. This is the first time to solve the Aleksandrov problem in $n$-normed spaces with only surjective assumption even in the usual case $n=2$. Finally, when the target space is $n$-strictly convex, we prove that every mapping preserving two $n$-distances with an integer ratio is an affine $n$-isometry.

A Note on The Mazur-Ulam Property of Almost-CL-spaces

We introduce the (T)-property, and prove that every Banach space with the (T)-property has the Mazur-Ulam property (briefly MUP). As its immediate applications, we obtain that almost-CL-spaces admitting a smooth point(specially, separable almost-CL-spaces) and a two-dimensional space whose unit sphere is a hexagon has the MUP. Furthermore, we discuss the stability of the spaces having the MUP by the $c_0$- and $\ell_1$-sums, and show that the space $C(K,X)$ of the vector-valued continuous functions has the the MUP, where $X$ is a separable almost-CL-space and $K$ is a compact metric space.

Generalized-Lush Spaces and the Mazur-Ulam Property

We introduce a new class of Banach spaces, called generalized-lush spaces (GL-spaces for short), which contains almost-CL-spaces, separable lush spaces (specially, separable $C$-rich subspaces of $C(K)$), and even the two-dimensional space with hexagonal norm. We obtain that the space $C(K,E)$ of the vector-valued continuous functions is a GL-space whenever $E$ is, and show that the GL-space is stable under $c_0$-, $l_1$- and $l_\infty$-sums. As an application, we prove that the Mazur-Ulam property holds for a larger class of Banach spaces, called local-GL-spaces, including all lush spaces and GL-spaces. Furthermore, we generalize the stability properties of GL-spaces to local-GL-spaces. From this, we can obtain many examples of Banach spaces having the Mazur-Ulam property.

On the numerical radius of Lipschitz operators in Banach spaces

We study the numerical radius of Lipschitz operators on Banach spaces via the Lipschitz numerical index, which is an analogue of the numerical index in Banach space theory. We give a characterization of the numerical radius and obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for Banach spaces to have Lipschitz numerical index 1. As an application, we show that real lush spaces and $C$-rich subspaces have Lipschitz numerical index 1. Moreover, using the G$\hat{a}$teaux differentiability of Lipschitz operators, we characterize the Lipschitz numerical index of separable Banach spaces with the RNP. Finally, we prove that the Lipschitz numerical index has the stability properties for the $c_0$-, $l_1$-, and $l_\infty$-sums of spaces and vector-valued function spaces. From this, we show that the $C(K)$ spaces, $L_1(μ)$-spaces and $L_\infty(ν)$ spaces have Lipschitz numerical index 1.
