Investigations of the semileptonic decays of $D$ and $D_s$ into a pseudoscalar meson using the Isgur-Wise Functions

The branching ratios of the semileptonic decay widths of the charm mesons are analyzed, using three different models for the Isgur-Wise functions, such as ${D^0} \to {K^ - }{l^ + }\upsilon $, ${D^0} \to {π^ - }{l^ + }ν$, ${D_s} \to {K^0}{l^ + }ν$ and ${D_s} \to η{l^ + }ν$, where the form factors of these decays are discussed. The mass spectra of the charm mesons are obtained. We use a potential quark model and consider the non-relativistic Hamiltonian of the charm meson as a bound state of the quark-antiquark system. We take into account the harmonic-type confinement and also Hellmann potential, which is a superposition of the Coulomb and the Yukawa potential. Using the variational approach along with the harmonic oscillator wave functions, we evaluate the mass spectra of the charm mesons, the form factors and the semileptonic decay widths of $D_{(s)}$. We present our results for masses of $D, D_s$ and $η$, the Isgur-Wise functions, the form factors of the semileptonic decays, and the branching fractions of the semileptonic decays of $D$ and $D_s$. Our results are motivating.

Study of $\bar{B}^0_{(s)}$ decaying into $D^0$ and $π^{+}π^{-}$, $K^{+}K^{-}$, or $π^{0}η$ with final state interactions

We investigate the resonant contributions in the decays $\bar{B}^0_{(s)} \to D^0 π^{+}π^{-}$, $\bar{B}^0_{(s)} \to D^0 K^{+}K^{-}$, and $\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow D^{0} π^{0}η$ by considering the final state interactions within the chiral unitary approach. The scalar resonances produced dynamically from the final state interactions of these decays are the ones of $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$. In addition, the vector mesons $ρ$ and $ϕ$ produced in the $p$-wave are also taken into account. From the invariant mass distributions of $B^{0}$ decays, one can see that the contributions of the states $f_{0}(500)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ are remarkably larger than the one of $f_{0}(980)$. However, for the case of $B^{0}_{s}$ decays only a clear structure closed to the $K^{+} K^{-}$ threshold appears, which corresponds to the $f_{0}(980)$ state and has no signal for the $f_{0}(500)$ resonance. The dominant contributions are from the vector meson $ϕ$ for the decay $\bar{B}^0_s \to D^0 K^{+}K^{-}$, where the results of the $K^{+} K^{-}$ invariant mass distributions are in agreement with the experimental data up to $1.1$ GeV. Moreover, the branching fractions and the ratios of branching fractions are also investigated, where some of them are consistent with the experimental measurements, and the branching fraction $\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow D^{0} a_{0}(980) [a_{0}(980) \to π^{0}η])=(6.08 \pm 0.72)\times 10^{-5}$ and the ratio of branching fractions $\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0}\rightarrow D^0 f_{0}(980))/\text{Br}(\bar{B}^{0}\rightarrow D^0 a_{0}(980))=0.13 \pm 0.03$ are predicted.

Scalar resonances in the final state interactions of the decays $D^{0} \rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}π^{0}, π^{0}π^{0}η,π^{0}ηη$

We investigate the scalar resonances in the processes of $D^{0} \rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}π^{0}, π^{0}π^{0}η, π^{0}ηη$ decays based on the chiral unitary approach for the final state interaction. We start from singly Cabibbo-suppressed production diagrams which provide a primary quark pair to hadronize two pseudoscalar mesons in $D^{0}$ decays. The resonances $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ are dynamically produced from the final state interactions of the meson pairs. In our results, the experimental data for the $π^{0}η$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow π^{0}ηη$ decay can be described well. We also make the predictions for the $π^{0}π^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}π^{0}$, where the $f_{0}(980)$ can be found, and for the $π^{0}π^{0}$, $π^{0}η$ invariant mass spectrum of the $D^{0} \rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}η$, where the $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$ appear. Furthermore, the branching ratios of each decay channel are predicted. We expect more accurate measurements of these decays to better understand the nature of the states $f_{0}(500)$, $f_{0}(980)$ and $a_{0}(980)$.

