Radiatively Induced Breaking of Conformal Symmetry in a Superpotential

Radiatively induced symmetry breaking is considered for a toy model with one scalar and one fermion field unified in a superfield. It is shown that the classical quartic self-interaction of the superfield possesses a quantum infrared singularity. Application of the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism for effective potential leads to the appearance of condensates and masses for both scalar and fermion components. That induces a spontaneous breaking of the initial classical symmetries: the supersymmetry and the conformal one. The energy scales for the scalar and fermion condensates appear to be of the same order, while the renormalization scale is many orders of magnitude higher. A possibility to relate the considered toy model to conformal symmetry breaking in the Standard Model is discussed.

Integrable hydrodynamic equations for initial chiral currents and infinite hydrodynamic chains from WZNW model and string model of WZNW type with $SU(2),$ $SO(3),$ $SP(2),$ $SU(\infty)$, $SO(\infty)$, $SP(\infty)$ constant torsions

The WZNW and string models are considered in the terms of the initial and invariant chiral currents assuming that the internal and external torsions coincide (anticoincide) and they are the structure constants of the $SU(n),SO(n),$ $SP(n)$ Lie algebras. These models are the auxiliary problems in order to construct integrable equations of hydrodynamic type. It was shown that the WZNW and string models in terms of invariant chiral currents are integrable for the constant torsion associated with the structure constants of the $SU(2),$ $SO(3),$ $SP(2)$ and $SU(3)$ algebras only. The equation of motion for the density of the first Casimir operator was obtained in the form of the inviscid Burgers equation. The solution of this equation is presented through the Lambert function. Also, a new equation of motion for the initial chiral current was found. The integrable infinite hydrodynamic chains obtained from the WZNW and string models are given in terms of invariant chiral currents with the $SU(2)$, $SO(3)$, $SP(2)$ and with $SU(\infty)$, $SO(\infty)$, $SP(\infty)$ constant torsions. Also, the equations of motion for the density of any Casimir operator and new infinite dimensional equations of hydrodynamic type for the initial chiral currents through the symmetric structure constant of $SU(\infty)$, $SO(\infty),$ $SP(\infty)$ algebras are obtained.

Quaternionic and Hyper-Kähler Metrics from Generalized Sigma Models

The problem of finding new metrics of interest, in the context of SUGRA, is reduced to two stages: first, solving a generalized BPS sigma model with full quaternionic structure proposed by the authors and, second, constructing the hyper-Kähler metric, or suitable deformations of this condition, taking advantage of the correspondence between the quaternionic left-regular potential and the hyper-Kähler metric of the target space. As illustration, new solutions are obtained using generalized Q-sigma model for Wess-Zumino type superpotentials. Explicit solutions analog to the Berger's sphere and Abraham-Townsend type are given and generalizations of 4-dimensional quaternionic metrics, product of complex ones, are shown and discussed.

New spherically symmetric monopole and regular solutions in Einstein-Born-Infeld theories

In this work a new asymptotically flat solution of the coupled Einstein-Born-Infeld equations for a static spherically symmetric space-time is obtained. When the intrinsic mass is zero the resulting spacetime is regular everywhere, in the sense given by B. Hoffmann and L. Infeld in 1937, and the Einstein-Born-Infeld theory leads to the identification of the gravitational with the electromagnetic mass. This means that the metric, the electromagnetic field and their derivatives have not discontinuities in all the manifold. In particular, there are not conical singularities at the origin, in contrast to well known monopole solution studied by B. Hoffmann in 1935. The lack of uniqueness of the action function in Non-Linear-Electrodynamics is discussed.
