We mainly study Pogorelov type $C^2$ estimates for solutions to the Dirichlet problem of Sum Hessian equations. We establish respectively Pogorelov type $C^2$ estimates for $k$-convex solutions and admissible solutions under some conditions. Furthermore, we apply such estimates to obtain a rigidity theorem for $k$-convex solutions of Sum Hessian equations in Euclidean space.
We prove that, in Minkowski space, if a spacelike, $(n-1)$-convex hypersurface $M$ with constant $σ_{n-1}$ curvature has bounded principal curvatures, then $M$ is convex. Moreover, if $M$ is not strictly convex, after an $\mathbb{R}^{n,1}$ rigid motion, $M$ splits as a product $M^{n-1}\times\mathbb{R}.$ We also construct nontrivial examples of strictly convex, spacelike hypersurface $M$ with constant $σ_{n-1}$ curvature and bounded principal curvatures.
The main result of this paper gives a plenary proof on the curvature estimates for $k$ curvature equations with general right hand sides with $n<2k$ based on a concavity inequality. We further give a explicit lower bound of the inequality.

We establish an interior $C^2$ estimate for $k+1$ convex solutions to Dirichlet problems of $k$-Hessian equations. We also use such estimate to obtain a rigidity theorem for $k+1$ convex entire solutions of $k$-Hessian equations in Euclidean space.
We establish $C^2$ a priori estimate for convex hypersurfaces whose principal curvatures $κ=(κ_1,..., κ_n)$ satisfying Weingarten curvature equation $σ_k(κ(X))=f(X,ν(X))$. We also obtain such estimate for admissible 2-convex hypersurfaces in the case $k=2$. Our estimates resolve a longstanding problem in geometric fully nonlinear elliptic equations.
