A Deformed Supersymmetric $w_{1+\infty}$ Symmetry in the Celestial Conformal Field Theory

By using the $K$-free complex bosons and the $K$-free complex fermions, we construct the ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric $W_{\infty}^{K,K}$ algebra which is the matrix generalization of previous ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric $W_{\infty}$ algebra. By twisting this ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric $W_{\infty}^{K,K}$ algebra, we obtain the ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric $W_{\infty}^{K}$ algebra which is the matrix generalization of known ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric topological $W_{\infty}$ algebra. From this two-dimensional symmetry algebra, we propose the operator product expansion (OPE) between the soft graviton and gravitino (as a first example), at nonzero deformation parameter, in the supersymmetric Einstein-Yang-Mills theory explicitly. Other six OPEs between the graviton, gravitino, gluon and gluino can be determined completely. At vanishing deformation parameter, we reproduce the known result of Fotopoulos, Stieberger, Taylor and Zhu on the above OPEs via celestial holography.

The ${\cal N}=2$ Supersymmetric $w_{1+\infty}$ Symmetry in the Two-Dimensional SYK Models

We identify the rank $(q_{syk}+1)$ of the interaction of the two-dimensional ${\cal N}=(2,2)$ SYK model with the deformation parameter $λ$ in the Bergshoeff, de Wit and Vasiliev(in 1991)'s linear $W_{\infty}[λ]$ algebra via $λ=\frac{1}{2(q_{syk}+1)}$ by using a matrix generalization. At the vanishing $λ$ (or the infinity limit of $q_{syk}$), the ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric linear $W_{\infty}^{N,N}[λ=0]$ algebra contains the matrix version of known ${\cal N}=2$ $W_{\infty}$ algebra, as a subalgebra, by realizing that the $N$-chiral multiplets and the $N$-Fermi multiplets in the above SYK models play the role of the same number of $β\, γ$ and $b\, c$ ghost systems in the linear $W_{\infty}^{N,N}[λ=0]$ algebra. For the nonzero $λ$, we determine the complete ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric linear $W_{\infty}^{N,N}[λ]$ algebra where the structure constants are given by the linear combinations of two different generalized hypergeometric functions having the $λ$ dependence. The weight-$1, \frac{1}{2}$ currents occur in the right hand sides of this algebra and their structure constants have the $λ$ factors. We also describe the $λ=\frac{1}{4}$ (or $q_{syk}=1$) case in the truncated subalgebras by calculating the vanishing structure constants.

The ${\cal N}=4$ Supersymmetric Linear $W_{\infty}[λ]$ Algebra

From the recently known ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric linear $W_{\infty}^{K,K}[λ]$ algebra where $K$ is the dimension of fundamental (or antifundamental) representation of bifundamental $β\, γ$ and $b \, c$ ghost system, we determine its ${\cal N}=4$ supersymmetric enhancement at $K=2$. We construct the ${\cal N}=4$ stress energy tensor, the first ${\cal N}=4$ multiplet and their operator product expansions (OPEs) in terms of above bifundamentals. We show that the OPEs between the first ${\cal N}=4$ multiplet and itself are the same as the corresponding ones in the ${\cal N}=4$ coset $\frac{SU(N+2)}{SU(N)}$ model under the large $(N,k)$ 't Hooft-like limit with fixed $λ_{co} \equiv \frac{(N+1)}{(k+N+2)}$, up to two central terms. The two parameters are related to each other $λ=\frac{1}{2}\, λ_{co}$. We also provide other OPEs by considering the second, the third and the fourth ${\cal N}=4$ multiplets in the ${\cal N}=4$ supersymmetric linear $W_{\infty}[λ]$ algebra.

Toward A Supersymmetric $w_{1+\infty}$ Symmetry in the Celestial Conformal Field Theory

The $w_{1+\infty}$ symmetry algebra appears in the Einstein--Yang--Mills theory, proposed recently by Strominger. In this paper, we derive the supersymmetric $w_{1+\infty}$ symmetry by using the known results on the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the graviton, gravitino, gluon, and gluino in the supersymmetric version of the above theory. We calculate the four additional commutator relations between the soft currents explicitly. In addition, we analyze the works of Odake et al. and Pope et al. and introduce the additional symmetry current that corresponds to the celestial gluino operator. Through this procedure, all seven commutator relations can be connected to the ones associated with the supersymmetric $w_{1+\infty}$ algebra with $SU(N)$ symmetry under the restrictions of wedge modes.

Worldsheet Free Fields, Higher Spin Symmetry and Free ${\cal N}=4$ Super Yang-Mills

By using the free field worldsheet realization described by Gaberdiel and Gopakumar recently, we construct the nontrivial lowest generators of the higher spin superalgebra $hs(2,2|4)$. They consist of cubic terms between the bilinears of ambitwistor-like fields. We also obtain the worldsheet description for the findings of Sezgin and Sundell twenty years ago given by the familiar oscillator construction. The first order poles of the operator product expansions (OPEs), between the conformal weight-$1$ generators of Lie superalgebra $PSU(2,2|4)$ and the above conformal weight-$3$ generators of $hs(2,2|4)$, are determined explicitly and the additional generators appear in the worldsheet theory.