Study of $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K^{+} K^{-} π^{+}$ decay

We investigate the $D_{s}^{+} \rightarrow K^{+} K^{-} π^{+}$ decay theoretically with the final state interactions, which is based on the chiral unitary approach and takes into account the external and internal $W$-emission mechanisms at the quark level. Only considering three resonances contributions, the $f_0(980)$ in $S$-wave, the $\bar {K}^{*}(892)^{0}$ and $ϕ(1020)$ in $P$-wave, one can make a good description of the recent experimental data from BESIII Collaboration, where the contribution from $S$-wave is found to be small. Besides, we also make a calculation of the corresponding branching fractions, which are consistent with the results of BESIII Collaboration and Particle Data Group.

Study of pion vector form factor and its contribution to the muon $(g-2)$

In the present work, we investigate several theoretical models of the pion vector form factor and aim at getting the best fit for the two-pion cross sections to reduce the uncertainties of the calculation of two-pion contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Combined with a polynomial description to the pion vector form factor, we obtain the best fit from the Gounaris-Sakurai (or Kühn-Santamaria) model for the experimental data up to 1 GeV. By product, the branching ratio of $ω\to ππ$ can be extracted as $\text{Br}(ω\toππ)=(1.52\pm 0.06) \%$, which is consistent with the one of Particle Data Group. With the best fit of the data, we obtain the muon anomalous magnetic moment from two-pion contribution as $a_μ^{\mathrm{HVP,\; LO}}(π^{+} π^{-} \leq 1\ \text{GeV}) = (497.76\pm3.15) \times 10^{-10}$. Our results are consistent with the other works.

Decay properties of beauty and charm mesons within Isgur-Wise function formalism

We investigate the decay properties of some beauty and charm mesons with a phenomenological potential model. First, we consider the nonrelativistic Hamiltonian of the mesonic system with Coulomb plus exponential terms and study the wave function and the energy of the system using the variational approach. Thereby, we compute the masses, the decay constants, the leptonic branching fractions of heavy-light mesons and the mixing mass parameter $Δ{m_{B_q}}$. We study the radiative leptonic decay widths of ${D_s} \to γ\ell \bar ν$, ${D^ - } \to γ\ell \bar ν$ and the semileptonic decay widths of ${\bar B_{(s)}} \to {D_{(s)}}\ell \bar ν$, ${\bar B_{(s)}} \to D_{(s)}^*\ell \bar ν$. Using Isgur-Wise functions, we calculate the branching ratios of $B \to {D^{(*)}}π$ and two-body nonleptonic decay of $D \to Kπ$. Our results are consistent with other theoretical models and the experimental results.

How to reveal the nature of three or more pentaquark states?

Within the chiral unitary approach and with the constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry, we study the coupled channel interactions of ${\bar D}^{(*)}Σ_c^{(*)}$ channels, close to whose thresholds three pentaquark-like $P_c$ states have been reported by the LHCb Collaboration. In the present work, we take into account the contributions of pion exchanges via box diagrams to the interaction potentials, and therefore lift the degeneracy in the masses of ${\bar D}^*Σ_c^{(*)}$ spin multiplets. Fitting the $J/ψp$ invariant mass distributions in the $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψK^- p$ decay, we find that the LHCb pentaquark states can not be reproduced in the direct $J/ψp$ production in the $Λ_b^0$ decay, and can only be indirectly produced in the final state interactions of the $Λ_b^0$ decay products, ${\bar D}^*Σ_c^{(*)}$, which further supports the nature of these states as $\bar{D}Σ_c$ molecules. Based on the fit results obtained, we study the partial decay widths/branching ratios to other decay channels, $\bar{D}^* Λ_c$, $\bar{D} Λ_c$, and $η_c N$, and the corresponding invariant mass distributions. The resonances with $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^-$, $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$ and the one of $\bar{D}^* Σ_c^*$ around 4500 MeV, have large partial decay width into $η_c N$, and thus, can be easily seen in the $η_c N$ invariant mass distributions. By contrast, the states with $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^-$, $P_c(4457)$, the (predicted) narrow $P_c(4380)$ and the bound state of $\bar{D}^* Σ_c^*$ with a mass of about 4520 MeV, do not decay into $η_c N$. Therefore, the $η_c N$ channel should be studied in future to provide further insights into the nature of these states, especially that of the $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$.

