Isomorphisms among quantum Grothendieck rings and propagation of positivity

Let ($\mathfrak{g},\mathsf{g})$ be a pair of complex finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras whose Dynkin diagrams are related by (un)folding, with $\mathsf{g}$ being of simply-laced type. We construct a collection of ring isomorphisms between the quantum Grothendieck rings of monoidal categories $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ and $\mathscr{C}_{\mathsf{g}}$ of finite-dimensional representations over the quantum loop algebras of $\mathfrak{g}$ and $\mathsf{g}$ respectively. As a consequence, we solve long-standing problems : the positivity of the analogs of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials and the positivity of the structure constants of the quantum Grothendieck rings for any non-simply-laced $\mathfrak{g}$. In addition, comparing our isomorphisms with the categorical relations arising from the generalized quantum affine Schur-Weyl dualities, we prove the analog of Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture (formulated in [H., Adv. Math., 2004]) for simple modules in remarkable monoidal subcategories of $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ for any non-simply-laced $\mathfrak{g}$, and for any simple finite-dimensional modules in $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ for $\mathfrak{g}$ of type $\mathrm{B}_n$. In the course of the proof we obtain and combine several new ingredients. In particular we establish a quantum analog of $T$-systems, and also we generalize the isomorphisms of [H.-Leclerc, J. Reine Angew. Math., 2015] and [H.-O., Adv. Math., 2019] to all $\mathfrak{g}$ in a unified way, that is isomorphisms between subalgebras of the quantum group of $\mathsf{g}$ and subalgebras of the quantum Grothendieck ring of $\mathscr{C}_\mathfrak{g}$.

Spectra of quantum KdV Hamiltonians, Langlands duality, and affine opers

We prove a system of relations in the Grothendieck ring of the category O of representations of the Borel subalgebra of an untwisted quantum affine algebra U_q(g^) introduced in [HJ]. This system was discovered in [MRV1, MRV2], where it was shown that solutions of this system can be attached to certain affine opers for the Langlands dual affine Kac-Moody algebra of g^, introduced in [FF5]. Together with the results of [BLZ3, BHK], which enable one to associate quantum g^-KdV Hamiltonians to representations from the category O, this provides strong evidence for the conjecture of [FF5] linking the spectra of quantum g^-KdV Hamiltonians and affine opers for the Langlands dual affine algebra. As a bonus, we obtain a direct and uniform proof of the Bethe Ansatz equations for a large class of quantum integrable models associated to arbitrary untwisted quantum affine algebras, under a mild genericity condition. We also conjecture analogues of these results for the twisted quantum affine algebras and elucidate the notion of opers for twisted affine algebras, making a connection to twisted opers introduced in [FG].

Advances in R-matrices and their applications (after Maulik-Okounkov, Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh,...)

R-matrices are the solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. At the origin of the quantum group theory, they may be interpreted as intertwining operators. Recent advances have been made independently in different directions. Maulik-Okounkov have given a geometric approach to R-matrices with new tools in symplectic geometry, the stable envelopes. Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh proved a conjecture on the categorification of cluster algebras by using R-matrices in a crucial way. Eventually, a better understanding of the action of transfer-matrices obtained from R-matrices led to the proof of several conjectures about the corresponding quantum integrable systems.

Cluster algebras and category O for representations of Borel subalgebras of quantum affine algebras

Let $\mathcal{O}$ be the category of representations of the Borel subalgebra of a quantum affine algebra introduced by Jimbo and the first author. We show that the Grothendieck ring of a certain monoidal subcategory of $\mathcal{O}$ has the structure of a cluster algebra of infinite rank, with an initial seed consisting of prefundamental representations. In particular, the celebrated Baxter relations for the 6-vertex model get interpreted as Fomin-Zelevinsky mutation relations.

Baxter's Relations and Spectra of Quantum Integrable Models

Generalized Baxter's relations on the transfer-matrices (also known as Baxter's TQ relations) are constructed and proved for an arbitrary untwisted quantum affine algebra. Moreover, we interpret them as relations in the Grothendieck ring of the category O introduced by Jimbo and the second author in arXiv:1104.1891 involving infinite-dimensional representations constructed in arXiv:1104.1891, which we call here "prefundamental". We define the transfer-matrices associated to the prefundamental representations and prove that their eigenvalues on any finite-dimensional representation are polynomials up to a universal factor. These polynomials are the analogues of the celebrated Baxter polynomials. Combining these two results, we express the spectra of the transfer-matrices in the general quantum integrable systems associated to an arbitrary untwisted quantum affine algebra in terms of our generalized Baxter polynomials. This proves a conjecture of Reshetikhin and the first author formulated in 1998 (arXiv:math/9810055). We also obtain generalized Bethe Ansatz equations for all untwisted quantum affine algebras.

Schur Positivity and Kirillov-Reshetikhin Modules

In this note, inspired by the proof of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjecture, we consider tensor products of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of a fixed node and various level. We fix a positive integer and attach to each of its partitions such a tensor product. We show that there exists an embedding of the tensor products, with respect to the classical structure, along with the reverse dominance relation on the set of partitions.