Adding Complex Fermions to the Grassmannian-like Coset Model

In the ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric coset model, $\frac{SU(N+M)_k \times SO(2 N M)_1}{ SU(N)_{k+M} \times U(1)_{ N M (N+M)(k+N+M)}}$, we construct the $SU(M)$ nonsinglet ${\cal N}=2$ multiplet of spins $(1, \frac{3}{2}, \frac{3}{2}, 2)$ in terms of coset fields. The next $SU(M)$ singlet and nonsinglet ${\cal N}=2$ multiplets of spins $(2, \frac{5}{2}, \frac{5}{2}, 3)$ are determined by applying the ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetry currents of spin $\frac{3}{2}$ to the bosonic singlet and nonsinglet currents of spin $3$ in the bosonic coset model. We also obtain the operator product expansions(OPEs) between the currents of the ${\cal N}=2$ superconformal algebra and above three kinds of ${\cal N}=2$ multiplets. These currents in two dimensions play the role of the asymptotic symmetry, as the generators of ${\cal N}=2$ "rectangular $W$-algebra", of the $M \times M$ matrix generalization of ${\cal N}=2$ $AdS_3$ higher spin theory in the bulk. The structure constants in the right hand sides of these OPEs are dependent on the three parameters $k, N$ and $M$ explicitly. Moreover, the OPEs between $SU(M)$ nonsinglet ${\cal N}=2$ multiplet of spins $(1, \frac{3}{2}, \frac{3}{2}, 2)$ and itself are analyzed in detail. The complete OPE between the lowest component of the $SU(M)$ singlet ${\cal N}=2$ multiplet of spins $(2, \frac{5}{2}, \frac{5}{2}, 3)$ and itself is described. In particular, when $M=2$, it is known that the above ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetric coset model provides the realization of the extension of the large ${\cal N}=4$ nonlinear superconformal algebra. We determine the currents of the large ${\cal N}=4$ nonlinear superconformal algebra and the higher spin-$\frac{3}{2}, 2$ currents of the lowest ${\cal N}=4$ multiplet for generic $k$ and $N$ in terms of the coset fields.

Fermionic Construction in the Supersymmetric Coset Model

It is known previously that the operator product expansion (OPE) between the first ${\cal N}=3 $ multiplet and itself contains the second ${\cal N}=3$ multiplet in the supersymmetric coset model. In this paper, by using their realizations in terms of various fermions, we compute the four kinds of OPEs between the first and the second ${\cal N}=3$ multiplets for fixed $N$ and $M$ where the group of the coset contains $SU(N+M)$. By supersymmetrizing the above OPEs in ${\cal N}=3$ superspace and using the various Jacobi identities between the currents, we determine the ${\cal N}=3$ supersymmetric OPE between the first and the second ${\cal N}=3$ multiplets completely. The right hand side of this OPE contains the various ${\cal N}=3$ multiplets: the $SO(3)$ singlet ${\cal N}=3$ multiplets of superspin-$\frac{3}{2},2,3,4$ and the $SO(3)$ triplet ${\cal N}=3$ multiplets of superspin-$\frac{5}{2},3,\frac{7}{2}$. The ${\cal N}=2$ superspace description and the decoupling of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ current of the ${\cal N}=3$ superconformal algebra are also described.

The ${\cal N}=4$ Coset Model and the Higher Spin Algebra

By computing the operator product expansions between the first two ${\cal N}=4$ higher spin multiplets in the unitary coset model, the (anti)commutators of higher spin currents are obtained under the large $(N,k)$ 't Hooft-like limit. The free field realization with complex bosons and fermions is presented. The (anti)commutators for generic spins $s_1$ and $s_2$ with manifest $SO(4)$ symmetry at vanishing 't Hooft-like coupling constant are completely determined. The structure constants can be written in terms of the ones in the ${\cal N}=2$ ${\cal W}_{\infty}$ algebra found by Bergshoeff, Pope, Romans, Sezgin and Shen previously, in addition to the spin-dependent fractional coefficients and two $SO(4)$ invariant tensors. We also describe the ${\cal N}=4$ higher spin generators, by using the above coset construction results, for general super spin $s$ in terms of oscillators in the matrix generalization of $AdS_3$ Vasiliev higher spin theory at nonzero 't Hooft-like coupling constant. We obtain the ${\cal N}=4$ higher spin algebra for low spins and present how to determine the structure constants, which depend on the higher spin algebra parameter, in general, for fixed spins $s_1$ and $s_2$.

Higher Spin Currents in the Enhanced N=3 Kazama-Suzuki Model

The N=3 Kazama-Suzuki model at the `critical' level has been found by Creutzig, Hikida and Ronne. We construct the lowest higher spin currents of spins (3/2, 2,2,2,5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in terms of various fermions. In order to obtain the operator product expansions (OPEs) between these higher spin currents, we describe three N=2 OPEs between the two N=2 higher spin currents denoted by (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) (corresponding 36 OPEs in the component approach). Using the various Jacobi identities, the coefficient functions appearing on the right hand side of these N=2 OPEs are determined in terms of central charge completely. Then we describe them as one single N=3 OPE in the N=3 superspace. The right hand side of this N=3 OPE contains the SO(3)-singlet N=3 higher spin multiplet of spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 3,3,3, 7/2), the SO(3)-singlet N=3 higher spin multiplet of spins (5/2, 3,3,3, 7/2, 7/2, 7/2, 4), and the SO(3)-triplet N=3 higher spin multiplets where each multiplet has the spins (3, 7/2, 7/2, 7/2, 4,4,4, 9/2), in addition to N=3 superconformal family of the identity operator. Finally, by factoring out the spin-1/2 current of N=3 linear superconformal algebra generated by eight currents of spins (1/2, 1,1,1, 3/2, 3/2, 3/2, 2), we obtain the extension of so-called SO(3) nonlinear Knizhnik Bershadsky algebra.

