We study a few approaches to identify inclusion (up to a shift) between two convex bodies in Rn. To this goal we use mixed volumes and fractional linear maps. We prove that inclusion may be identified by comparing volume or surface area of all projective positions of the sets. We prove similar results for Minkowski sums of the sets.
In this paper we give a characterization of all order isomorphisms on some classes of convex functions. We deal with the class Cvx(K) consisting of lower-semi-continuous convex functions defined on a convex set K, and its subclass Cvx0(K) of non negative functions attaining the value zero at the origin. We show that any order isomorphism on these classes must be induced by a point map on the epi-graphs of the functions, and determine the exact form of this map. To this end we study convexity preserving maps on subsets of Rn, and also in this area we have some new interpretations, and proofs.
We present a direct analytic method towards an estimate for the rate of convergence (to the Euclidean Ball) of Steiner symmetrizations. To this end we present a modified version of a known stability property of the Steiner symmetrization.
The purpose of this paper is to show stability of order preserving/reversing transforms on the class of non-negative convex functions in Rn, and its subclass, the class of non-negative convex functions attaining 0 at the origin (these are called "geometric convex functions"). We show that transforms that satisfy conditions which are weaker than order preserving transforms, are essentially close to the order preserving transforms on the mentioned structures.
We characterize the mixed discriminant of positive semi definite matrices using its most basic properties. As a corollary we establish its minimality among non negative and multi additive functionals.
