Categorification of tensor powers of the vector representation of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$

We consider the monoidal subcategory of finite dimensional representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$ generated by the vector representation, and we provide a diagram calculus for the intertwining operators, which allows to compute explicitly the canonical basis. We construct then a categorification of these representations and of the action of both $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$ and the intertwining operators using subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$.

Categorification of tensor product representations of sl(k) and category O

We construct categorifications of tensor products of arbitrary finite-dimensional irreducible representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_k$ with subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$, generalizing previous work of Sussan and Mazorchuk-Stroppel. Using Lie theoretical methods, we prove in detail that they are tensor product categorifications according to the recent definition of Losev and Webster. As an application we deduce an equivalence of categories between certain versions of category $\mathcal{O}$ and Webster's tensor product categories. Finally we indicate how the categorifications of tensor products of the natural representation of $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$ fit into this framework.

Mixed quantum skew Howe duality and link invariants of type A

We define a ribbon category $\mathsf{Sp}(β)$, depending on a parameter $β$, which encompasses Cautis, Kamnitzer and Morrison's spider category, and describes for $β=m-n$ the monoidal category of representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n})$ generated by exterior powers of the vector representation and their duals. We identify this category $\mathsf{Sp}(β)$ with a direct limit of quotients of a dual idempotented quantum group $\dot{\mathsf{U}}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{r+s})$, proving a mixed version of skew Howe duality in which exterior powers and their duals appear at the same time. We show that the category $\mathsf{Sp}(β)$ gives a unified natural setting for defining the colored $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ link invariant (for $β=m-n$) and the colored HOMFLY-PT polynomial (for $β$ generic).

Walled Brauer algebras as idempotent truncations of level 2 cyclotomic quotients

We realize (via an explicit isomorphism) the walled Brauer algebra for an arbitrary integral parameter delta as an idempotent truncation of a level two cyclotomic degenerate affine walled Brauer algebra. The latter arises naturally in Lie theory as the endomorphism ring of so-called mixed tensor products, i.e. of a parabolic Verma module tensored with some copies of the natural representation and its dual. This provides us a method to construct central elements in the walled Brauer algebras and can be applied to establish the Koszulity of the walled Brauer algebra if delta is not zero.

The Alexander polynomial as quantum invariant of links

In these notes we collect some results about finite dimensional representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$ and related invariants of framed tangles which are well-known to experts but difficult to find in the literature. In particular, we give an explicit description of the ribbon structure on the category of finite dimensional $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$-representation and we use it to construct the corresponding quantum invariant of framed tangles. We explain in detail why this invariant vanishes on closed links and how one can modify the construction to get a nonzero invariant of framed closed links. Finally we show how to obtain the Alexander polynomial by considering the vector representation of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$.

A diagram algebra for Soergel modules corresponding to smooth Schubert varieties

Using combinatorial properties of symmetric polynomials, we compute explicitly the Soergel modules for some permutations whose corresponding Schubert varieties are rationally smooth. We build from them diagram algebras whose module categories are equivalent to the subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ which show up in categorification of $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$-representations. We construct diagrammatically the graded cellular structure and the properly stratified structure of these algebras.

The degenerate affine walled Brauer algebra

We define a degenerate affine version of the walled Brauer algebra, that has the same role plaid by the degenerate affine Hecke algebra for the symmetric group algebra. We use it to prove a higher level mixed Schur-Weyl duality for gl_N. We consider then families of cyclotomic quotients of level two which appear naturally in Lie theory and we prove that they inherit from there a natural grading and a graded cellular structure.