Higher Spin Currents in the N=2 Stringy Coset Minimal Model

In the coset model based on (A_{N-1}^{(1)} \oplus A_{N-1}^{(1)}, A_{N-1}^{(1)}) at level (N, N; 2N), it is known that the N=2 superconformal algebra can be realized by the two kinds of adjoint fermions. Each Kac-Moody current of spin-1 is given by the product of fermions with structure constant (f symbols) as usual. One can construct the spin-1 current by combining the above two fermions with the structure constant and the spin-1 current by multiplying these two fermions with completely symmetric SU(N) invariant tensor of rank 3 (d symbols). The lowest higher spin-2 current with nonzero U(1) charge (corresponding to the zeromode eigenvalue of spin-1 current of N=2 superconformal algebra) can be obtained from these four spin-1 currents in quadratic form. Similarly, the other type of lowest higher spin-2 current, whose U(1) charge is opposite to the above one, can be obtained also. Four higher spin-5/2 currents can be constructed from the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the spin-3/2 currents of N=2 superconformal algebra and the above two higher spin-2 currents. The two higher spin-3 currents can be determined by the OPEs between the above spin-3/2 currents and the higher spin-5/2 currents. Finally, the ten N=2 OPEs between the four N=2 higher spin multiplets (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3), (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3), (7/2, 4, 4, 9/2) and (7/2, 4, 4, 9/2) are obtained explicitly for generic N.

Higher Spin Currents in Wolf Space: Part III

The large N=4 linear superconformal algebra (generated by four spin-1/2 currents, seven spin-1 currents, four spin-3/2 currents and one spin-2 current) found by Sevrin, Troost and Van Proeyen (and other groups) was realized in the N=4 superconformal coset SU(5)/SU(3) theory previously. The lowest 16 higher spin currents of spins (1, 3/2, 3/2, 2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) are obtained by starting with the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the four spin-3/2 currents from the above large N=4 linear superconformal algebra and the lowest higher spin-1 current which is the same as the one in the Wolf space coset SU(5)/[SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1)] theory. These OPEs determine the four higher spin-3/2 currents and the next six higher spin-2 currents are obtained from the OPEs between the above four spin-3/2 currents associated with the N=4 supersymmetry and these four higher spin-3/2 currents. The four higher spin-5/2 currents can be determined by calculating the OPEs between the above four spin-3/2 currents and the higher spin-2 currents. Similarly, the higher spin-3 current is obtained from the OPEs between the four spin-3/2 currents and the higher spin-5/2 currents. The explicit relations between the above 16 higher spin currents and the corresponding 16 higher spin currents which were found in the extension of large N=4 nonlinear superconformal algebra previously are given. By examining the OPEs between the 16 currents from the large N=4 linear superconformal algebra and the 16 higher spin currents, the match with the findings of Beccaria, Candu and Gaberdiel is also given. The next 16 higher spin currents of spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2) and (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4) occur from the OPEs between the above lowest 16 higher spin currents.

The Operator Product Expansion between the 16 Lowest Higher Spin Currents in the N=4 Superspace

Some of the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the lowest 16 higher spin currents of spins (1, 3/2, 3/2, 3/2, 3/2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in an extension of the large N=4 linear superconformal algebra were constructed in the N=4 superconformal coset SU(5)/SU(3) theory previously. In this paper, by rewriting the above OPEs in the N=4 superspace developed by Schoutens (and other groups), the remaining undetermined OPEs where the corresponding singular terms possess the composite fields with spins s =7/2, 4, 9/2, 5 are completely determined. Furthermore, by introducing the arbitrary coefficients in front of the composite fields in the right hand sides of the above complete 136 OPEs, reexpressing them in the N=2 superspace and using the N=2 OPEs mathematica package by Krivonos and Thielemans, the complete structures of the above OPEs with fixed coefficient functions are obtained with the help of various Jacobi identities. Then one obtains ten N=2 super OPEs between the four N=2 higher spin currents denoted by (1, 3/2, 3/2, 2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) (corresponding 136 OPEs in the component approach) in the N=4 superconformal coset SU(N+2)/SU(N) theory. Finally, one describes them as one single N=4 super OPE between the above sixteen higher spin currents in the N=4 superspace. The fusion rule for this OPE contains the next 16 higher spin currents of spins of (2, 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 7/2, 7/2, 7/2, 7/2, 4) in addition to the quadratic N=4 lowest higher spin multiplet and the large N=4 linear superconformal family of the identity operator. The various structure constants (fixed coefficient functions) appearing in the right hand side of this OPE depend on N and the level k of the bosonic spin-1 affine Kac-Moody current.