Study the molecular nature of $σ$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$ states

We investigate the characteristics of $σ$, $f_{0}(980)$, and $a_{0}(980)$ with the formalism of chiral unitary approach. With the dynamical generation of them, we make a further study of their properties by evaluating the couplings, the compositeness, the wave functions and the radii. We also research their properties in the single channel interactions, where the $a_{0}(980)$ can not be reproduced in the $K\bar{K}$ interactions with isospin $I=1$ since the potential is too weak. In our results, the states of $σ$ and $f_{0}(980)$ can be dynamically reproduced stably with varying cutoffs both in the coupled channel and the single channel cases. We find that the $πη$ components is much important in the coupled channel interactions to dynamically reproduce the $a_{0}(980)$ state, which means that $a_{0}(980)$ state can not be a pure $K\bar{K}$ molecular state. We obtain their radii as: $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_{f_0(980)} = 1.80 \pm 0.35$ fm, $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_σ = 0.68 \pm 0.05$ fm and $|\langle r^2 \rangle|_{a_0(980)} = 0.94 \pm 0.09$ fm. Based on our investigation results, we conclude that the $f_{0}(980)$ state is mainly a $K\bar{K}$ bound state, the $σ$ state a resonance of $ππ$ and the $a_{0}(980)$ state a loose $K\bar{K}$ bound state. From the results of the compositeness, they are not pure molecular states and have something non-molecular components, especially for the $σ$ state.

Investigation of $J/ψ\to γ\, π^0 η(π^+π^-, π^0π^0)$ radiative decays including final-state interactions

We revisit the coupled channel $K\bar{K}$ interactions and dynamically generate the resonances $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ within both the isospin and the physical bases. The $f_0(980)-a_0(980)$ mixing effects are generated in the scattering amplitudes of the coupled channels with the physical basis, which exploits the important role of the $K\bar{K}$ channel in the dynamical nature of these resonances. With the scattering amplitudes obtained, we investigate the $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ contributions to the $J/ψ\to γηπ^0$, $J/ψ\to γπ^+π^-$ and $J/ψ\to γπ^0π^0$ radiative decays through the final-state interactions. We obtain the corresponding branching fractions $Br(J/ψ\to γa_0(980) \to γηπ^0) = (0.47\pm0.05) \times 10^{-7}$, $Br(J/ψ\to γf_0(980) \to γπ^+π^-) = 0.37 \times 10^{-7} - 1.98 \times 10^{-6}$, $Br(J/ψ\to γf_0(980) \to γπ^0π^0) = 0.18 \times 10^{-7} - 9.92 \times 10^{-7}$, and predict $Br(J/ψ\to γa_0(980)) = 1.72 \times 10^{-8} - 3.07\times 10^{-7}$ and $Br(J/ψ\to γf_0(980)) = 1.86 \times 10^{-8} - 1.89\times 10^{-5}$. These fractions are within the upper limits of the experimental measurements.

Prediction of hidden charm strange molecular baryon states with heavy quark spin symmetry

We have studied the meson-baryon $S-$wave interaction, using coupled channels, in the isoscalar hidden-charm strange sector and $J^P = 1/2^-,3/2^-$ and $5/2^-$. We impose constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry in the interaction and obtain the non vanishing matrix elements from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach to the charm sector. The ultraviolet divergences are renormalized using the same meson-baryon-loops regulator previously employed in the non-strange hidden charm sector, where a good reproduction of the properties of the newly discovered pentaquark states is obtained. We obtain five states of $1/2^-$, four of $3/2^-$ and one of $5/2^-$, which could be compared in the near future with forthcoming LHCb experiments. The $5/2^-$, three of the $3/2^-$ and another three of the $1/2^-$ resonances are originated from isoscalar $\bar D^{(*)}Ξ_c^\prime$ and $\bar D^{(*)}Ξ_c^*$ interactions. They should be located just few MeV below the corresponding thresholds (4446, 4513, 4588 and 4655 MeV), and would be SU(3)-siblings of the isospin 1/2 $\bar D^{(*)} Σ_c^{(*)}$ quasi-bound states previously found, and that provided a robust theoretical description of the $P_c(4440)$, $P_c(4457)$ and $P_c(4312)$ LHCb exotic states. The another two $1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$ states obtained in this work are result of the $\bar D^{(*)}Ξ_c-D^{(*)}_sΛ_c$ coupled-channels isoscalar interaction, are significantly broader than the others, with widths of the order of 15 MeV, being $\bar D^{(*)}_sΛ_c$ the dominant decay channel.

