$L^p$ regularity theory for even order elliptic systems with antisymmetric first order potentials

Motivated by a challenging expectation of Rivière (2011), in the recent interesting work of deLongueville-Gastel (2019), de Longueville and Gastel proposed the following geometrical even order elliptic system \begin{equation*} Δ^{m}u=\sum_{l=0}^{m-1}Δ^{l}\left\langle V_{l},du\right\rangle +\sum_{l=0}^{m-2}Δ^{l}δ\left(w_{l}du\right)\qquad \text{ in } B^{2m}\label{eq: Longue-Gastel system} \end{equation*} which includes polyharmonic mappings as special cases. Under minimal regularity assumptions on the coefficient functions and an additional algebraic antisymmetry assumption on the first order potential, they successfully established a conservation law for this system, from which everywhere continuity of weak solutions follows. This beautiful result amounts to a significant advance in the expectation of Rivière. In this paper, we seek for the optimal interior regularity of the above system, aiming at a more complete solution to the aforementioned expectation of Rivière. Combining their conservation law and some new ideas together, we obtain optimal Hölder continuity and sharp $L^p$ regularity theory, similar to that of Sharp and Topping \cite{Sharp-Topping-2013-TAMS}, for weak solutions to a related inhomogeneous system. Our results can be applied to study heat flow and bubbling analysis for polyharmonic mappings.

Uniqueness and Nondegeneracy of positive solutions to Kirchhoff equations and its applications in singular perturbation problems

In the present paper, we establish the uniqueness and nondegeneracy of positive energy solutions to the Kirchhoff equation \begin{eqnarray*} -\left(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^{3}}|\nabla u|^{2}\right)Δu+u=|u|^{p-1}u & & \text{in }\mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{eqnarray*} where $a,b>0$, $1<p<5$ are constants. Then, as applications, we derive the existence and local uniqueness of solutions to the perturbed Kirchhoff problem \begin{eqnarray*} -\left(ε^2a+εb\int_{\mathbb{R}^{3}}|\nabla u|^{2}\right)Δu+V(x)u=|u|^{p-1}u & & \text{in }\mathbb{R}^{3} \end{eqnarray*} for $ε>0$ sufficiently small, under some mild assumptions on the potential function $V:\mathbb{R}^3\to \mathbb{R}$. The existence result is obtained by applying the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction method. It seems to be the first time to study singularly perturbed Kirchhoff problems by reduction method, as all the previous results were obtained by various variational methods. Another advantage of this approach is that it gives a unified proof to the perturbation problem for all $p\in (1,5)$, which is quite different from using variational methods in the literature. The local uniqueness result is totally new. It is obtained by using a type of local Pohozaev identity, which is developed quite recently by Deng, Lin and Yan in their work "On the prescribed scalar curvature problem in $\mathbb{R}^N$, local uniqueness and periodicity." (see J. Math. Pures Appl. (9) {\bf 104}(2015), 1013-1044).

Uniqueness and nondegeneracy of positive solutions to a class of Kirchhoff equations in $\mathbb{R}^3$

In this paper, we establish a type of uniqueness and nondegeneracy results for positive solutions to the following nonlocal Kirchhoff equations \begin{eqnarray*} -\left(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^{3}}|\nabla u|^{2}\text{d} x\right)Δu+u=|u|^{p-1}u & & \text{in }\mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{eqnarray*} where $a,b$ are positive constants and $1<p<5$. Before this paper, it seems that there have no this type of results even on positive ground states solutions to Kirchhoff type equations, much less on general positive solutions. To overcome the difficulty brought by the nonlocality, some new observation on Kirchhoff equations is found, and some related theories on classical Schrödinger equations are applied.

A Note on Asymptotic Behaviors Of Solutions To Quasilinear Elliptic Equations with Hardy Potential

Optimal estimates on asymptotic behaviors of weak solutions both at the origin and at the infinity are obtained to the following quasilinear elliptic equations \begin{eqnarray*} -Δ_{p}u-\fracμ{|x|^{p}}|u|^{p-2}u+m|u|^{p-2}u=f(u), & & x\in\R^{N}, \end{eqnarray*} where $1<p<N$, $0\leqμ<\left((N-p)/p\right)^{p}$, $m>0$ and $f$ is a continuous function.

Asymptotic Behaviors of Solutions to quasilinear elliptic Equations with critical Sobolev growth and Hardy potential

Optimal estimates on the asymptotic behaviors of weak solutions both at the origin and at the infinity are obtained to the following quasilinear elliptic equations \[-Δ_{p}u-\fracμ{|x|^{p}}|u|^{p-2}u=Q(x)|u|^{\frac{Np}{N-p}-2}u,\quad\,x\in \mathbb{R}^{N},\] where $1<p<N, 0\leqμ<\left({(N-p)}/{p}\right)^{p}$ and $Q\in L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{N})$.

Gradient Estimates for Solutions To Quasilinear Elliptic Equations with Critical Sobolev Growth and Hardy Potential

This note is a continuation of the work \cite{CaoXiangYan2014}. We study the following quasilinear elliptic equations \[ -Δ_{p}u-\fracμ{|x|^{p}}|u|^{p-2}u=Q(x)|u|^{\frac{Np}{N-p}-2}u,\quad\, x\in\mathbb{R}^{N}, \] where $1<p<N,0\leqμ<\left((N-p)/p\right)^{p}$ and $Q\in L^{\infty}(\R^{N})$. Optimal asymptotic estimates on the gradient of solutions are obtained both at the origin and at the infinity.

Remarks on Nondegeneracy of Ground States for Quasilinear Schrödinger Equations

In this paper, we answer affirmatively the problem proposed by A. Selvitella in his paper "Nondegenracy of the ground state for quasilinear Schrödinger Equations" (see Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ., {\bf 53} (2015), pp 349-364): every ground state of equation \begin{eqnarray*}-Δu-uΔ|u|^2+ωu-|u|^{p-1}u=0&&\text{in }\mathbb{R}^N\end{eqnarray*} is nondegenerate for $1<p<3$, where $ω>0$ is a given constant and $N\ge1$. We also derive further properties on the linear operator associated to ground states of above equation.

Uniqueness of Positive Radial Solutions To Singular Critical Growth Quasilinear Elliptic Equations

In this paper, we prove that there exists at most one positive radial weak solution to the following quasilinear elliptic equation with singular critical growth \[ \begin{cases} -Δ_{p}u-{\displaystyle \fracμ{|x|^{p}}|u|^{p-2}u}{\displaystyle =\frac{|u|^{\frac{(N-s)p}{N-p}-2}u}{|x|^{s}}}+λ|u|^{p-2}u & \text{in }B,\\ u=0 & \text{on }\partial B, \end{cases} \] where $B$ is an open finite ball in $\mathbb{R}^{N}$ centered at the origin, $1<p<N$, $-\infty<μ<((N-p)/p)^{p}$, $0\le s<p$ and $λ\in\mathbb{R}$. A related limiting problem is also considered.