Three Point Functions in the Large N=4 Holography

The 16 higher spin currents with spins (1, 3/2, 3/2, 2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in an extension of large N=4 `nonlinear' superconformal algebra in two dimensions were obtained previously. By analyzing the zero mode eigenvalue equations carefully, the three point functions of bosonic (higher spin) currents with two scalars for any finite N (where SU(N+2) is the group of coset) and k (the level of spin-1 Kac Moody current) are obtained. Furthermore, the 16 higher spin currents with above spin contents in an extension of large N=4 `linear' superconformal algebra are obtained for generic N and k implicitly. The corresponding three point functions are also determined. Under the large N 't Hooft limit, the two corresponding three point functions in the nonlinear and linear versions coincide with each other although they are completely different for finite N and k.

Three Point Functions in the N=4 Orthogonal Coset Theory

We construct the lowest higher spin-2 current in terms of the spin-1 and the spin-1/2 currents living in the orthogonal SO(N+4)/[SO(N) x SO(4)] Wolf space coset theory for general N. The remaining fifteen higher spin currents are determined. We obtain the three-point functions of bosonic (higher) spin currents with two scalars for finite N and k (the level of the spin-1 current). By multiplying SU(2) x U(1) into the above Wolf space coset theory, the other fifteen higher spin currents together with the above lowest higher spin-2 current are realized in the extension of the large N=4 linear superconformal algebra. Similarly, the three-point functions of bosonic (higher) spin currents with two scalars for finite N and k are obtained. Under the large N 't Hooft limit, the two types of three-point functions in the nonlinear and linear versions coincide as in the unitary coset theory found previously.

Higher Spin Currents in Orthogonal Wolf Space

For the N=4 superconformal coset theory by [SO(N+4)/SO(N) x SU(2)] x U(1) (that contains an orthogonal Wolf space) with N=4, the N=2 WZW affine current algebra is obtained. The 16 generators (or 11 generators) of the large N=4 linear (or nonlinear) superconformal algebra are described by these WZW affine currents explicitly. Along the line of large N=4 holography, the extra 16 currents with spins (2,5/2,5/2, 3), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2), and (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4) are obtained in terms of the WZW affine currents. The lowest spin of this N=4 multiplet is two rather than one which is for an unitary Wolf space. The operator product expansions (OPEs) between the above 11 currents and these extra 16 higher spin currents are found explicitly.

Higher Spin Currents in Wolf Space for Generic N

We obtain the 16 higher spin currents with spins (1,3/2,3/2,2),(3/2, 2,2, 5/2), (3/2,2,2, 5/2) and (2,5/2,5/2,3) in the N=4 superconformal Wolf space coset SU(N+2)/[SU(N) x SU(2) x U(1)]. The antisymmetric second rank tensor occurs in the quadratic spin-1/2 Kac-Moody currents of the higher spin-1 current. Each higher spin-3/2 current contains the above antisymmetric second rank tensor and three symmetric (and traceless) second rank tensors (i.e. three antisymmetric almost complex structures contracted by the above antisymmetric tensor) in the product of spin-1/2 and spin-1 Kac-Moody currents respectively. Moreover, the remaining higher spin currents of spins 2, 5/2, 3 contain the combinations of the (symmetric) metric, the three almost complex structures, the antisymmetric tensor or the three symmetric tensors in the multiple product of the above Kac-Moody currents as well as the composite currents from the large N=4 nonlinear superconformal algebra.

Higher Spin Currents in Wolf Space: Part I

For the N=4 superconformal coset theory described by SU(N+2)/SU(N) (that contains a Wolf space) with N=3, the N=2 WZW affine current algebra with constraints is obtained. The 16 generators of the large N=4 linear superconformal algebra are described by those WZW affine currents explicitly. By factoring out four spin-1/2 currents and the spin-1 current from these 16 generators, the remaining 11 generators (spin-2 current, four spin-3/2 currents, and six spin-1 currents) corresponding to the large N=4 nonlinear superconformal algebra are obtained. Based on the recent work by Gaberdiel and Gopakumar on the large N=4 holography, the extra 16 currents, with spin contents (1, 3/2, 3/2, 2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2), and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) described in terms of N=2 multiplets, are obtained and realized by the WZW affine currents. As a first step towards N=4 W algebra (which is NOT known so far), the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the above 11 currents and these extra 16 higher spin currents are found explicitly. It turns out that the composite fields with definite U(1) charges, made of above (11+16) currents (which commute with the Wolf space subgroup SU(N=3) x SU(2) x U(1) currents), occur in the right hand sides of these OPEs.

Higher Spin Currents in Wolf Space: Part II

The 16 lowest higher spin currents of spins (1, 3/2, 3/2, 2), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2 ), (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in terms of N=2 WZW affine currents were obtained in the N=4 superconformal Wolf space coset SU(5)/[SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1)] previously. By calculating the operator product expansions (OPEs) between the above higher spin currents which are contained in an extension of large N=4 nonlinear superconformal algebra, the next 16 higher spin currents of spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2 ), (5/2, 3, 3, 7/2) and (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4) are determined from the right hand sides of these OPEs. Moreover, the composite fields consisting of both the 11 currents in the large N=4 nonlinear superconformal algebra and the above 16 lowest higher spin currents also occur in the right hand sides of these OPEs. The latter appears quadratically (and linearly) in the fusion rules together with large N=4 nonlinear superconformal family of the identity operator.

