Analytically weak solutions to SPDEs with unbounded time-dependent differential operators and an application

We analyze the concepts of analytically weak solutions of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) in Hilbert spaces with time-dependent unbounded operators and give conditions for existence and uniqueness of such solutions. Our studies are motivated by a stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) arising in industrial mathematics.

Construction of $\mathcal L^p$-strong Feller Processes via Dirichlet Forms and Applications to Elliptic Diffusions

We provide a general construction scheme for $\mathcal L^p$-strong Feller processes on locally compact separable metric spaces. Starting from a regular Dirichlet form and specified regularity assumptions, we construct an associated semigroup and resolvents of kernels having the $\mathcal L^p$-strong Feller property. They allow us to construct a process which solves the corresponding martingale problem for all starting points from a known set, namely the set where the regularity assumptions hold. We apply this result to construct elliptic diffusions having locally Lipschitz matrix coefficients and singular drifts on general open sets with absorption at the boundary. In this application elliptic regularity results imply the desired regularity assumptions.

Core property of smooth contractive embeddable functions for an elliptic operator

Given an elliptic differential operator L of second order with smooth coefficients in a bounded domain with smooth boundary. We show that if the coefficients are Hölder-continuous up to the boundary and the boundary is $C^{2,α}$-smooth that on the space of all $C^{2,α}$-smooth (up to the boundary) functions u fulfilling both u=0 and Lu=0 (on the boundary) the operator L is dissipative and closable to an generator of a strong continuous operator semigroup in the space of continuous functions with zero boundary condition. Moreover we show that if the coefficients of the second order and first order derivatives are in $C^{2,α}$ then the above mentioned subspace of $C^{2,α}$ which is a core for the generator of the semigroup, can be embedded (continued) in a contractive and smooth way. Thus we construct a linear extension operator which maps a $C^{2,α}$-smooth function fulfilling the boundary conditions to a $C^{2,α}$-smooth function in $\R^n$ such that the supremum is not increased.

Smooth Contractive Embeddings and Application to Feynman Formula for Parabolic Equations on Smooth Bounded Domains

We prove two assumptions made in an article by Ya.A. Butko, M. Grothaus, O.G. Smolyanov concerning the existence of a strongly continuous operator semigroup solving a Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for an elliptic differential operator in a bounded domain and the existence of a smooth contractive embedding of a core of the generator of the semigroup into the space $C_c^{2,α}(\R^n)$. Based on these assumptions a Feynman formula for the solution of the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem is constructed in the article mentioned above. In this article we show that the assumptions are fulfilled for domains with $C^{4,α}$-smooth boundary and coefficients in $C^{2,α}$.