Spectre des systèmes intégrables quantiques et représentations linéaires

We review arXiv:1308.3444 and arXiv:1104.1891. The structure of the spectrum of a quantum integrable system is crucial to understand its properties. In his seminar 1971 paper, Baxter observed that the spectrum of the "ice model" has a very remarkable form involving polynomials. Then it was conjectured that analog polynomials can be used to describe the spectra of more general quantum integrable systems (arXiv:math/9810055). We discuss how these (generalized Baxter's) polynomials arise naturally in terms of representation theory. This result lead recently to the proof of the conjecture.

A cluster algebra approach to q-characters of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules

We describe a cluster algebra algorithm for calculating q-characters of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules for any untwisted quantum affine algebra. This yields a geometric q-character formula for tensor products of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules. In simply laced type this formula extends Nakajima's formula for q-characters of standard modules in terms of homology of graded quiver varieties.

Geometry of the analytic loop group

We introduce and study a notion of analytic loop group with a Riemann-Hilbert factorization relevant for the representation theory of quantum affine algebras at roots of unity with non trivial central charge. We introduce a Poisson structure and study properties of its Poisson dual group. We prove that the Hopf-Poisson structure is isomorphic to the semi-classical limit of the center of the quantum affine algebra (it is a geometric realization of the center). Then the symplectic leaves, and corresponding equivalence classes of central characters, are parameterized by certain G-bundles on an elliptic curve.

Quantum Grothendieck rings and derived Hall algebras

We obtain a presentation of the t-deformed Grothendieck ring of a quantum loop algebra of Dynkin type A, D, E. Specializing t at the the square root of the cardinality of a finite field F, we obtain an isomorphism with the derived Hall algebra of the derived category of a quiver Q of the same Dynkin type. Along the way, we study for each choice of orientation Q a tensor subcategory whose t-deformed Grothendieck ring is isomorphic to the positive part of a quantum enveloping algebra of the same Dynkin type, where the classes of simple objects correspond to Lusztig's dual canonical basis.

Monoidal categorifications of cluster algebras of type A and D

In this note, we introduce monoidal subcategories of the tensor category of finite-dimensional representations of a simply-laced quantum affine algebra, parametrized by arbitrary Dynkin quivers. For linearly oriented quivers of types A and D, we show that these categories provide monoidal categorifications of cluster algebras of the same type. The proof is purely representation-theoretical, in the spirit of [arXiv:0903.1452].

Langlands duality for finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras

We describe a correspondence (or duality) between the q-characters of finite-dimensional representations of a quantum affine algebra and its Langlands dual in the spirit of q-alg/9708006 and 0809.4453. We prove this duality for the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and their irreducible tensor products. In the course of the proof we introduce and construct "interpolating (q,t)-characters" depending on two parameters which interpolate between the q-characters of a quantum affine algebra and its Langlands dual.

preprint2011arXiv

Langlands duality for representations of quantum groups

We establish a correspondence (or duality) between the characters and the crystal bases of finite-dimensional representations of quantum groups associated to Langlands dual semi-simple Lie algebras. This duality may also be stated purely in terms of semi-simple Lie algebras. To explain this duality, we introduce an "interpolating quantum group" depending on two parameters which interpolates between a quantum group and its Langlands dual. We construct examples of its representations, depending on two parameters, which interpolate between representations of two Langlands dual quantum groups.

The algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ and applications

In this note we consider the algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ and we study the category O of its integrable representations. The main motivations are applications to quantum toroidal algebras, more precisely predictions of character formulae for representations of quantum toroidal algebras. In this context, we state a general positivity conjecture for representations of $U_q(\hat{sl}_\infty)$ viewed as representations of quantum toroidal algebras, that we prove for Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules.

Beyond Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules

In this survey, we shall be concerned with the category of finite-dimensional representations of the untwisted quantum affine algebras when the quantum parameter q is not a root of unity. We review the foundational results of the subject, including the Drinfeld presentation, the classification of simple modules and q-characters. We then concentrate on particular families of irreducible representations whose structure has recently been understood: Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules, minimal affinizations and beyond.

Quantum toroidal algebras and their representations

Quantum toroidal algebras (or double affine quantum algebras) are defined from quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras by using the Drinfeld quantum affinization process. They are quantum groups analogs of elliptic Cherednik algebras (elliptic double affine Hecke algebras) to whom they are related via Schur-Weyl duality. In this review paper, we give a glimpse on some aspects of their very rich representation theory in the context of general quantum affinizations. We illustrate with several examples. We also announce new results and explain possible further developments, in particular on finite dimensional representations at roots of unity.

Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjecture : the general case

We prove the Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KR) conjecture in the general case : for all twisted quantum affine algebras we prove that the characters of KR modules solve the twisted Q-system and we get explicit formulas for the character of their tensor products (the untwisted simply-laced case was treated by Najakima, and the untwisted case by the author). The proof is uniform and provides several new developments for the representation theory of twisted quantum affine algebras, including twisted Frenkel-Reshetikhin q-characters (expected by Frenkel-Reshetikhin and Frenkel-Mukhin). We also prove the twisted T-system. As an application we get explicit formulas for the twisted q-characters of fundamental representations for all types, including the formulas for types D_4^{(3)}, E_6^{(2)} conjectured by Reshetikhin. We prove the formulas for KR modules in types A_n^{(2)} and D_4^{(3)} conjectured by Kuniba-Suzuki. Eventually our results imply the conjectural branching rules [HKOTT] to the quantum subalgebra of finite type.