Higher Spin Currents in the Holographic N=1 Coset Minimal Model

In the N=1 supersymmetric coset minimal model based on (B_N^{(1)} \oplus D_N^{(1)}, D_N^{(1)}) at level (k,1) studied recently, the standard N=1 super stress tensor of spins (3/2,2) is reviewed. By considering the stress tensor in the coset (B_N^{(1)}, D_N^{(1)}) at level k, the higher spin-2' Casimir current was obtained previously. By acting the above spin-3/2 current on the higher spin-2' Casimir current, its superpartner, the higher spin-5/2 current, can be generated and combined as the first higher spin supercurrent with spins (2', 5/2). By calculating the operator product expansions (OPE) between the higher spin supercurrent and itself, the next higher spin supercurrent can be generated with spins (7/2,4). Moreover, the other higher spin supercurrent with spins (4',9/2) can be generated by calculating the OPE between the first higher spin supercurrent with spins (2', 5/2) and the second higher spin supercurrent with spins (7/2,4). Finally, the higher spin supercurrent, (11/2,6), can be extracted from the right hand side of OPE between the higher spin supercurrents, (2', 5/2) and (4', 9/2).

Higher Spin Currents in the N=1 Stringy Coset Minimal Model

This study reconsidered the N=1 supersymmetric extension of the W_3 algebra which was studied previously. This extension consists of seven higher spin supercurrents (fourteen higher spin currents in the components) as well as the N=1 stress energy tensor of spins (3/2, 2). Thus far, the complete expressions for the higher spin currents have not been derived. This paper constructs them explicitly in both the c=4 eight free fermion model and the supersymmetric coset model based on (A_2^{(1)} \oplus A_2^{(1)}, A_2^{(1)})$ at level (3,k). By acting with the above spin-3/2 current on the higher spin-3 Casimir current, its fermionic partner, the higher spin-5/2 current, can be generated and combined as a first higher spin supercurrent with spins (5/2, 3). By calculating the operator product expansions (OPE) between the higher spin supercurrent and itself, the next two higher spin supercurrents can be generated with spins (7/2, 4) and (4, 9/2). Moreover, the other two higher spin supercurrents with spins (4, 9/2) and (9/2, 5) can be generated by calculating the OPE between the first higher spin supercurrent with spins (5/2, 3) and the second higher spin supercurrent with spins (7/2, 4). Finally, the higher spin supercurrents, (11/2, 6) and (6, 13/2), can be extracted from the right hand side of the OPE between the higher spin supercurrents, (5/2, 3) and (4, 9/2).

Higher Spin Currents with Arbitrary N in the N=1 Stringy Coset Minimal Model

In the N=1 supersymmetric coset model based on (A_{N-1}^{(1)} \oplus A_{N-1}^{(1)}, A_{N-1}^{(1)}) at level (k, N), the lowest N=1 higher spin supercurrent with spins-(5/2, 3), in terms of two independent numerator WZW currents, is reviewed. By calculating the operator product expansions (OPE) between this N=1 higher spin supercurrent and itself, the next two N=1 higher spin supercurrents can be generated with spins-(7/2, 4) and (4, 9/2). These four currents are polynomials of degree 3, 4, 4, 4 in the first numerator WZW currents with level k. The complete nonlinear OPE of the lowest N=1 higher spin supercurrent for general N is obtained. The three-point functions involving two scalar primaries with one spin-2 current or spin-3 current are calculated in the large N limit for all values of the 't Hooft coupling. In particular, the light states that appeared in the case when the second level was fixed by 1 are no longer light ones because the eigenvalues are finite in the large N limit.

Spin-5 Casimir Operator and Its Three-Point Functions with Two Scalars

By calculating the second-order pole in the operator product expansion (OPE) between the spin-3 Casimir operator and the spin-4 Casimir operator known previously, the spin-5 Casimir operator is obtained in the coset model based on (A_{N-1}^{(1)} \oplus A_{N-1}^{(1)}, A_{N-1}^{(1)}) at level (k,1). This spin-5 Casimir operator consisted of the quintic, quartic (with one derivative) and cubic (with two derivatives) WZW currents contracted with SU(N) invariant tensors. The three-point functions with two scalars for all values of 't Hooft coupling in the large N limit were obtained by analyzing the zero-mode eigenvalue equations carefully. These three-point functions were dual to those in AdS_3 higher spin gravity theory with matter. Furthermore, the exact three-point functions that hold for any finite N and k are obtained. The zero mode eigenvalue equations for the spin-5 current in CFT coincided with those of the spin-5 field in asymptotic symmetry algebra of the higher spin theory on the AdS_3. This paper also describes the structure constant appearing in the spin-4 Casimir operator from the OPE between the spin-3 Casimir operator and itself for N=4, 5 in the more general coset minimal model with two arbitrary levels (k_1, k_2).

The OPEs of Spin-4 Casimir Currents in the Holographic SO(N) Coset Minimal Models

We compute the operator product expansion (OPE) between the spin-4 current and itself in the WD_4 coset minimal model with SO(8) current algebra. The right hand side of this OPE contains the spin-6 Casimir current which is also a generator of WD_4 coset minimal model. Based on this N=8 result, we generalize the above OPE for the general N(in the WD_{N/2} coset minimal model) by using two N-generalized coupling constants initiated by Hornfeck sometime ago: the simplest OPE for the lowest higher spin currents. We also analyze the similar OPE in the WB_3(and WB_{(N-1)/2}) coset minimal model with SO(7) current algebra. The large N 't Hooft limits are discussed. Our results in two dimensional conformal field theory provide the asymptotic symmetry, at the quantum level, of the higher spin AdS_3 gravity found by Chen et al.

