CITS: Coherent Ising Tree Search Algorithm Towards Solving Combinatorial Optimization Problems

Simulated annealing (SA) attracts more attention among classical heuristic algorithms because the solution of the combinatorial optimization problem can be naturally mapped to the ground state of the Ising Hamiltonian. However, in practical implementation, the annealing process cannot be arbitrarily slow and hence, it may deviate from the expected stationary Boltzmann distribution and become trapped in a local energy minimum. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a heuristic search algorithm by expanding search space from a Markov chain to a recursive depth limited tree based on SA, where the parent and child nodes represent the current and future spin states. At each iteration, the algorithm will select the best near-optimal solution within the feasible search space by exploring along the tree in the sense of `look ahead'. Furthermore, motivated by coherent Ising machine (CIM), we relax the discrete representation of spin states to continuous representation with a regularization term and utilize the reduced dynamics of the oscillators to explore the surrounding neighborhood of the selected tree nodes. We tested our algorithm on a representative NP-hard problem (MAX-CUT) to illustrate the effectiveness of this algorithm compared to semi-definite programming (SDP), SA, and simulated CIM. Our results show that above the primal heuristics SA and CIM, our high-level tree search strategy is able to provide solutions within fewer epochs for Ising formulated NP-optimization problems.

Secure Communication Protocol for Smart Transportation Based on Vehicular Cloud

The pioneering concept of connected vehicles has transformed the way of thinking for researchers and entrepreneurs by collecting relevant data from nearby objects. However, this data is useful for a specific vehicle only. Moreover, vehicles get a high amount of data (e.g., traffic, safety, and multimedia infotainment) on the road. Thus, vehicles expect adequate storage devices for this data, but it is infeasible to have a large memory in each vehicle. Hence, the vehicular cloud computing (VCC) framework came into the picture to provide a storage facility by connecting a road-side-unit (RSU) with the vehicular cloud (VC). In this, data should be saved in an encrypted form to preserve security, but there is a challenge to search for information over encrypted data. Next, we understand that many of vehicular communication schemes are inefficient for data transmissions due to its poor performance results and vulnerable to different fundamental security attacks. Accordingly, on-device performance is critical, but data damages and secure on-time connectivity are also significant challenges in a public environment. Therefore, we propose reliable data transmission protocols for cutting-edge architecture to search data from the storage, to resist against various security attacks, and provide better performance results. Thus, the proposed data transmission protocol is useful in diverse smart city applications (business, safety, and entertainment) for the benefits of society.

Improvised Broadcast Algorithm for Wireless Networks

Broadcasting problem is an important issue in the wireless networks, especially in dynamic wireless networks. In dynamic wireless networks the node density and mobility is high, due to several problems which arise during broadcasting. Two major problems faced are namely, Broadcast Storm Problem and Disconnected network problem. In a highly dense network, if information is being flooded in a loop, it could lead to broadcast storm. The broadcast storm may eventually crash the entire network and lead to loss of information. Mobility of the nodes may lead to the problem of Disconnected Network. If the two nodes sending and receiving information are mobile with different speeds, it could lead to a disconnection between them as soon as the receiver moves out of the communication range. In this paper, we are trying to solve both the problems based on our proposed algorithms.

Improvised Apriori Algorithm using frequent pattern tree for real time applications in data mining

Apriori Algorithm is one of the most important algorithm which is used to extract frequent itemsets from large database and get the association rule for discovering the knowledge. It basically requires two important things: minimum support and minimum confidence. First, we check whether the items are greater than or equal to the minimum support and we find the frequent itemsets respectively. Secondly, the minimum confidence constraint is used to form association rules. Based on this algorithm, this paper indicates the limitation of the original Apriori algorithm of wasting time and space for scanning the whole database searching on the frequent itemsets, and present an improvement on Apriori.

Programmable Cellular Automata Based Efficient Parallel AES Encryption Algorithm

Cellular Automata(CA) is a discrete computing model which provides simple, flexible and efficient platform for simulating complicated systems and performing complex computation based on the neighborhoods information. CA consists of two components 1) a set of cells and 2) a set of rules . Programmable Cellular Automata(PCA) employs some control signals on a Cellular Automata(CA) structure. Programmable Cellular Automata were successfully applied for simulation of biological systems, physical systems and recently to design parallel and distributed algorithms for solving task density and synchronization problems. In this paper PCA is applied to develop cryptography algorithms. This paper deals with the cryptography for a parallel AES encryption algorithm based on programmable cellular automata. This proposed algorithm based on symmetric key systems.

A Parallel Encryption Algorithm for Block Ciphers Based on Reversible Programmable Cellular Automata

A Cellular Automata (CA) is a computing model of complex System using simple rule. In CA the problem space into number of cell and each cell can be one or several final state. Cells are affected by neighbours' to the simple rule. Cellular Automata are highly parallel and discrete dynamical systems, whose behaviour is completely specified in terms of a local relation. This paper deals with the Cellular Automata (CA) in cryptography for a class of Block Ciphers through a new block encryption algorithm based on Reversible Programmable Cellular Automata Theory. The proposed algorithm belongs to the class of symmetric key systems.