$J/ψ(η_c) N$ and $Υ(η_b) N$ cross sections

Inspired by the recent findings of the two $P_c^+$ states in the $J/ψp$ mass spectrum at LHCb, we investigate the elastic and inelastic cross sections of the $J/ψN$, $η_c N$, $ΥN$ and $η_b N$ channels within the constraints from heavy quark spin and flavour symmetry. The $\bar{D}^{(*)} Σ_c^{(*)}$ ($B^{(*)} Σ_b^{(*)}$) bound states predicted in earlier works should be accessible in elastic and/or inelastic processes of the $J/ψN$ and/or $η_c N$ ($ΥN$ and/or $η_b N$) interactions.

Baryon states with open charm in the extended local hidden gauge approach

In this paper we examine the interaction of $D N$ and $D^* N$ states, together with their coupled channels, by using an extension of the local hidden gauge formalism from the light meson sector, which is based on heavy quark spin symmetry. The scheme is based on the use of the impulse approximation at the quark level, with the heavy quarks acting as spectators, which occurs for the dominant terms where there is the exchange of a light meson. The pion exchange and the Weinberg-Tomozawa interactions are generalized and with this dynamics we look for states generated from the interaction, with a unitary coupled channels approach that mixes the pseudoscalar-baryon and vector-baryon states. We find two states with nearly zero width which are associated to the $Λ_c(2595)$ and $Λ_c(2625)$. The lower state, with $J^P = 1/2^-$, couples to $D N$ and $D^* N$, and the second one, with $J^P = 3/2^-$, to $D^* N$. In addition to these two $Λ_c$ states, we find four more states with $I=0$, one of them nearly degenerate in two states of $J=1/2,\ 3/2$. Furthermore we find three states in $I=1$, two of them degenerate in $J=1/2, 3/2$.

States generated in the $K$-multi-$ρ$ interactions

In the present work we use three-body interaction formalism to investigate the $K$-multi-$ρ$ interactions. First, we reproduced the resonances $f_2(1270)$ and $K_1(1270)$ in the $ρρ$ and $ρK$ two-body interactions respectively, as the clusters of the fixed center approximation. Then, we study the three-body $K -ρρ(f_2)$ and $ρ- ρK (K_1)$ interactions with the fixed center approximation of the Faddeev equations. Furthermore, we extrapolate the formalism to study the four-body, five-body and six-body systems, containing one $K$ meson and multi-$ρ$ mesons. In our research, without introducing any free parameters, we generate the $K_2 (1770)$ state in the three-body interaction with the mass of 1707 MeV and a width about 113 MeV, which are consistent with the experiments. We also find a clear resonant structure in our results of the five-body interaction, with a mass 2505 MeV and a width about 32 MeV or more, which is associated to the $K_4 (2500)$ state, where we obtain consistent results with the experimental findings. Furthermore, we predict some new states in the other many body interactions, $K_3 (2080)$, $K_5 (2670)$ (isospin $I=1/2$), and $K_4 (2640)$ (isospin $I=3/2$), with uncertainties.

Baryon states with open beauty in the extended local hidden gauge approach

In this paper we examine the interaction of \bar B N, \bar B Δ, \bar B^* N and \bar B^* Δstates, together with their coupled channels, using a mapping from the light meson sector. The assumption that the heavy quarks act as spectators at the quark level automatically leads us to the results of the heavy quark spin symmetry for pion exchange and reproduces the results of the Weinberg Tomozawa term, coming from light vector exchanges in the extended local hidden gauge approach. With this dynamics we look for states dynamically generated from the interaction and find two states with nearly zero width, which we associate to the Λ_b(5912) and Λ_b(5920) states. The states couple mostly to \bar B^* N, which are degenerate with the Weinberg Tomozawa interaction. The difference of masses between these two states, with J=1/2, 3/2 respectively, is due to pion exchange connecting these states to intermediate \bar B N states. In addition to these two Λ_b states, we find three more states with I=0, one of them nearly degenerate in two states of J=1/2,3/2. Furthermore we also find eight more states in $I=1$, two of them degenerate in J=1/2, 3/2, and other two degenerate in J=1/2, 3/2, 5/2.