The Coset Spin-4 Casimir Operator and Its Three-Point Functions with Scalars

We find the GKO coset construction of the dimension 4 Casimir operator that contains the quartic WZW currents contracted with completely symmetric SU(N) invariant tensors of ranks 4, 3, and 2. The requirements, that the operator product expansion with the diagonal current is regular and it should be primary under the coset Virasoro generator of dimension 2, fix all the coefficients in spin-4 current, up to two unknown coefficients. The operator product expansion of coset primary spin-3 field with itself fixes them completely. We compute the three-point functions with scalars for all values of the 't Hooft coupling in the large N limit. At fixed 't Hooft coupling, these three-point functions are dual to that found by Chang and Yin recently in the undeformed AdS_3 bulk theory (higher spin gravity with matter).

The Large N 't Hooft Limit of Kazama-Suzuki Model

We consider N=2 Kazama-Suzuki model on CP^N=SU(N+1)/SU(N)xU(1). It is known that the N=2 current algebra for the supersymmetric WZW model, at level k, is a nonlinear algebra. The N=2 W_3 algebra corresponding to N=2 was recovered from the generalized GKO coset construction previously. For N=4, we construct one of the higher spin currents, in N=2 W_5 algebra, with spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3). The self-coupling constant in the operator product expansion of this current and itself depends on N as well as k explicitly. We also observe a new higher spin primary current of spins (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4). From the behaviors of N=2, 4 cases, we expect the operator product expansion of the lowest higher spin current and itself in N=2 W_{N+1} algebra. By taking the large (N, k) limit on the various operator product expansions in components, we reproduce, at the linear order, the corresponding operator product expansions in N=2 classical W_{\infty}^{cl}[λ] algebra which is the asymptotic symmetry of the higher spin AdS_3 supergravity found recently.

The Operator Product Expansion of the Lowest Higher Spin Current at Finite N

For the N=2 Kazama-Suzuki(KS) model on CP^3, the lowest higher spin current with spins (2, 5/2, 5/2,3) is obtained from the generalized GKO coset construction. By computing the operator product expansion of this current and itself, the next higher spin current with spins (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4) is also derived. This is a realization of the N=2 W_{N+1} algebra with N=3 in the supersymmetric WZW model. By incorporating the self-coupling constant of lowest higher spin current which is known for the general (N,k), we present the complete nonlinear operator product expansion of the lowest higher spin current with spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in the N=2 KS model on CP^N space. This should coincide with the asymptotic symmetry of the higher spin AdS_3 supergravity at the quantum level. The large (N,k) 't Hooft limit and the corresponding classical nonlinear algebra are also discussed.

The Primary Spin-4 Casimir Operators in the Holographic SO(N) Coset Minimal Models

Starting from SO(N) current algebra, we construct two lowest primary higher spin-4 Casimir operators which are quartic in spin-1 fields. For N is odd, one of them corresponds to the current in the WB_{\frac{N-1}{2}} minimal model. For N is even, the other corresponds to the current in the WD_{\frac{N}{2}} minimal model. These primary higher spin currents, the generators of wedge subalgebra, are obtained from the operator product expansion of fermionic (or bosonic) primary spin-N/2 field with itself in each minimal model respectively. We obtain, indirectly, the three-point functions with two real scalars, in the large N 't Hooft limit, for all values of the 't Hooft coupling which should be dual to the three-point functions in the higher spin AdS_3 gravity with matter.

Towards New Membrane Flow from de Wit-Nicolai Construction

The internal 4-form field strengths with 7-dimensional indices have been constructed by de Wit and Nicolai in 1986. They are determined by the following six quantities: the 56-bein of 4-dimensional N=8 gauged supergravity, the Killing vectors on the round seven-sphere, the covariant derivative acting on these Killing vectors, the warp factor, the field strengths with 4-dimensional indices and the 7-dimensional metric. In this paper, by projecting out the remaining mixed 4-form field strengths in an SU(8) tensor that appears in the variation of spin 1/2 fermionic sector, we also write down them explicitly in terms of some of the above quantities. For the known critical points, the N=8 SO(8) point and the nonsupersymmetric SO(7)^{+} point, we reproduce the corresponding 11-dimensional uplifts by computing the full nonlinear expressions. Moreover, we find out the 11-dimensional lift of the nonsupersymmetric SO(7)^{+} invariant flow. We decode their implicit formula for the first time and the present work will provide how to obtain the new supersymmetric or nonsupersymmetric membrane flows in 11-dimensions.

The Large N 't Hooft Limit of Coset Minimal Models

Recently, Gaberdiel and Gopakumar proposed that the two-dimensional WA_{N-1} minimal model conformal field theory in the large N 't Hooft limit is dual to the higher spin theories on the three-dimensional AdS space with two complex scalars. In this paper, we examine this proposal for the WD_{N/2} and WB_{(N-1)/2} minimal models initiated by Fateev and Lukyanov in 1988. By analyzing the renormalization group flows on these models, we find that the gravity duals in AdS space are higher spin theories coupled to two equally massive real scalar fields. We also describe the large N 't Hooft limit for the minimal model of the second parafermion theory.

