Strong rate of convergence for the Euler--Maruyama scheme of SDEs with unbounded Hölder continuous drift coefficient

In this paper, we provide the strong rate of convergence for the Euler--Maruyama scheme for multi-dimensional stochastic differential equations with uniformly locally (unbounded) Hölder continuous drift and multiplicative noise. Our technique is based on Itô--Tanaka trick (Zvonkin transformation) for unbounded drift. Moreover, in order to apply the stochastic sewing lemma, we use the heat kernel estimate for the density function of the Euler--Maruyama scheme.

Semi-implicit Euler--Maruyama scheme for polynomial diffusions on the unit ball

In this article, we consider numerical schemes for polynomial diffusions on the unit ball, which are solutions of stochastic differential equations with a diffusion coefficient of the form $\sqrt{1-|x|^{2}}$. We introduce a semi-implicit Euler--Maruyama scheme with the projection onto the unit ball and provide the $L^{2}$-rate of convergence. The main idea to consider the numerical scheme is the transformation argument introduced by Swart for proving the pathwise uniqueness for some stochastic differential equation with a non-Lipschitz diffusion coefficient.

A generalized Avikainen's estimate and its applications

Avikainen provided a sharp upper bound of the difference $\mathbb{E}[|g(X)-g(\widehat{X})|^{q}]$ by the moments of $|X-\widehat{X}|$ for any one-dimensional random variables $X$ with bounded density and $\widehat{X}$, and function of bounded variation $g$. In this article, we generalize this estimate to any one-dimensional random variable $X$ with Hölder continuous distribution function. As applications, we provide the rate of convergence for numerical schemes for solutions of one-dimensional stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by Brownian motion and symmetric $α$-stable with $α\in (1,2)$, fractional Brownian motion with drift and Hurst parameter $H \in (0,1/2)$, and stochastic heat equations (SHEs) with Dirichlet boundary conditions driven by space--time white noise, with irregular coefficients. We also consider a numerical scheme for maximum and integral type functionals of SDEs driven by Brownian motion with irregular coefficients and payoffs which are related to multilevel Monte Carlo method.

On the Euler-Maruyama approximation for one-dimensional stochastic differential equations with irregular coefficients

We study the strong rates of the Euler-Maruyama approximation for one dimensional stochastic differential equations whose drift coefficient may be neither continuous nor one-sided Lipschitz and diffusion coefficient is Hölder continuous. Especially, we show that the strong rate of the Euler-Maruyama approximation is 1/2 for a large class of equations whose drift is not continuous. We also provide the strong rate for equations whose drift is Hölder continuous and diffusion is nonconstant

Strong rate of convergence for the Euler-Maruyama approximation of SDEs with Hölder continuous drift coefficient

In this paper, we consider a numerical approximation of the stochastic differential equation (SDE) $$X_{t}=x_{0}+ \int_{0}^{t} b(s, X_{s}) \mathrm{d}s + L_{t},~x_{0} \in \mathbb{R}^{d},~t \in [0,T],$$ where the drift coefficient $b:[0,T] \times \mathbb{R}^d \to \mathbb{R}^d$ is Hölder continuous in both time and space variables and the noise $L=(L_t)_{0 \leq t \leq T}$ is a $d$-dimensional Lévy process. We provide the rate of convergence for the Euler-Maruyama approximation when $L$ is a Wiener process or a truncated symmetric $α$-stable process with $α\in (1,2)$. Our technique is based on the regularity of the solution to the associated Kolmogorov equation.

Convergence Implications via Dual Flow Method

Given a one-dimensional stochastic differential equation, one can associate to this equation a stochastic flow on $[0,+\infty )$, which has an absorbing barrier at zero. Then one can define its dual stochastic flow. In \cite{AW}, Akahori and Watanabe showed that its one-point motion solves a corresponding stochastic differential equation of Skorokhod-type. In this paper, we consider a discrete-time stochastic-flow which approximates the original stochastic flow. We show that under some assumptions, one-point motions of its dual flow also approximates the corresponding reflecting diffusion. We investigate the relation between them in weak and strong approximation sense.

$L^p(Ω)$-Difference of One-Dimensional Stochastic Differential Equations with Discontinuous Drift

We consider a one-dimensional stochastic differential equations (SDE) with irregular coefficients. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the $L^p(Ω)$-difference of SDEs using the norm of the difference of coefficients, where the discontinuous drift coefficient satisfies a one-sided Lipschitz condition and the diffusion coefficient is bounded, uniformly elliptic and Hölder continuous. As an application, we consider the stability problem.

Strong Rate of Convergence for the Euler-Maruyama Approximation of Stochastic Differential Equations with Irregular Coefficients

We consider the Euler-Maruyama approximation for multi-dimensional stochastic differential equations with irregular coefficients. We provide the rate of strong convergence where the possibly discontinuous drift coefficient satisfies a one-sided Lipschitz condition and the diffusion coefficient is Hölder continuous.