A study of $ηK \bar K$ and $η' K \bar K$ with the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations

In the present work we investigate the three-body systems of $ηK \bar K$ and $η' K \bar K$, by taking the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations. We find a clear and stable resonance structure around 1490 MeV in the squared $ηK \bar K$ scattering amplitude, which is not sensitive to the renormalization parameters. Conversely, we get only an enhancement effect of the threshold in the $η' K \bar K$ amplitude that indicates the difficulty to bind the $η' K \bar K$ system as a consequence of a weaker $η' K$ interaction than the $ηK$ one. We associate the $ηK \bar K$ state found to the $η(1475)$.

Combining heavy quark spin and local hidden gauge symmetries in the dynamical generation of hidden charm baryons

We present a coupled channel unitary approach to obtain states dynamically generated from the meson baryon interaction with hidden charm, using constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry. We use as basis of states, $\bar D B$, $\bar D^* B$ states, with $B$ baryon charmed states belonging to the 20 representations of SU(4) with $J^P=1/2^+,~3/2^+$. In addition we also include the $η_c N$ and $J/ψN$ states. The inclusion of these coupled channels is demanded by heavy quark spin symmetry, since in the large $m_Q$ limit the $D$ and $D^*$ states are degenerate and are obtained from each other by means of a spin rotation, under which QCD is invariant. The novelty in the work is that we use dynamics from the extrapolation of the local hidden gauge model to SU(4) and we show that this dynamics fully respects the constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry. With the full space of states demanded by the heavy quark spin symmetry and the dynamics of the local hidden gauge we look for states dynamically generated and find four basic states which are bound, corresponding to $\bar D Σ_c$, $\bar D Σ_c^*$, $\bar D^* Σ_c$ and $\bar D^* Σ_c^*$, decaying mostly into $η_c N$ and $J/ψN$. All the states appear in isospin $I=1/2$ and we find no bound states or resonances in $I=3/2$. The $\bar D Σ_c$ state appears in $J=1/2$, the $\bar D Σ_c^*$ in $J=3/2$, the $\bar D^* Σ_c$ appears nearly degenerate in $J=1/2, ~3/2$ and the $\bar D^* Σ_c^*$ appears nearly degenerate in $J=1/2, ~3/2, ~5/2$, with the peculiarity that in $J=5/2$ the state has zero width in the space of states chosen. All the states are bound with about 50 MeV with respect to the corresponding $\bar D B$ thresholds and the width, except for the $J=5/2$ state, is also of the same order of magnitude.

Description of $ρ(1700)$ as a $ρK \bar{K}$ system with the fixed center approximation

We study the $ρK\bar{K}$ system with an aim to describe the $ρ(1700)$ resonance. The chiral unitary approach has achieved success in a description of systems of the light hadron sector. With this method, the $K \bar{K}$ system in the isospin sector $I=0$, is found to be a dominant component of the $f_0 (980)$ resonance. Therefore, by regarding the $K\bar{K}$ system as a cluster, the $f_0 (980)$ resonance, we evaluate the $ρK\bar{K}$ system applying the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equations. We construct the $ρK$ unitarized amplitude using the chiral unitary approach. As a result, we find a peak in the three-body amplitude around 1739 MeV and a width of about 227 MeV. The effect of the width of $ρ$ and $f_0 (980)$ is also discussed. We associate this peak to the $ρ(1700)$ which has a mass of $1720 \pm 20$ MeV and a width of $250 \pm 100$ MeV.

Hidden beauty baryon states in the local hidden gauge approach with heavy quark spin symmetry

Using a coupled channel unitary approach, combining the heavy quark spin symmetry and the dynamics of the local hidden gauge, we investigate the meson-baryon interaction with hidden beauty and obtain several new states of $N^*$ around 11 GeV. We consider the basis of states $η_b N$, $ΥN$, $B Λ_b$, $B Σ_b$, $B^* Λ_b$, $B^* Σ_b$, $B^* Σ_b^*$ and find four basic bound states which correspond to $B Σ_b$, $B Σ_b^*$, $B^* Σ_b$ and $B^* Σ_b^*$, decaying mostly into $η_b N$ and $ΥN$ and with a binding energy about 50-130 MeV with respect to the thresholds of the corresponding channel. All of them have isospin $I=1/2$, and there are no bound states or resonances in $I=3/2$. The $B Σ_b$ state appears in $J=1/2$, the $B Σ_b^*$ in $J=3/2$, the $B^* Σ_b$ appears nearly degenerate in $J=1/2, ~3/2$ and the $B^* Σ_b^*$ appears nearly degenerate in $J=1/2, ~3/2, ~5/2$. These states have a width from $6 \sim 45 \mev$ except for the one in $J=5/2$ which has zero width since it cannot decay into any of the states of the basis chosen.