Holographic N=1 Supersymmetric Membrane Flows

The M-theory lift of N=2 SU(3) x U(1)_R-invariant RG flow via a combinatorical use of the 4-dimensional flow and 11-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations was found previously. By taking the three internal coordinates differently and preserving only SU(3) symmetry from the CP^2 space, we find a new 11-dimensional solution of N=1 SU(3)-invariant RG flow interpolating from N=8 SO(8)-invariant UV fixed point to N=2 SU(3) x U(1)_R-invariant IR fixed point in 4-dimensions. We describe how the corresponding 3-dimensional N=1 superconformal Chern-Simons matter theory deforms. By replacing the above CP^2 space with the Einstein-Kahler 2-fold, we also find out new 11-dimensional solution of N=1 SU(2) x U(1)-invariant RG flow connecting above two fixed points in 4-dimensions.

The geometric superpotential from the eleven dimensions is found and provides the M2-brane probe analysis. The Gauge Dual of Gauged N=8 Supergravity Theory

The most general SU(3)-singlet space of gauged N=8 supergravity in four-dimensions is studied recently. The SU(3)-invariant six scalar fields are realized by six real four-forms. A family of holographic N=1 supersymmetric RG flows on M2-branes in three-dimensions is described. This family of flows is driven by three independent mass parameters from the N=8 SO(8) theory and is controlled by two IR fixed points, N=1 G_2-invariant one and N=2 SU(3) x U(1)-invariant one. The generic flow with arbitrary mass parameters is N=1 supersymmetric and reaches to the N=2 SU(3) x U(1) fixed point where the three masses become identical. A particular N=1 supersymmetric SU(3)-preserving RG flow from the N=1 G_2-invariant fixed point to the N=2 SU(3) x U(1)-invariant fixed point is also discussed.

Towards An N=1 SU(3)-Invariant Supersymmetric Membrane Flow In Eleven-Dimensional Supergravity

The M-theory lift of N=1 G_2-invariant RG flow via a combinatoric use of the 4-dimensional RG flow and 11-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations was found some time ago. The 11-dimensional metric, a warped product of an asymptotically AdS_4 space with a squashed and stretched 7-sphere, for SU(3)-invariance was found before. In this paper, by choosing the 4-dimensional internal space as CP^2 space, we discover an exact solution of N=1 G_2-invariant flow to the 11-dimensional field equations. By an appropriate coordinate transformation on the three internal coordinates, we also find an 11-dimensional solution of N=1 G_2-invariant flow interpolating from N=8 SO(8)-invariant UV fixed point to N=1 G_2-invariant IR fixed point. In particular, the 11-dimensional metric and 4-forms at the N=1 G_2 fixed point for the second solution will provide some hints for the 11-dimensional lift of whole N=1 SU(3) RG flow connecting this N=1 G_2 fixed point to N=2 SU(3) x U(1)_R fixed point in 4-dimensions.

Are There Any New Vacua of Gauged N=8 Supergravity in Four Dimensions?

We consider the most general SU(3) singlet space of gauged N=8 supergravity in four-dimensions. The SU(3)-invariant six scalar fields in the theory can be viewed in terms of six real four-forms. By exponentiating these four-forms, we eventually obtain the new scalar potential. For the two extreme limits, we reproduce the previous results found by Warner in 1983. In particular, for the N=1 G_2 critical point, we find the constraint surface parametrized by three scalar fields on which the cosmological constant has the same value. We obtain the BPS domain-wall solutions for restricted scalar submanifold. We also describe the three-dimensional mass-deformed superconformal Chern-Simons matter theory dual to the above supersymmetric flows in four-dimensions.

Meta-Stable Brane Configurations by Dualizing the Two Gauge Groups

We consider the N=1 supersymmetric gauge theories with product gauge groups. The two kinds of D6-branes in the electric theory are both displaced and rotated respectively where these deformations are interpreted as the mass terms and quartic terms for the two kinds of flavors. Then we apply the Seiberg dual to the whole gauge group factors by moving the branes and obtain the corresponding dual gauge theories. By analyzing the magnetic superpotentials consisting of an interaction term between a magnetic meson field and dual matters as well as the above deformations for each gauge group, we present the type IIA nonsupersymmetric meta-stable brane configurations.

The Eleven-Dimensional Uplift of Four-Dimensional Supersymmetric RG Flow

The squashed and stretched 7-dimensional internal metric preserving U(1) x U(1) x U(1)_R symmetry possesses an Einstein-Kahler 2-fold which is a base manifold of 5-dimensional Sasaki-Einstein L^{p, q, r} space. The r(transverse to the domain wall)-dependence of the two 4-dimensional supergravity fields, that play the role of geometric parameters for squashing and stretching, makes the 11-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations consistent not only at the two critical points but also along the whole N=2 supersymmetric RG flow connecting them. The Ricci tensor of the solution has common feature with the previous three 11-dimensional solutions. The 4-forms preserve only U(1)_R symmetry for other generic parameters of the metric. We find an exact solution to the 11-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations corresponding to the lift of the 4-dimensional supersymmetric RG flow.

