SpatialActor: Exploring Disentangled Spatial Representations for Robust Robotic Manipulation

Robotic manipulation requires precise spatial understanding to interact with objects in the real world. Point-based methods suffer from sparse sampling, leading to the loss of fine-grained semantics. Image-based methods typically feed RGB and depth into 2D backbones pre-trained on 3D auxiliary tasks, but their entangled semantics and geometry are sensitive to inherent depth noise in real-world that disrupts semantic understanding. Moreover, these methods focus on high-level geometry while overlooking low-level spatial cues essential for precise interaction. We propose SpatialActor, a disentangled framework for robust robotic manipulation that explicitly decouples semantics and geometry. The Semantic-guided Geometric Module adaptively fuses two complementary geometry from noisy depth and semantic-guided expert priors. Also, a Spatial Transformer leverages low-level spatial cues for accurate 2D-3D mapping and enables interaction among spatial features. We evaluate SpatialActor on multiple simulation and real-world scenarios across 50+ tasks. It achieves state-of-the-art performance with 87.4% on RLBench and improves by 13.9% to 19.4% under varying noisy conditions, showing strong robustness. Moreover, it significantly enhances few-shot generalization to new tasks and maintains robustness under various spatial perturbations. Project Page: https://shihao1895.github.io/SpatialActor

Ergodicity of stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equations with logarithmic potentials driven by degenerate or nondegenerate noises

We study the asymptotic properties of the stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation with the logarithmic free energy by establishing different dimension-free Harnack inequalities according to various kinds of noises. The main characteristics of this equation are the singularities of the logarithmic free energy at 1 and --1 and the conservation of the mass of the solution in its spatial variable. Both the space-time colored noise and the space-time white noise are considered. For the highly degenerate space-time colored noise, the asymptotic log-Harnack inequality is established under the so-called essentially elliptic conditions. And the Harnack inequality with power is established for non-degenerate space-time white noise.

Asymptotics of PDE in random environment by paracontrolled calculus

We apply the paracontrolled calculus to study the asymptotic behavior of a certain quasilinear PDE with smeared mild noise, which originally appears as the space-time scaling limit of a particle system in random environment on one dimensional discrete lattice. We establish the convergence result and show a local in time well-posedness of the limit stochastic PDE with spatial white noise. It turns out that our limit stochastic PDE does not require any renormalization. We also show a comparison theorem for the limit equation.

Discontinuity-resolving shock-capturing schemes on unstructured grids

Solving compressible flows containing discontinuities remains a major challenge for numerical methods especially on unstructured grids. Thus in this work, we make contributions to shock capturing schemes on unstructured grids with aim of resolving discontinuities with low numerical dissipation. Different from conventional shock capturing schemes which only use polynomials as interpolation functions on unstructured grids, the proposed scheme employs the linear polynomial as well as non-polynomial as reconstruction candidates. For linear polynomial, the second order MUSCL scheme with the MLP (Multi-dimensional Limiting Process) slope limiter is adopted. The multi-dimensional THINC (Tangent of Hyperbola for INterface Capturing) function with quadratic surface representation and Gaussian quadrature, so-called THINC/QQ, is used as the non-polynomial reconstruction candidate. With these reconstruction candidates, a multi-stage boundary variation diminishing (BVD) algorithm which aims to minimize numerical dissipation is designed on unstructured grids to select the final reconstruction function. The resulted shock capturing scheme is named as MUSCL-THINC/QQ-BVD. The performance of the proposed scheme is demonstrated through solving compressible single-phase and multi-phase problems where the discontinuity is the typical flow structure. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme is capable of capturing sharp discontinuous profiles without numerical oscillations as well as resolving vortices associated with Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities along shear layers and material interfaces. In comparison with schemes only replying on high order polynomials, the proposed scheme shows significant improvement of resolution across discontinuities. Thus, this work provides an accurate and robust shock-capturing scheme to resolve discontinuities in compressible flows.

Log-Harnack inequality for reflected SPDEs driven by multiplicative noises and its applications

We mainly investigate the log-Harnack inequality for the reflected stochastic partial differential equation driven by multiplicative noises based on the gradient estimate of the associated Markov semigroup. To do it, the penalization method and the comparison principle for stochastic partial differential equations are adopted. As its applications, we also establish the entropy-cost inequality and study some important estimates of the transition density relative to its invariant measure.

Some effects of the noise intensity upon non-linear stochastic heat equations on $[0,1]$

Various effects of the noise intensity upon the solution $u(t,x)$ of the stochastic heat equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions on $[0,1]$ are investigated. We show that for small noise intensity, the $p$-th moment of $\sup_{x \in [0,1]} |u(t,x)|$ is exponentially stable, however, for large one, it grows at least exponentially. We also prove that the noise excitation of the $p$-th energy of $u(t,x)$ is $4$, as the noise intensity goes to infinity. We formulate a common method to investigate the lower bounds of the above two different behaviors for large noise intensity, which are hard parts in \cite{FoJo-14}, \cite{FoNu} and \cite{KhKi-15}.

Fluctuations in an Evolutional Model of Two-Dimensional Young Diagrams

We discuss the non-equilibrium fluctuation problem, which corresponds to the hydrodynamic limit established in \cite{FS}, for the dynamics of two-dimensional Young diagrams associated with the uniform and restricted uniform statistics, and derive linear stochastic partial differential equations in the limit. We show that their invariant measures are identical to the Gaussian measures which appear in the fluctuation limits in the static situations.
