Relationship between the Mandelbrot Algorithm and the Platonic Solids

This paper focuses on the dynamics of the eight tridimensional principal slices of the tricomplex Mandelbrot set: the Tetrabrot, the Arrowheadbrot, the Mousebrot, the Turtlebrot, the Hourglassbrot, the Metabrot, the Airbrot (octahedron) and the Firebrot (tetrahedron). In particular, we establish a geometrical classification of these 3D slices using the properties of some specific sets that correspond to projections of the bicomplex Mandelbrot set on various two-dimensional vector subspaces, and we prove that the Firebrot is a regular tetrahedron. Finally, we construct the so-called "Stella octangula" as a tricomplex dynamical system composed of the union of the Firebrot and its dual, and after defining the idempotent 3D slices of $\mathcal{M}_{3}$, we show that one of them corresponds to a third Platonic solid: the cube.

A Study of Dynamics of the Tricomplex Polynomial $η^p+c$

In this article, we give the exact interval of the cross section of the so called Mandelbric set generated by the polynomial $z^3+c$ where $z$ and $c$ are complex numbers. Following that result, we show that the Mandelbric defined on the hyperbolic numbers $\mathbb{D}$ is a square with its center at the origin. Moreover, we define the Multibrot sets generated by a polynomial of the form $Q_{p,c}(η)=η^p+c$ ($p \in \mathbb{N}$ and $p \geq 2$) for tricomplex numbers. More precisely, we prove that the tricomplex Mandelbric has four principal slices instead of eight principal 3D slices that arise for the case of the tricomplex Mandelbrot set. Finally, we prove that one of these four slices is an octahedron.

Characterization of the Principal 3D Slices Related to the Multicomplex Mandelbrot Set

This article focuses on the dynamics of the different tridimensional principal slices of the multicomplex Multibrot sets. First, we define an equivalence relation between those slices. Then, we characterize them in order to establish similarities between their behaviors. Finally, we see that any multicomplex tridimensional principal slice is equivalent to a tricomplex slice up to an affine transformation. This implies that, in the context of tridimensional principal slices, Multibrot sets do not need to be generalized beyond the tricomplex space.

Infinite-Dimensional Bicomplex Hilbert Spaces

This paper begins the study of infinite-dimensional modules defined on bicomplex numbers. It generalizes a number of results obtained with finite-dimensional bicomplex modules. The central concept introduced is the one of a bicomplex Hilbert space. Properties of such spaces are obtained through properties of several of their subsets which have the structure of genuine Hilbert spaces. In particular, we derive the Riesz representation theorem for bicomplex continuous linear functionals and a general version of the bicomplex Schwarz inequality. Applications to concepts relevant to quantum mechanics, specifically the bicomplex analogue of the quantum harmonic oscillator, are pointed out.

The Bicomplex Quantum Harmonic Oscillator

The problem of the quantum harmonic oscillator is investigated in the framework of bicomplex numbers, which are pairs of complex numbers making up a commutative ring with zero divisors. Starting with the commutator of the bicomplex position and momentum operators, and adapting the algebraic treatment of the standard quantum harmonic oscillator, we find eigenvalues and eigenkets of the bicomplex harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian. We construct an infinite-dimensional bicomplex module from these eigenkets. Turning next to the differential equation approach, we obtain coordinate-basis eigenfunctions of the bicomplex harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian in terms of hyperbolic Hermite polynomials.

Bicomplex quantum mechanics: I. The generalized Schrödinger equation

We introduce the set of bicomplex numbers $\mathbb{T}$ which is a commutative ring with zero divisors defined by $\mathbb{T}=\{w_0+w_1 \bold{i_1}+w_2\bold{i_2}+w_3 \bold{j}| w_0,w_1,w_2,w_3 \in \mathbb{R}\}$ where $\bold{i^{\text 2}_1}=-1, \bold{i^{\text 2}_2}=-1, \bold{j}^2=1,\ \bold{i_1}\bold{i_2}=\bold{j}=\bold{i_2}\bold{i_1}$. We present the conjugates and the moduli associated with the bicomplex numbers. Then we study the bicomplex Schrödinger equation and found the continuity equations. The discrete symmetries of the system of equations describing the bicomplex Schrödinger equation are obtained. Finally, we study the bicomplex Born formulas under the discrete symetries. We obtain the standard Born's formula for the class of bicomplex wave functions having a null hyperbolic angle.

On the Klein-Gordon equation and hyperbolic pseudoanalytic function theory

Elliptic pseudoanalytic function theory was considered independently by Bers and Vekua decades ago. In this paper we develop a hyperbolic analogue of pseudoanalytic function theory using the algebra of hyperbolic numbers. We consider the Klein-Gordon equation with a potential. With the aid of one particular solution we factorize the Klein-Gordon operator in terms of two Vekua-type operators. We show that real parts of the solutions of one of these Vekua-type operators are solutions of the considered Klein-Gordon equation. Using hyperbolic pseudoanalytic function theory, we then obtain explicit construction of infinite systems of solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with potential. Finally, we give some examples of application of the proposed procedure.

Bicomplex Quantum Mechanics: II. The Hilbert Space

Using the bicomplex numbers $\mathbb{T}$ which is a commutative ring with zero divisors defined by $\mathbb{T}=\{w_0 + w_1 i_1 + w_2 i_2 + w_3 j | w_0, w_1, w_2, w_3 \in \mathbb{R}\}$ where $i_{1}^{2} = -1, i_{2}^{2} = -1, j^2 = 1, i_1 i_2 = j = i_2 i_1$, we construct hyperbolic and bicomplex Hilbert spaces. Linear functionals and dual spaces are considered and properties of linear operators are obtained; in particular it is established that the eigenvalues of a bicomplex self-adjoint operator are in the set of hyperbolic numbers.