The Gauge Dual of A Warped Product of AdS_4 and A Squashed and Stretched Seven-Manifold

Corrado, Pilch and Warner in 2001 have found the second 11-dimensional solution where the deformed geometry of S^7 in the lift contains S^2 x S^2. We identify the gauge dual of this background with the theory described by Franco, Klebanov and Rodriguez-Gomez recently. It is the U(N) x U(N) x U(N) gauge theory with two SU(2) doublet chiral fields B_1 transforming in the (N, Nbar, 1), B_2 transforming in the (1, N, Nbar), C_1 in the (1, Nbar, N) and C_2 in the (Nbar, N, 1) as well as an adjoint field Φin the (1, adj, 1) representation. By adding the mass term for adjoint field Φ, the detailed correspondence between fields of AdS_4 supergravity and composite operators of the IR field theory is determined. Moreover, we compute the spin-2 KK modes around a warped product of AdS_4 and a squashed and stretched seven-manifold. This background with global SU(2) x SU(2) x U(1)_R symmetry is related to a U(N) x U(N) x U(N) N=2 superconformal Chern-Simons matter theory with eighth-order superpotential and Chern-Simons level (1,1,-2). The mass-squared in AdS_4 depends on SU(2) x SU(2) x U(1)_R quantum numbers and KK excitation number. The dimensions of spin-2 operators are found.

We also apply the method to the degenerated branch. The general matrix model curve on the two cases we obtain is valid for arbitrary N and extends the previous work from strong-coupling approach. Supersymmetric Gauge Theories with Flavors and Matrix Models

We present two results concerning the relation between poles and cuts by using the example of N=1 U(N_c) gauge theories with matter fields in the adjoint, fundamental and anti-fundamental representations. The first result is the on-shell possibility of poles, which are associated with flavors and on the second sheet of the Riemann surface, passing through the branch cut and getting to the first sheet. The second result is the generalization of hep-th/0311181 (Intriligator, Kraus, Ryzhov, Shigemori, and Vafa) to include flavors. We clarify when there are closed cuts and how to reproduce the results of the strong coupling analysis by matrix model, by setting the glueball field to zero from the beginning. We also make remarks on the possible stringy explanations of the results and on generalization to SO(N_c) and USp(2N_c) gauge groups.

The Matrix Model Curve Near the Singularities

In N=1 supersymmetric SO(N)/USp(2N) gauge theories with the tree-level superpotential W(Φ) that is an arbitrary polynomial of the adjoint matter Φ, the massless fluctuations about each quantum vacuum are described by U(1)^n gauge theory. By turning on the parameters of W(Φ) to the special values, the singular vacua where the additional fields become massless can be reached. Using the matrix model prescription, we study the intersections of n=0 and n=1 branches. The general formula for the matrix model curve at the singularity which is valid for arbitrary N is obtained and this generalizes the previous results for small values of N from strong-coupling approach. Applying the analysis to the degenerated case, we also obtain a general matrix model curve which is not only valid at a special point but also on the whole branch.

The 11-dimensional Metric for AdS/CFT RG Flows with Common SU(3) Invariance

The compact 7-manifold arising in the compactification of 11-dimensional supergravity is described by the metric encoded in the vacuum expectation values(vevs) in d=4, N=8 gauged supergravity. Especially, the space of SU(3)-singlet vevs contains various critical points and RG flows(domain walls) developing along AdS_4 radial coordinate. Based on the nonlinear metric ansatz of de Wit-Nicolai-Warner, we show the geometric construction of the compact 7-manifold metric and find the local frames(siebenbeins) by decoding the SU(3)-singlet vevs into squashing and stretching parameters of the 7-manifold. Then the 11-dimensional metric for the whole SU(3)-invariant sector is obtained as a warped product of an asymptotically AdS_4 space with a squashed and stretched 7-sphere. We also discuss the difference in the 7-manifold between two sectors, namely SU(3)xU(1)-invariant sector and G_2-invariant sector. Orientifold in Conifold and Quantum Deformation

We describe orientifold operation defining O3 plane in the conifold background by deriving it from that of O4 plane in the Type IIA brane construction by T-duality. We find that both $O3^+$ and $O3^-$ are at the tip of the cone so that there is no net untwisted RR charge. RG analysis shows that we need two `fractional' branes for the conformal invariance in orientifolded conifold. We argue that the gravity solution is the same as Klebanov and Tsyetlin since SUGRA cannot distinguish the orientifolds and D branes in this case. We describe the duality cascade as well as the quantum deformation of the moduli space of the field theory in the presence of the orientifold. The finitely resolved conifold does not allow the orientifold, while deformed conifold leaves us an unresolved issue on supersymmetry.

We investigate the explicit construction of the $WB_{2}$ algebra, which is closed and associative for all values of the central charge $c$, using the Jacobi identity and show the agreement with the results studied previously. Then we illustrate a realization of $c=\frac{5}{2}$ free fermion model, which is $m \rightarrow \infty$ limit of unitary minimal series, $c ( WB_{2} )=\frac{5}{2} (1-\frac{12}{ (m+3)(m+4) })$ based on the cosets $( \hat{B_{2}} \oplus \hat{B_{2}}, \hat{B_{2} })$ at level $(1,m).$ We confirm by explicit computations that the bosonic currents in the $ WB_{2}$ algebra are indeed given by the Casimir operators of $\hat{B_{2}}$ .