Hidden beauty molecules within the local hidden gauge approach and heavy quark spin symmetry

Using a coupled channel unitary approach, combining the heavy quark spin symmetry and the dynamics of the local hidden gauge, we investigate the meson-meson interaction with hidden beauty and obtain several new states. Both I=0 and I=1 states are analyzed and it is shown that in the I=1 sector, the interactions are too weak to create any bound states within our framework. In total, we predict with confidence the existence of 6 bound states, and weakly bound 6 more possible states. The existence of these weakly bound states depend on the influence of the coupled channel effects.

$J/ψ$ reaction mechanisms and suppression in the nuclear medium

Recent studies of the interaction of vector mesons with nuclei make possible and opportune the study of the interaction of the $J/ψ$ with nuclei and the investigation of the origin of the $J/ψ$ suppression in its propagation thorough a nuclear medium. We observe that the transition of $J/ψN$ to $VN$ with $V$ being a light vector, $ρ, ω,ϕ$, together with the inelastic channels, $J/ψN \to \bar D Λ_c$ and $J/ψN \to \bar D Σ_c$ leads to a particular shape of the inelastic cross section. Analogously, we consider the mechanisms where the exchanged $D$ collides with a nucleon and gives $πΛ_c$ or $πΣ_c$. The cross section has a peak around $\sqrt s=4415$ MeV, where the $J/ψN$ couples to a resonance predicted recently. We study the transparency ratio for electron induced $J/ψ$ production in nuclei at about 10 GeV and find that 30 - 35% of the $J/ψ$ produced in heavy nuclei are absorbed inside the nucleus. This ratio is in line with depletions of $J/ψ$ though matter observed in other reactions.

A narrow $DNN$ quasi-bound state

The energies and widths of $DNN$ quasi-bound states with isospin I=1/2 are evaluated in two methods, the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equation and the variational method approach to the effective one-channel Hamiltonian. The $DN$ interactions are constructed so that they dynamically generate the $Λ_c(2595)$ (I=0, $J^π =1/2^-$) resonance state. We find that the system is bound by about 250 MeV from the $DNN$ threshold, $\sqrt{s} \sim 3500$ MeV. Its width including both the mesonic decay and the $D$ absorption, is estimated to be about 20-40 MeV. The I=0 $DN$ pair in the $DNN$ system is found to form a cluster that is similar to the $Λ_c(2595)$.

A prediction of $D^*$-multi-$ρ$ states

We present a study of the many-body interaction between a $D^*$ and multi-$ρ$. We use an extrapolation to SU(4) of the hidden gauge formalism, which produced dynamically the resonances $f_2(1270)$ in the $ρρ$ interaction and $D^*_2(2460)$ in the $ρD^*$ interaction. Then let a third particle, $ρ$, $D^*$, or a resonance collide with them, evaluating the scattering amplitudes in terms of the Fixed Center Approximation of the Faddeev equations. We find several clear resonant structures above $2800\mev$ in the multibody scattering amplitudes. They would correspond to new charmed resonances, $D^*_3$, $D^*_4$, $D^*_5$ and $D^*_6$, which are not yet listed in the PDG, which would be analogous to the $ρ_3(1690)$, $f_4(2050)$, $ρ_5(2350)$, $f_6(2510)$ and $K^*_3(1780)$, $K^*_4(2045)$, $K^*_5(2380)$ described before as multi-$ρ$ and $K^*$-multi-$ρ$ states respectively.

Interaction of vector mesons with baryons and nuclei

After some short introductory remarks on particular issues on the vector mesons in nuclei, in this paper we present a short review of recent developments concerning the interaction of vector mesons with baryons and with nuclei from a modern perspective using the local hidden gauge formalism for the interaction of vector mesons. We present results for the vector baryon interaction and in particular for the resonances which appear as composite states, dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with baryons, taking also the mixing of these states with pseudoscalars and baryons into account. We then venture into the charm sector, reporting on hidden charm baryon states around 4400 MeV, generated from the interaction of vector mesons and baryons with charm, which have a strong repercussion on the properties of the $J/ΨN$ interaction. We also address the interaction of $K^*$ with nuclei and make suggestions to measure the predicted huge width in the medium by means of the transparency ratio. The formalism is extended to study the phenomenon of $J/ψ$ suppression in nuclei via $J/ψ$ photoproduction reactions.

We begin with the hidden gauge formalism for the interaction of vector mesons, then review results for vector baryon interaction and in particular the resonances which appear as composite states, dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with baryons. New developments concerning the mixing of these states with pseudoscalars and baryons are also reported. We include some discussion on the $5/2^+$ $Δ$ resonances around 2000 MeV, where we suggest that the $Δ(2000)5/2^+$ resonance, which comes in the PDG from averaging a set of resonances appearing around 1700 MeV and another one around 2200 MeV, corresponds indeed to two distinct resonances. We also report on a hidden charm baryon state around 4400 MeV coming from the interaction of vector mesons and baryons with charm, and how this state has some repercussion in the $J/ψ$ suppression in nuclei. The interaction of $K^*$ in nuclei is also reported and suggestions are made to measure by means of the transparency ratio the huge width in the medium that the theoretical calculations predict. The formalism is extended to $J/ψ$ interaction with nuclei and the transparency ratio for $J/ψ$ photoproduction in nuclei is studied and shown to be a good tool to find possible baryon states which couple to $J/ψN$.

Narrow bound states of the DNN system

We report on a recent calculation of the properties of the $DNN$ system, a charmed meson with two nucleons. The system is analogous to the $\bar K NN$ system substituting a strange quark by a charm quark. Two different methods are used to evaluate the binding and width, the Fixed Center approximation to the Faddeev equations and a variational calculation. In both methods we find that the system is bound by about 200 MeV and the width is smaller than 40 MeV, a situation opposite to the one of the $\bar K NN$ system and which makes this state well suited for experimental observation.

The small $K π$ component in the $K^*$ wave functions

We use a recently developed formalism which generalizes the Weinberg's compositeness condition to partial waves higher than s-wave in order to determine the probability of having a $K π$ component in the $K^*$ wave function. A fit is made to the $K π$ phase shifts in p-wave, from where the coupling of $K^*$ to $K π$ and the $K π$ loop function are determined. These ingredients allow us to determine that the $K^*$ is a genuine state, different to a $K π$ component, in a proportion of about 80%.

Three methods to detect the predicted $D \bar{D}$ scalar meson X(3700)

In analogy to the f_0(500), which appears as a $ππ$ resonance in chiral unitary theory, and the f_0(980), which appears as a quasibound $K \bar K$ state, the extension of this approach to the charm sector also predicts a quasibound $D \bar D $ state with mass around 3720 MeV, named as X(3700), for which some experimental support is seen in the $e^+ e^- \to J/ψD \bar D $ reaction close to the $D \bar D $ threshold. In the present work we propose three different experiments to observe it as a clear peak. The first one is the radiative decay of the $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(3770) \to γX(3700) \to γηη'$. The second one proposes the analogous reaction $ψ(4040) \to γX(3700) \to γηη'$ and the third reaction is the $e^+ e^- \to J/ψX(3700) \to J/ψηη'$. Neat peaks are predicted for all the reactions and the calculated rates are found within measurable range in present facilities.

$NDK$, $\bar{K} DN$ and $ND\bar{D}$ molecules

We investigate theoretically baryon systems made of three hadrons which contain one nucleon and one D meson, and in addition another meson, $\bar{D}, K$ or $\bar{K}$. The systems are studied using the Fixed Center Approximation to the Faddeev equations. The study is made assuming scattering of a $K$ or a $\bar{K}$ on a $DN$ cluster, which is known to generate the $Λ_c(2595)$, or the scattering of a nucleon on the $D\bar{D}$ cluster, which has been shown to generate a hidden charm resonance named X(3700). We also investigate the configuration of scattering of $N$ on the $KD$ cluster, which is known to generate the $D_{s0}^*(2317)$. In all cases we find bound states, with the $NDK$ system, of exotic nature, more bound than the $\bar{K} DN$.
